The Dragon Prince's Bride
Chapter 98. He went to Lady Regina.

Chapter 98: 98. He went to Lady Regina.

After asking around, Neriah still could not find anyone who knew where Barak had disappeared to. It was like he had vanished into thin air.

Nervously, her fingers were digging into her arms as she looked up at the sky, noting that the day was moving quickly. If he did not return anytime soon then she would have to disregard her fear of having him suspicious and just go

She could not risk not meeting with Lyle. She’d die of heartbreak if she kept him waiting without going to see him. And she also desperately wanted to see him.

"My Lady are you alright?" Aria asked as they walked without any particular direction.

"How can she be alright when she’s been enduring such hardships at the hand of that brute." Riri said. Unlike how she had been doing since she began associating with the tragonians, she had refused to leave Neriah’s side for even a moment. Things were back to the way it always was. Just the tree of them together and Neriah was proud of her lies.

""Greetings to you sister-in-law! May the peace of Narcissus rest upon you."" They heard a sudden enthusiastic greeting and they turned around to find the twins shirtless, holding wooden swords in their hands, with a big smile on their faces.

"" What should we tell her now? How do we even tell her now? We overheard the maids saying she was searching for brother and we both know where he could have gone this morning."" Raku whispered to Raki.

"May the peace of Aveliana rest upon you both." Neriah greeted them back. They were still smiling at her, whispering things to each other. Did they have something to say to her?

"" You say it!"" Raku urged his brother.

""Why am I the one who always talks? You should say it. But she won’t understand a thing we say, so how do we even—""

"" Ah! The fairy! The fairy understands a little of our language maybe she would be able to explain it?"" Raku said and their eyes shifted to Riri who was glaring daggers at them. Neriah saw this and smiled victoriously. It was like the little fairy now hated the mere voice of the tragonians. Nothing had made her this happy in a long time.

"Do you have something to say to me?" She asked but they just smiled at her. She suddenly remembered that yesterday they had taken her to meet Barak. Maybe they heard she was looking for him today and they knew where he was. "Is this about your brother? Do you know where he is?" she asked and once again they smiled like idiots.

""Hey, Riri, can you translate our words for us?"" Raki finally voiced out and Riri eyed him wickedly for even daring to utter her name. "" Why are you staring at me like that? All I asked was a question. You could just say no. Although I know you understood what I said because of how you are glaring at me. So just translate for us.""

"What is it? What is he saying?" Neriah asked Riri.

"Nothing important my lady. Let us move on." She calmly replied with a tender smile to her mistress.

Seeing that Neriah was walking away without hearing what they had to say, Raku shouted, "Brother!!!" And Neriah instantly turned around, looking to see if Barak had returned, but there was no one but them and she muttered some silent curse words in annoyance.

"" Why are you being like this this morning? Just translate for us. We have information on the prince."" Raku finally said and Riri personally did not know why Neriah was searching for the prince, but she wanted to split them apart for as long as possible, so...

"" I do not care to know."" She replied to them and then turned to Neriah. "Let us go, My Lady."

"Wait!" Raki yelled and once again Neriah halted and exhaled with much irritation. She felt like she was dealing with illiterates and it irked her!

"What!"

"Brother, he go." Raki said.

"Hmm?" Neriah hummed a confused question.

"He say," Raku took over, "Brother, he go Lady Regina." He explained to the best of his abilities, but Neriah did not even need more words than that. She got the gist of the matter.

And she most definitely did not like it. "Are you trying to say that your brother, my husband, went to see that woman Regana or Relina or whatever is her name?!" She asked and the boys looked at each other with confusion.

""I do not think she understands what we are saying.""

"" Aye, explain it better!"" Raki urged his brother.

"I say, brother, early morning... he go Lady Regina. House," He made some hand gestures, drawing the shape of a house in the air. "Lady Regina house, brother he go." Raku breathed out like he just finally worn a long battle.

""She should understand it now, right?"" He asked his brother and that one nodded.

Neriah’s hands clenched into a raging fist, her eyes no longer saw thee boys in front of her, they were blurred and all she could see was her dear husband in the arms of that woman! "Aria, do you think they are telling me what I think they are telling me?" She asked.

"Well, my lady from what I could deduce from their words, I would say they mean to tell you that the crown prince has gone to visit the Lady Regina this morning at her house." Aria said and a low unbelievable laugh left Neriah’s lips.

"Riri, confirm for me. Ask them if that is what they are actually saying."

"" Are you saying that His highness, the crown prince, went to meet with Lady Regina since early in the morning?""

She did as her mistress had ordered her to.

"" Ah, finally! That is why we told you to help us translate in the first place!" Raki hissed.

""We saw him going out this early morning. The sun had not even risen when he left. And whenever brother goes out at such an hour, he always goes to meet with Lady Regina at her house."" Raku explained.

"My Lady, yes. They say His Majesty went to meet with that Lady Regina." Riri relayed the message and a sudden outburst of laughter filled the area.

It was Neriah, laughing like a maniac. She laughed so hard that she had to wipe a tear from her eyes... seeing her reaction, the twins quickly disappeared from her sight. She was looking mad.

"M_my lady, are you alright?" Aria asked.

"Me? Why not?" Neriah laughed again. Then her laugh changed to a disdainful scoff. He went to meet with Lady Regina! The nerve of the man to leave his wife in bed so early in the morning just to go meet up with another woman! His so-called best friend!

Who wakes up early in the morning to go meet up with a friend! Did he think she was a fool?! If she was his lover, he should just say so! She did not expect him to be a faithful husband in the first place, nor was she asking such from him.

"So why did he lie?" She scoffed.

"M_my Lady, what do you mean?" Aria asked.

"And he had the nerve to point his dirty fingers at me and call me a liar!" She scoffed and laughed. "And wait, since he already has a Lover, why does he keep doing that with me?!"

"W_what are you talking ab—"

"I cannot believe the nerve of that man. Instead of coming back home last night and then rushing to her side this morning, he should have spent the entire night with her in the first place!" Neriah hissed and Aria could only wonder what exactly she was talking about and why she was talking about it.

"M_my lady, are you angry right now?" She had to ask the question because Neriah looked angry. For what reason? Because the prince spent his morning with someone else?

"What?! What are you saying? What are you even talking about? Why would I be angry? I am just being rational here. Rational and logical. Instead of coming back home and making me suffer in his arms, he could just spend his time with her instead. That will save us both the trouble of seeing each other’s face." Neriah shrugged and breathed in and out.

To think she was waiting to get his permission to go see her precious Lyle. Well that plan was thrown out the window the moment she heard he was with another woman!

"Aria, tell them to prepare a horse, I am going out."

"What!" The woman almost screamed.

"M_my lady, where are you going?" Riri asked.

"Please do not tell me that you plan on going to the house of that Lady Regina to cause a ruckus. That would be reckless and demeaning and very bad for your reputation my lady." Aria rushed in front of her and tried to talk her out of doing something that would make her look less like a princess.
