Chapter 101: 101. He has to die.
It was him! She was certain.
Immediately, she turned around to see him standing behind her. She tried to drag in air into her lungs and she could not. It was stuck.
She could not believe it. She could not believe that he was really standing there before her. After so long, he was standing right in front of her and she wanted to just bury herself in his embrace.
"Come with me." He whispered to her while looking around carefully as he pulled her along with him. Silently, with tears in her eyes, all the while still gasping for breath, she followed him, until they reached a corner of the store, behind some rolls of clothes was a wooden door. He opened the door and pulled her into the room.
"Ly—" she tried to say his name but before she could, his lips rested upon hers. His arm wrapped around her body like he meant to bury her in his embrace, never had he kissed her the way he was kissing her. He was using his tongue too.
And she opened up for him, gave him full access into her mouth. "Breathe, breathe my love." He whispered over her lips, "Try to breathe through your nose." He muttered the words so lovingly that she finally found the courage to actually breathe and when she did as he told her to, he took her lips again. Devouring her mouth like a beast hungry for its favorite food, he held her even closer. At some point, he pressed her back upon the door and kissed her even harder.
"Lyle—" she muttered into his lips, "wait." She pleaded, but it seemed his ears had been blocked with wool for his assaults on her lips continued and she wrapped her arms around his neck to be able to match his pace. Thanks to all her kissing sessions with her dear husband, this was really nothing much that she could not handle. She could handle this much pressure.
He placed his hand underneath her hips and lifted her off the ground, wrapping her legs around his waist as he kissed her further.
They kissed and kissed for long minutes and slowly, they broke away from each other’s lips, just hugging each other, taking in the scent of one another.
He rested his head next to hers that rested deeply upon his shoulder, and he whispered into her ear, "I missed you. I missed you so much that I thought I would die." He kissed her head as he spoke.
"I missed you too, my love." She said, "I missed you so much. You have no idea the things I have had to suffer in the hands of those barbarians."
"Forgive me. For being so incompetent."
"No, ’tis not your fault. My wicked parents are to blame. They forced me into a marriage I did not want." She cried into his shoulder. "Every minute I spend with that barbarian feels like a million years of suffering."
He moved and she felt him place her upon something. She lifted her head from his shoulder and opened her eyes and saw it was a table. The room was sort of dark compared to the outside that was shining bright.
But she could still see him. Could see the beautiful man before her. The man she had been betraying by sleeping with another. She felt a sharp pain in her chest at the thought of her betrayal. "Oh forgive me my love but I have betrayed you. I could not fight off that monster. He made me do it. I did not want to, but he made me do it with him again. Please believe me, my love. I love you and only you. Please do not hate me." She cried and tears flowed down her cheeks. She was being sincere but she still wondered why her words seemed like they were meant for herself? She felt like she was not only trying to reassure him that she loved him, but also reassure herself.
Nonsense! She loved him.
"Neriah, Neriah look at me my dear. If anyone is to blame for the things that have happened to you, then it is I." He nodded and wiped her tears with his thumb.
Gently, he cupped her face in his palms, "I failed to protect the one person I love, so I can never hate you. If anything, I prayed everyday that you would still love me. That you would not hate me for being useless. I prayed I had not lost you completely to that barbarian."
"No! No, my love. Even if he takes my body over and over again, he will never have my heart. My heart longs for you every time. I want only you. And I try to keep even my body for you alone, but I am powerless against that man." She hissed, hating herself for being weak whenever that man held her.
"Oh Lyle, please take me away." She begged. "Take me away from here. I want to be with you and you alone." She begged, placing her head on his chest and wrapping her arms around his body. "Take me away. I do not want to spend another minute with that man. Please."
His arms held her and his fingers stroked her hair, "You want to escape him forever right?" He asked in a low calming whisper.
"Aye . I wish to escape him forever. I do not wish to spend another day with him." She nudged into his chest as she spoke.
"Then Neriah we have to kill him." Her hands that held him gradually began to drop as the words sank deeper and deeper into her entire body and her head slowly rose from his chest.
She lifted her head and eyes to stare at him and he was staring back at her. She had no idea when the word left her lips, "w_what?"
"It is as I said Neriah. Barak Der Drache has to die."
