Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Pantheon Gods

Lilith leaned in close, her breath brushing against Zara’s ear as she whispered,"Zara, let’s go. We need to take our seats."

Grace, standing beside them, gave a small nod and began walking forward. Snapping out of her daze, Zara quickly followed.

Up ahead, Lucien had already seated himself on a raised platform, his presence commanding. Zara took her place beside Lilith, but her gaze wandered—drawn to the grand stage where powerful figures sat in silence, each exuding an overwhelming aura.

Her eyes paused, blinking in surprise.

There, seated on a throne, was a muscular man with golden-brown hair. His arms were crossed over his broad chest, and arcs of lightning crackled faintly around his body, dancing like living threads of power.

Zara leaned toward Lilith and whispered, curiosity glinting in her eyes,"Lilith, who is that man? Why is there lightning coming from his body?"

Lilith followed her gaze, then replied casually,"Oh, that’s Zeus. King of the Greek Pantheon—and Hera’s husband."

Zara’s eyes widened in shock. That was Hera’s husband? The same Hera who blessed saints and was praised for her divine grace?

As if sensing her gaze, Zeus turned his head. His eyes landed on Zara, and a smirk curled across his lips—shameless and suggestive.

Zara’s expression darkened, her eyes narrowing in disgust. This man... this lecherous, arrogant being is the husband of the goddess Hera?

Zara’s gaze shifted again, this time falling on a striking woman with chestnut-brown hair and piercing green eyes. The woman’s sharp gaze was locked onto Zeus, her eyes narrowing with barely concealed irritation. Her expression alone spoke volumes—an elegant fury simmering just beneath the surface.

That must be Hera... Zara realized, her thoughts swirling with questions.

One by one, more powerful figures began to appear. Some stepped through glowing portals that shimmered like ripples on water, while others simply materialized in flashes of divine energy, their presence shaking the air itself.

Then, in a sudden burst of wind and light, Odin appeared. The All-Father walked with the weight of countless ages behind him and took his seat on the throne prepared for him. His single eye, deep and knowing, swept over the gathering before he finally spoke.

"As the representative," Odin began, his voice echoing across the hall like thunder over mountains, "I will explain the reason for this sudden meeting."

Lucien, resting his elbow on the armrest and chin against his knuckles, gave a silent nod. One by one, the other divine figures seated in the front row did the same.

Odin leaned forward, the air around him heavy with tension."The Demon Lords are rising in power once again. Though we managed to eliminate three of them in the last war, the cost was tremendous. Many of our gods... and countless innocents... fell on that day."

He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in before continuing."Now, they are attempting to unseal the Demon King."

At that name, a flicker of something dark passed through Lucien’s black eyes. He didn’t speak, but the slight narrowing of his gaze spoke volumes—his thoughts running deep.

Just then, a deep, gravelly voice rang out across the chamber.

"haaah what is this again some shitty war,"

Zara turned her head toward the source, and her eyes widened in shock.

There, sitting behind the figure who had spoken, was Jane.

Jane? Zara blinked, stunned to see the arrogant princess.

But Jane, sensing Zara’s gaze, met her eyes for only a moment before narrowing her own and turning away with a cold indifference.

Zara’s lips twitched slightly, the corner of her mouth tightening.

Still that arrogance, huh... Zara thought, her gaze sharpening.

She turned her head toward the figure who had just spoken—a man grinning as he rubbed his hands together, a cocky glint in his eyes. He wore thick fur-lined garments, his rugged appearance radiating a wild, untamed aura. Power clung to him like a storm waiting to break.

Zara tilted her head slightly. Who’s this lunatic?

Odin let out a long sigh, the kind that carried the weight of ancient patience. He pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly familiar with the man’s antics.

"Varek," Odin said in a tired voice, "don’t get excited. You cannot defeat the Demon King."

Varek’s eyes—slit and predatory like a beast’s—narrowed in offense. A growl rumbled in his throat as he stood, shoulders tensing.

"What did you say, you one-eyed fossil?" he barked. "I’m the strongest! Hmph!"

Zara blinked, both amused and slightly concerned.

Beside him, Jane folded her arms, her chin raised high with pride. She nodded in agreement, nose lifted in triumph as if Varek’s delusions of grandeur were shared by her as well.

Suddenly, the air trembled.

A divine presence descended from above—calm, yet immense. A figure materialized in the sky, barefoot, with long black hair flowing like a river of night. A serpent coiled around his neck, its scales shimmering with subtle divine energy. A trident rested against his back, and his half-closed eyes radiated an ancient stillness that silenced the chamber.

All eyes turned toward him—Lord Shiva had arrived.

He hovered for a brief moment before gracefully descending, his gaze falling upon Varek. His expression was serene, but the weight in his voice made the air heavy.

"Varek," Shiva said calmly, "this isn’t about who’s the strongest. If the Demon King is truly unsealed, the realms will be plunged into a war unlike any we’ve ever seen. We must unite—not fight over titles and pride."

The room fell into a solemn hush.

Then, Shiva turned his head toward a platform where the Earth’s representatives stood. His eyes rested on a tall man garbed in an orange robe—Virat.

"Virat," Shiva called out, his voice steady yet commanding, "prepare yourself. War could begin at any moment."

Virat bowed deeply, pressing his palms together in reverence."Yes, Lord Shiva," he said, voice filled with devotion.

Odin opened one eye, his expression a mix of annoyance and curiosity."Shiva," he muttered, "why are you always late?"

Shiva slowly turned his head to look at the All-Father. A faint smile tugged at his lips as he replied,"Odin, I wasn’t late. I’ve been here the entire time."

Lucien chuckled, shaking his head as he glanced at Odin."Well, well. Odin, you didn’t even sense Shiva’s presence? Impressive."

Odin turned his one-eyed gaze toward Lucien with a dry expression."Says the one who still can’t beat me in combat."

Lucien raised an eyebrow but smirked."True, I can’t beat you... but you can’t beat me either."

Varek folded his arms across his chest and barked out a laugh."Yeah, yeah. You two can keep your little love spat. I can beat this bloodsucker any day!"

Lucien’s eyes flicked toward Varek, unimpressed."Oh? You want me to toss you a bowl of dog food while I’m at it?"

"What did you just say?!" Varek snapped, rising halfway from his seat.

Shiva, still floating cross-legged in the air, let out a deep sigh and closed his eyes for a moment."Enough," he said, voice calm but firm. "You’re bickering like children. We need to act, not argue."

Zara sat frozen in place, watching the so-called divine beings squabble like schoolboys in a lunchroom. Her mouth opened slightly in disbelief as she leaned toward Lilith and whispered,"Lilith... why do I feel like these deities are... kind of terrible at talking things out?"

Lilith smirked, not bothering to hide her amusement."Didn’t I tell you already, dear? They’re not as impressive as the stories make them sound. Only God King–level deities are truly on par with the Progenitors."

Zara glanced back at the bickering gods and shook her head slowly.
