Chapter 20: Brothel and Hideout

Agares took out the items from the bald man’s magic bag. He didn’t expect there to be so many items inside.

"Nyx," Agares called out.

[Standby Mode Deactivated]

[Do you need anything, Master?]

The man stared ahead, clearly seeing the bald man’s many items floating in front of him. Agares ordered Nyx to start identifying the materials so that Agares would know the uses of each item.

[Items:]

[12 Obsidian Shards]

[30 Iron Ore]

[5 Gravium Ore]

[1 Mythrill Ore]

[3 Gold Coin Pouches]

[7 Silver Coin Pouches]

[12 Copper Coin Pouches]

Agares knew that the floating stones before him must be closely related to his work as a blacksmith. However, he did not know the properties and rarity of the four mineral materials in front of him.

"How rare are those four mineral items, Nyx?" Agares asked.

[The rarity of the four items is different. You can see it clearly in the list below:]

[Name] [Rarity] [Description]

[1. Copper Ore] [Common] [A mixture of soil and copper, a basic material for making stone houses]

[2. Iron Ore] [Common] [A material made from stone and iron, used as a base material for advanced houses and weapons]

[3. Obsidian Shard] [Uncommon] [A material made from iron and natural obsidian minerals, the best material for making tier three armor]

[4. Gravium Ore] [Uncommon] [Pure Gravium material, cannot be used as a base construction material, useful for making tier four armor and swords]

[5. Mythrill Ore] [Rare] [Rare Mythrill material, only useful for making armor and weapons above tier 5]

Agares remained silent. Only one material had an extremely rare rarity level: Mythrill Ore. The rest were ordinary mineral items ranked Common and Uncommon.

Even so, the mineral materials were still valuable. Perhaps Agares could sell them later and earn more money. For now, Agares just needed to find a way to save himself.

He directed the items to float into his magic bag. Agares turned his head and saw the woman still watching him from inside the house, her gaze full of curiosity.

"Who are you, sir?" the woman asked, unaware of Agares’ true identity.

Agares smiled slightly; there was no need for the woman to know who he was. The most important thing was that they could work together and she didn’t threaten his life. That way, Agares wouldn’t have to bother killing her.

Once the situation had calmed down, Agares opened the door and walked away from the woman’s house.

When he arrived at the main street of the city, he was shocked to see many heavily armored soldiers guarding the area near the blacksmith’s shop where the bald man had died.

’I can’t leave in this situation. I have to hide immediately,’ replied Agares.

Agares decided to leave the place and return to the woman’s house. Suddenly, the soldiers had gathered there and were interrogating the woman again.

Agares’ arrival caught their attention. They shouted loudly, ordering their men to chase after Agares.

"Chase him!" said the leader of the soldiers.

"Damn!"

Agares ran away from the area and made his way through the narrow alleys, trying to evade the soldiers’ pursuit.

To his surprise, Agares saw the soldiers firing red flares into the sky, signaling that they had found him.

"Activate the skill!" Agares said firmly.

"Saber Skill: Shadow Cleave!"

Agares’ eyes glowed a deep purple, a stream of dark energy flowing from his hands into his new sword. At a safe distance, Agares turned around and swung his sword sideways.

A slashing shadow attack rushed forward, hitting the group of soldiers and causing a purple explosion, the soldiers’ bodies were pushed back, injured.

’My power is not enough to kill them,’ replied Agares.

After passing through many twists and turns in the narrow alley, Agares finally managed to escape from them. He stood on the main road of the city, in a different district from the bald blacksmith’s shop.

"Sir... do you want to have some fun?" asked one of the women, wearing a revealing outfit, who came to offer her body to Agares.

Agares smiled. He grabbed the woman’s hand and led her into one of the rooms. The woman smiled, she had gotten her first customer of the day. However, Agares’s intention was not to have sex with her.

’They will check every room. They will find out if I have sex with her,’ replied Agares.

He pushed the naked woman onto the mattress. Agares opened the door and looked for a man.

Once he found one, Agares invited the man into his room and told him to take his place and have sex with the woman.

"Have sex with her!" Agares said firmly.

"But I don’t have any money!"

"I’ll pay. Hurry up!"

The man was confused, while the woman was a little disappointed because the man who was having sex with her was ugly, unlike Agares, who was handsome and athletic.

"If any soldiers come looking for me, tell them I fled south," said Agares. The man nodded in understanding.

Agares hid under the bed, where the woman was having sex with a stranger Agares had picked up on the street.

Soon, the city soldiers arrived. Agares was right, they entered the room even though there was a couple having sex there.

"That man... went south."

"South? Are you sure?" asked the soldier.

"Why would I lie?! Hurry up and leave, you’re bothering me, you bastard!"

The soldier walked out, closing the door. The group of soldiers headed south as the man had said.

Once it was safe, Agares crawled out and took out five silver coins. The woman was shocked; the price for having sex with her was three silver coins.

"Consider it a gift for you," said Agares.

The man kissed the woman’s lips softly, making her feel a little happy. Agares opened the door and stepped out onto the street. From a distance, he could vaguely see the soldiers sweeping the southern area.

’Where should I hide now?’ asked Agares.

"It seems like the city soldiers are looking for you, Agares," said a woman.

The voice came from the side, specifically from the brothel. Agares lifted his head and saw a woman in her late twenties standing on the balcony of the house.

She looked elegant in her sexy maroon dress, her long wavy hair flowing down her back in a reddish hue.

"You? How do you know about me?" asked Agares.

"I’ve never seen city soldiers act so aggressively. If it weren’t for a saber, they probably wouldn’t have chased you this far," she replied.

"A saber?" asked another woman, looking shocked.

"What do you want?" asked Agares, confirming.

The woman smiled broadly, raising a glass of wine. She turned gracefully, her eyes fixed on Agares.

Agares gasped, noticing that the woman’s eyes were red, not from blood, but from her red pupils. For some reason, when Agares looked at her, he felt familiar with her power.

"How about we talk about it over some wine. You don’t mind, do you?"

The man was silent, then turned back to the side and watched the city soldiers return to this place. If Agares didn’t decide quickly, he could be arrested by them.

The red-haired woman saw the same thing, she smiled as her eyes returned to her wine glass.

"Decide quickly. The city prison isn’t a comfortable place for you," the woman replied.

"Alright. But if you try to deceive me, I’ll kill you!" Agares threatened.

"Don’t worry, Sir Agares. I won’t do such a thing. I have sworn an oath to someone," replied the woman, her pupils glowing bright red.

"Sworn to whom?"

"When the time comes, you will know."
