"What do you think about this dress, Miss?" Ada asked, holding up a purple dress that looked so gorgeous and breathtaking.

However, I shrugged and nodded. "It’s pretty."

Ada held the dress against her chest and let out a sigh. "You’ve given the same responses to the last four dresses, ma’am." She gently pointed out and I let out another sigh as I slumped into the seat behind me.

"That’s because I don’t want to go to this... ball." I let out through another sigh.

This wasn’t how I imagined attending my first ball was gonna be like. I imagined it being in a completely different way, of it being of my own will, and with someone that I love by my side. Not this way, whereby I’m literally being forced to.

"The ball is gonna be so much fun though!" She breathed out enthusiastically but all I could do was to let out another sigh.

Iris returned at that moment with a bunch of shoes which she lined up before me, urging me to pick one. I was too uninterested to even appreciate the beautiful shoes lined up before me so I shrugged and asked her to pick anyone she thought was the best. I told Ada the same thing, and after they selected different things for me, a bath was ran for me.

In the bath, as the maids waited for me to be done, I began to ask them some questions.

"What’s the ball about anyway?" I asked and the both sighed at the same time.

"It’s... dreamy. That’s the word." Iris breathed out first and Ada nodded enthusiastically beside her.

"It’s a ball that gets hosted annually in order to celebrate the entire people who’ve managed to find their mate or chosen mate in the past year." Ada revealed this time and Iris nodded again.

"It’s a really large party. The pack’s alpha king would give his prayers to the recently mated couples, and the moon goddess would come down in the body of the pack’s priestess to bless the womb of every recently mated woman." Iris revealed and I nodded slowly as I absorbed all their words.

I already know I wouldn’t be a part of those group of people, tonight and I was unsure of if I was supposed to be sad about that or not.

I’d give anything for my womb to be blessed. As a hybrid, I was barren by default. I wasn’t even sure if a prayer from a priestess could work, but I’d have liked to still give it a try. My birthright was to be a luna, but instead, my sister got that in my place, leaving me with absolutely nothing.

"Can you tell me about Prince Damon?" I asked after a few moments. I’ve been curious about this since I got here and if really like to hear what he’s like.

"Ah, Prince Damon is... he’s fearless, ruthless and very strong." Iris revealed and I nodded, having already figured that out.

"He has conquered a lot of packs along with his two brothers. They do a lot of things together, are always together and even bed a woman together. Isn’t that crazy?" Irls glanced at Ada at the end of her sentence. Ada shrugged.

"I don’t know, being bedded by theee hot men at the same time sounds very hot." She mumbled and Iris gaped at her in shock.

"That’s a little weird, you have to admit it. Alphas are possessive in nature, so how are they comfortable sharing a woman?"

I felt my face grow a little hot at this point, because I remember them admiring it to my face that it was a normal thing for them.

For a moment, I imagined myself between the three of them, completely naked with their hands all over every inch of my sweaty body...

I blushed even more as I forced that ridiculous thought to the back of my mind, and that’s when I realized Ada and Iris were staring at me.

"Are you okay, ma’am?" Iris asked tentatively and I nodded fast as I splashed the bath water over my face to cool it down.

"O- of course." I whispered before clearing my throat.

"So, about the triplets, are they always absent from this palace?" I asked this time.

"Usually, they’re separated because they’re heading different branches of this particular pack. But it’s just for about two weeks. They’re together most of the time and they do a lot of things together." Ada explained before adding. "They even have a pack house that they spend a lot of time together in."

For a moment, I wondered if that’s where they take the women they fuck together to. Disgust quickly flooded my mind before I shoved the thought aside.

"I’m guessing you’re yet to meet the remaining two princes. You’ll see them at the ball tonight cause I believe Prince Damon might introduce you to them." Iris sighed out excitedly as she helped me out of the bath water.

I didn’t bother explaining to her that I’ve met the remaining two princes, or that I hate the three of them, cause it was pointless.

As I got helped into a beautiful silver dress, I let my mind wander, imagining how tonight was gonna go.

"Don’t forget to have fun, ma’am." They both called out as I exited the bedroom and even as I nodded and told them I’d try, I knew I really wouldn’t.

A car was waiting right outside the Prince’s wing and I got into it after being told it was from Prince Damien.

The car drove out the palace, then down the road I assumed was the ball’s location. It was apparently about thirty minutes away.

I relaxed into the car and kept staring out the window, till it felt like thirty minutes had passed. Before I could ask the driver why it was taking so long, the car pulled up before a large hall where muted noise was coming from.

As I was helped out of the car by the driver, I stood before the looming door, feeling nerves fill up my insides for a moment before I reminded myself that nothing was gonna happen and that it was just like a normal party like Damon had said.

Then as I stepped forward, the guards positioned before the doors stepped forward.

"Good evening, ma’am. What do we announce you as?"

I struggled for a response to go with. I want to demand to be introduced with just my name. But technically, I’m supposed to be known as Damon’s mistress.

Begrudgingly, I spoke.

"As his hignness Prince Damon’s Mistress."
