Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Seal Elarion
Shiva raised his hand, his voice calm and measured."I have an idea to stop them—for now."
The room fell silent. The gods, who had been locked in heated debate, froze mid-sentence.
Zara arched a brow, surprised by their sudden quiet. She leaned toward Lilith and whispered,"Lilith, what are they talking about? I thought the Demon Lords were killed by the Saints. Why are they saying the gods fell in that war?"
Lilith lowered her gaze before answering softly,"From what my mother told me, the Saints—those blessed by Hera—only succeeded because the Demon Lords were already weakened by their war with the gods. Their demonic energy was nearly drained. Hera took advantage of that moment and empowered the Saints to finish them off."
Zara’s eyes widened."They were already weak? But... legends say they nearly wiped out humanity."
Lilith gave a faint, almost sorrowful smile."Even weakened, they were beyond what any human—blessed or not—could handle. The Saints didn’t win with strength. They won with timing."
Zara fell silent, eyes drifting back to Shiva as he resumed speaking.
"There’s only one way to stop them now. We considered handling it ourselves, but the consciousness of Elarion won’t allow too many powerful beings to enter the realm at once."
Odin raised an eyebrow."So, what’s the plan?"
Shiva placed a thoughtful hand on his chin."We temporarily seal off Elarion. It’ll only last a few years, but that time might be enough to find another solution."
Varek scoffed, arms crossed."Cowards. Let me go—I’ll handle them myself."
Odin ignored him."You’re right. Let’s do it. Anyone object?"
Lucien shook his head. Zeus gave a subtle shake of his own. Varek nodded firmly, but no one paid him attention.
Zara leaned toward Lilith again, concern etched on her face."Lilith... what happens if they seal off Elarion?"
Lilith gave her a small, reassuring smile."Don’t worry. It’s not dangerous. It just means no one can enter or leave—and Elarion won’t merge with other realms."
Zara’s voice dipped."But... if no one can go in or out... when will I see my family again?"
Lilith’s smile dimmed."You’ll have to wait a few more years, dear."
Zara looked down, her brows furrowing.
Nearby, Grace noticed her expression and leaned in with a bright grin."Aww, don’t worry. You’ll see them again. Just hang in there."
Zara nodded faintly but said nothing.
Odin raised his hand."That concludes today’s meeting."
Lucien rose and walked away wordlessly. Lilith followed, and Zara trailed behind them toward the portal.
Once through, Lilith unexpectedly reached for Zara’s hand, making her flinch in surprise.
"Let’s go," Lilith said softly—and without waiting, began pulling her along.
Behind them, Seris giggled into her hand."Oh my, look at her go. Lucien, your daughter’s bewitched. My daughter’s sweeping her right off her feet."
Zara, being half-dragged by Lilith, suddenly felt a chill crawl up her spine—icy needles brushing against her skin.
She slowed, heart skipping a beat, and glanced back cautiously.
Her eyes met Lucien’s.
He didn’t say a word. He didn’t need to. That stare—sharp as blades and burning with silent fury—was enough to freeze her soul.
Zara instantly looked away, throat tightening. Why does it feel like I just signed my own death sentence?
Before she could think further, Grace launched forward like a missile, hugging Zara from behind with a squeal."Awww, where are you going, wifey? I’m coming too!" she chirped, rubbing her cheek against Zara’s affectionately.
Zara stiffened.
The murderous aura behind her spiked—thick and oppressive like a storm cloud ready to burst.
Oh gods, Zara thought, panic creeping in. They’re both insane.
She broke into a brisk walk, nearly sprinting to escape the death glare radiating from behind.
Lilith blinked in surprise, then narrowed her eyes when she saw Grace still latched onto Zara like a clingy snake. With a snort, she strode forward and grabbed Zara’s arm, pressing it against her chest.
Outside, Lilith spread her magnificent dark wings and rose gracefully into the sky.
Zara looked at Grace still hanging on."Grace... could you get down? We need to fly."
Grace blinked innocently."Oh, don’t worry~ With your strength, you can carry me. Don’t you want to hold your wife in your arms?" she cooed, melting into Zara’s hold.
Before Zara could protest, Grace repositioned herself in Zara’s arms like a pampered princess.
Zara gave a strained smile. This is going to be the death of me...
Ahead, Lilith glanced back—then halted mid-flight when she saw Grace nestled smugly in Zara’s arms.
Her expression darkened.
"Hmph. Then Zara, carry me too!" she snapped, her voice tight with forced cheer.
Zara blinked.Oh no.
Lilith’s narrowed eyes and not-so-sweet smile made Zara gulp audibly."S-sure... why not..."
From the ground, Rose watched and laughed. Then she called out—loud enough for Lucien to hear:
"Aww, Dad never showed us that kind of affection—and now look at them, swooning over their wife. So sweet!"
The second the words left her mouth, she realized her mistake—and dove behind Thalia.
Lucien turned his head slowly, glare sharper than steel.
Thalia raised her hands in surrender."Whoa! Not me this time! It was Rose!"
Lucien’s eyes slid past her and locked onto Nyssa, who watched the chaos with quiet amusement.
"Nyssa," Lucien said calmly, voice like cracking ice, "these girls clearly need more of your training."
He paused—then added coldly,"And while you’re at it, continue training that girl Zara. Teach her all forms of weaponry... and how to control her blood."
Nyssa’s smile widened, eyes gleaming."With pleasure."
Behind Thalia, Rose whimpered."Why do I talk...?"
A wry smile tugged at Thalia’s lips as she sighed."What did I even do? Why am I included in this?"
Nyssa, overhearing her, turned with a raised brow and crossed her arms."You’ve all gotten soft. I can see it. Too much lounging around—you all clearly need training."
Lucy, standing nearby, nodded in agreement with surprising enthusiasm."Yeah, Mom. These girls spend all day reading romance novels and eating snacks. They definitely need some real action."
Clair, who had been standing quietly beside her, leaned in and whispered under her breath,"Why are you dragging us all down with you, Lucy?"
A smirk spread across Lucy’s face as she stretched lazily."Well, what can I say? I’ve been bored lately. No fights, no chaos. I need something to liven things up."
