The Devil Doctor's Spicy Love
Chapter 95: Not a pushover

Chapter 95: Not a pushover

They quickly rushed out and saw a woman fainting at a distance from where the alarm sound was coming.

"Excuse me, what happened here?" Jia quickly asked in concern.

Her friends anxiously replied on her behalf. "Mine is not good with thriller rides, yet she rode on the rollercoaster. She was feeling sick when we got out and stumbling just now...W-Where is the infirmary? She needs help!"

The horror house attendant was about to respond when Mingshen made his way, dropping the heart beats of all the friends.

Oh my, a gorgeous man!

For a moment, they totally forgot about their fainting friend in need but broke out of their reverie quickly enough.

Mingshen lifted the young woman in his arms and walked to a shaded area under a tree. He placed her on the bench while the alarm kept ringing in the background.

"Stop this alarm," he ordered.

One of the friends quickly took off the watch while Mingshen checked her pulse. Mine’s pale complexion looked a little better after being brought into the shade, but she still had difficulty in breathing. Mingshen tilted her head backwards, opening her airway. A few minutes later, her breaths steadied and she groggily opened her eyes.

"Mine! You idiot. You shouldn’t have forced yourself." Her friends cried and surrounded her.

"So...Sorry guys..."

Jia sighed in relief.

Mine dazedly looked at Mingshen and her eyes popped out of her sockets.

Oh my, a gorgeous man!

"Wh-who is he?"

Is he my prince? She dreamily gazed at him.

Oh dear. Please don’t fall for his looks, Jia pitied Mine.

"He is a doctor who helped you."

"M-My prince is a doctor?" She blushed.

"..."

"I would prefer if you call me the devil," Mingshen smiled. "Sheltered princes feel like puppets. Devils are badass who pull the strings."

Ahhhh, a breathtaking devil! They gushed.

The attendant asked, confused. "Why did the alarm ring though?"

Mine answered. "Oh, it’s a smart watch. It’s really cool. It can ring an alarm to alert emergency services if the wearer’s heart rate drops. Perhaps it rang because I fainted."

"I have heard of it. Useful product indeed," Mingshen commented.

Jia stared at the watch and asked, "Can I take a look?"

"Sure."

She studied the watch and furrowed her brows, recalling a bit of a conversation.

’Shilin, look at my new watch. Dad brought it for me~ Look at the display. It’s so slick. Ah no, why is it flickering?’

"Isn’t this the same model which Anhe has?" Jia muttered.

One of Mine’s friends heard her and said, "Oh this is a new model that just arrived in the market. It’s already become so popular. You will find many people having this watch, haha. It’s really cool! When the wearer is in a medical emergency, it not only starts to ring an alarm for nearby emergency services but also video records the background. The video recording part is actually a security feature."

Jia’s eyes widened. "Does it really record video?"

Mine said, "Yes. It must have recorded our situation now too. Wait, I will show you. It automatically gets uploaded in the cloud once the alarm stops."

She quickly tapped in and showed her. "See?"

Jia and Mingshen leaned in and as expected, the watch had recorded the commotion unfold with both of them arriving and talking to Mine’s group. It also showed Mingshen doing first-aid until the friend took the watch off Mine’s wrist.

"But that’s strange," Jia said, "A young girl had an accident this morning in the horror house. I recall she was wearing this same watch but in her case, the alarm never rang."

Mine looked thoughtful and then it clicked her. "Well it can be a technical malfunction? Though the chances are pretty low. It’s pretty sturdy. But yes. You can also manually switch off the alarm feature. It’s obviously not recommended. But the watch constantly monitors your heart rate, so if there is less battery, then switching off the feature helps conserve it. Maybe the girl disabled it herself?"

Jia remembered Anhe tapping on her watch in mild frustration as she was showing it to Shilin.

She smiled at Mine. "Thanks a lot for the information. Please take care and don’t push yourself hard."

She then eyed Mingshen. "We need to go back to the hospital now."

Brightside University.

"So this is how you will force her to delete your video," Huojin gave her phone back. He made a fair guess of Anhe’s middle school’s past with the picture. "What was in it if I may ask?"

Beiye smiled. "A video of me getting changed."

Ahh. That is a grave problem. Anhe could easily post it anonymously on social media sites and then...

"Wait but this all happened last year, right? Why haven’t you still acted yet?"

She shook her head. "The beauty contest chaos occurred last year. But this thing about my recording happened around two months back."

He blinked. "I thought you two already parted ways last year after the incident."

"How I thought so too~ But apparently, she wasn’t so pleased when she saw me and Shilin talking one day. I was in a pinch and he just helped me out. Anhe blew it out of proportion feeling that I was seducing him. The whole college knows how she feels about him so...but she made a huge mistake. I sucked it up the first time but not always. Like I said, I am not a pushover."

"Hmm..."

Huojin leaned back with his palms on the grass, staring at the evening sky with a thoughtful look. "Will you listen to me if I ask you not to threaten Anhe with the picture?"

The guys exchanged glances and sneered at him with disdain. Beiye was more amused than offended. "This is tit for tat, you know."

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind," he smiled. "You don’t have to walk down the same path as she did. Rest assured about the recordings. Since they were taken without consent for bullying and harassment, we will issue a court order for her to delete those. It’s a violation of privacy."

"That doesn’t sound a least bit enjoyable. But I might give it a thought if I can kiss you on your cheek."

"That’s still a no."

"Or maybe let me smoke a cigarette."

"Not good for your health."

"Don’t you think you are quite inflexible when I have the upper hand here?" Beiye lazily smiled.

"That’s Mo Huojin for you."

Beiye curiously met his eyes. His unyielding stature and stubbornness felt like she was drinking a refreshing lemonade.

"Alright. Since you asked me so nicely, I will not threaten her with the picture which I found so painstakingly, provided you guarantee that my video is deleted from her phone and all backups."

"Deal."

The guys booed. Qigang rolled his eyes. "You turned out to be so boring, Beiye."

She shrugged.

"By the way, did your Inspector friend figure out who hurt Anhe?"

Huojin was reading Jia’s text at the same time as she asked the question.

"Well turns out it’s all three."
