Chapter 96: 96. Let us run away.
"She would not have recognized it because back in Avelah I used the clavel flower to make the potions and it would come out in a pink color. But with the Layla flower, you would have a sort of dark purplish hue because it is more powerful and potent than the clavel flower." Riri explained and Neriah breathed out a silent sigh of relief.
She was saved!
"I cannot believe he is such a monster." Aria hissed bitterly, wiping Neriah’s tears. "After he released us and brought me and Riri with you, I thought he was a person with feelings and emotions too. I even thought he was kind! But what?! He beat you, forced himself upon you and then gave you a healing potion to hide his wicked deeds! Ahhh!" Aria screamed.
"I have never met anyone as wicked and vile as that beast! And to think I was starting to see him and his people in a different light! I was starting to even believe they were not as barbaric as we thought! But I did not know my lady had been suffering endlessly!" She fumed and Neriah nodded, wiping away the fake tears from the side of her eyes.
"I swear I shall report him to his father and mother this instant! They have to know of his hidden atrocities!" Aria stomped her feet and Neriah’s eyes widened.
"No!!" She screamed.
"What do you mean no! If we do not voice out, my lady yoh will continue suffering in the hands if that monster and one day I will walk in here and it won’t be your crying face I find, but you very own corpse!!" She yelled and Riri and Neriah could suddenly see the vivid picture in their heads, the picture of a dead Neriah on the bed with bruises all over her body.
They both waved their hands in the air, wiping away the invisible picture of her dead body. "But you cannot go to the. You—"
"Ah, I understand what you are saying. Since he is like that, who is to say they are any better!" Riri suddenly said and Neriah could kiss the fairy at that point. She was always concluding stuff by herself.
"Aye! Exactly." Neriah nodded.
Aria remained silent for some seconds, then she spoke, "That is true. They might side with their son. No, not might, they would most definitely take their son’s side." She nodded.
"Aye, so we cannot go to them." Neriah said.
"Then, my lady... let us run away." Aria suddenly said.
"What?!" Neriah and Riri yelled in sync.
"I will find a way to help you escape from this beast of a man my lady, so..." she held Neriah’s hands again and looked into her eyes, "let us run away."
...
"I thought now that you are married I will no longer have to suffer these early morning training sessions. Are you not supposed to be in bed cuddling your dear princess, Your highness?" Regina asked as they both sat alone on a bench next to each other, staring at the day that was quickly getting brighter and brighter.
He had taken an extremely early morning stroll on his white steed and ended up in her home. The servants and guards knew who he was and needed to ask no single questions when he had headed straight to their training ground and sent for her.
They had sparred for some time and now they rested... The training ground was still empty, but it was almost time for her family guards and knights to start trooping in for their scheduled training sessions.
"I see the potion I gave you yesterday worked wonders. You seem even stronger this morning." He chuckled, not wanting to answer her question.
She scoffed and then she chuckled, "Aye. My arm was sore but after drinking that, the bruise completely disappeared instantly and I felt refreshed. What did you give me?!" She asked and laughed and he laughed too.
"I do not know." He sincerely said.
"What!" she yelled with her eyes open wide. "Did you give me a potion you knew nothing about?!" She screamed and grabbed his tunic as though she was ready to fight him all over again.
"No, I mean I just saw Barni and Riri concocting something with the Layla flower and she said it was used in making a healing potion, they needed to test it and I remembered you hurt your arm when we sparred. I was only thinking of your well being."
"Thinking of my well being, my foot!" She hissed and finally let go of his tunic. "You are lucky it did not turn out to be a weird potion that turns a person into a goat! I would have killed you! How could you use me for the experiment of those two?! Crazy Barni and Little red together! If I really had turned to a goat, I would have killed you." She hissed and he laughed.
"I can imagine you as a very stubborn goat." He said and she slapped him hard on his arm and he just laughed.
A warm and comfortable silence passed between them as his laughs died down. They just watched as the sky got brighter and little and large birds were beginning their usual journey. It was also getting noisier, which signified that indeed people had awoken up, and were beginning their day.
"Why did you come here this morning, Bar?" She asked and he turned his head and stared into her eyes. "Tell me the truth Bar, you did not just come here to spar with me. What is weighing on your heart?" She asked and all he did was stare at her.
Those reddish gold eyes always had a way of calming him. Every time he had worries, every time his mind was all jumbled up, be it at home, or on the battleground, they always had a way of giving him courage. He was always able to let everything out when he stared into those eyes... They were sincerely calming.
