Chapter 32: An Interesting Idea or Maybe Just a Foolish Ones

"Dungeon level S? That’s the same dungeon where Erika was trapped," explained Aoi.

"Yes, you’re right, Aoi. Could this be a coincidence?"

The female blacksmith looked shocked, not because Agares and Aoi were talking about Young Lady Erika Thorn.

She was shocked because she saw a talking white fox on Agares’ shoulder.

"I-Is it a demon?" the woman pointed at the white fox.

Agares turned his head, noticing that the female blacksmith knew something was different about the white fox.

Aoi reflexively covered her mouth and hid inside Agares’ black hood. Agares drew his sword and pointed it forward to threaten her.

"If you don’t tell anyone about this, I’ll let you live."

"Who are you, sir?"

"Congratulations, you’re very lucky to meet me. My name is Agares, I am the saber they are looking for."

"And you, you have three seconds to decide whether you are on the side of the empire or mine," threatened Agares.

The woman was even more frightened. Now, everything was clear. The man in front of her was Agares, the man who had been sought after by the Great Empire and four other kingdoms. The man standing in front of her was the most wanted man on the entire continent.

But Agares also held her life in his hands. She was afraid of death. She thought she was too young to die, especially at the hands of a criminal like Agares.

In the end, the female blacksmith cleared her throat and nodded slowly. She said firmly that she would not tell anyone about Agares. But she asked for one thing in return.

"You, as a Saber knight, must make all your armor and swords for me. I am your only blacksmith. Do you understand?" asked the woman.

’She let me go but asked me to make a deal. This is interesting,’ thought Agares.

"Of course. I will decide whether you are worthy of being my private blacksmith after I gather these materials."

"If you can meet my expectations, then not only me, but all the soldiers in the Thorn noble family will place orders for armor and spears from you."

"Do you understand your duties?" asked Agares, making sure.

"Yeah. I’m sure I can make that tier six armor and sword."

Agares nodded with a smile. He put his sword in his magic pouch and said goodbye. Agares left a pointed message for her, which left the blacksmith woman speechless.

"No one knows my identity except those in the Thorn Noble Family. If any rumors about me spread in this city, I know I must find out who to kill."

"Don’t worry, sir. I’m good at keeping secrets if you’re willing to fulfill our agreement," the woman replied.

Without responding to the woman’s words, Agares stepped away from the blacksmith’s shop and returned to the Thorn family residence.

Aoi reappeared from inside Agares’ hood, relieved that they had left the blacksmith’s shop.

"I’m sorry, Master Ares. My carelessness revealed your identity," said Aoi.

"It’s no problem. You actually made it easier for me. I actually wanted to make her my personal blacksmith," replied Agares.

"But maybe things didn’t go according to plan, but the result is what I expected."

"Is that so?" asked Aoi, making Agares turn his head.

He smiled and stroked the white fox’s head, making Aoi’s eyes close comfortably under the soft touch of Agares’ fingers. She looked like a spoiled cat.

"Next time, don’t say anything and act like a normal fox. I’m worried that they’ll find out your identity, it could endanger you and me."

She didn’t speak, but responded with a nod. Aoi heard what Agares said. She was determined not to disappoint Master Ares again. This was the last time she would be careless.

Agares arrived at the Thorn family residence carrying the tier four sword he had bought. His steps stopped when he saw Natalya Thorn standing behind the door, waiting for Agares’ arrival.

’It’s her again!’ Agares complained, annoyed.

"Are you waiting for me?" Agares asked casually.

"You know your mission, right?"

"To save Erika? Of course I know."

"Let me come with you!" Natalya said firmly, surprising Agares.

’So sudden. What does she want?’ Agares wondered.

Aoi stared intently ahead, focusing on Erika Thorn’s mother. She wanted to know what was in Natalya’s heart that had surprised Agares.

’I don’t need your permission. I am Erika’s mother. I have the right to come with you!’

’When we’re outside, I’ll tell the city guards to trap you. That way, I can get the reward money from the Caer Vireth Palace!’

The white fox gasped, its eyes wide. It gently scratched Agares’ face, wanting to get his attention.

Success! Agares turned and saw Aoi’s face, which looked anxious and frightened. Its tail was stiff and tense, its mouth was open, and its posture was aggressive with its ears perked up.

’Is she angry? What’s going on?

’Could she know what that woman is planning?’

"How is it, Agares?" asked Natalya, confirming.

"I’m just carrying out my mission. I have no right to refuse or allow you to join," replied Agares.

"Excuse me. I have to get ready."

Not wanting to argue with the woman for long, Agares stepped up to return to his room.

Natalya watched Agares leave. She didn’t need to ask Agares for permission. She was going to leave anyway.

"Once you leave the city, you’re dead, Agares!"

Arriving in his room, Agares immediately locked the door and walked over to his bed. Aoi immediately told him as she jumped onto the nightstand.

"That witch plans to kill you, Master Ares!" Aoi said firmly.

"Kill me? I already knew that. From the beginning, she has never been nice to me," Agares replied.

Agares asked Aoi to tell him more about Natalya’s plan to kill him. Aoi nodded and told him everything, and Agares listened intently.

In short, Agares knew that Natalya was going to trap him with the city troops. They would surround Agares and arrest him.

They had only one purpose: to get the gold from the Caer Vireth Palace.

That was because Agares’ head was worth around 1,000 gold coins, which was what Agares had heard from the bald blacksmith in Hurdor City.

"Trapping me, huh? It seems like she’s been planning this and told the city guards," Agares replied.

"But why didn’t they arrest you in the city?" asked Aoi.

"They want to maintain peace and stability in the city. If a battle broke out in the city, they’re afraid I would destroy many things."

"Choosing an area outside the city is the right move for them—no losses and no surprises."

"Then what should we do?" Aoi asked, curious.

Agares fell silent, then turned his head and walked toward the window. He looked down and saw many horse-drawn carriages arriving that afternoon, carrying passengers—adventurers and ordinary merchants alike.

An interesting idea crossed Agares’ mind to trick them.

"I think I know what to do."

"What?" asked Aoi.

"We’ll become horse-drawn carriage drivers."

"Eh?"
