The Crown's Seduction -
Chapter 400: Motivation
Chapter 400: Motivation
Mineah was still very much active in her duties to the kingdom despite being nine months into pregnancy. Currently, she was in the southern part of Valcrez doing some charity work as scheduled, and thankfully, there was nothing amiss at the moment.
"Time sure flies quickly. After that relaxing summer, the whole kingdom became busy again," Zaila mumbled beside Dani. "Fall’s already here, and now winter is coming once again in the blink of an eye."
Mineah simply let out a sigh from the sidelines. She felt bad that she had to drag her shadow maidens with her most of the time, especially now that she was also nearing her due date for her baby. Her husband was being overprotective as well, even making it a point to check on her through their bond every once in a while.
[The meeting is finished,] Nikolai suddenly told her through their bond. [How about I go there to accompany you right now?]
[I’m almost done here too, Lai, so I will follow you there shortly,] Mineah replied back. [You’re in an important event, so you should stay there and take this opportunity to properly talk about possible deals with nearby kingdoms. Also, see if we can give some support and assistance to some kingdoms that might need it.]
[But how are you feeling?] he insisted. [I can’t just be at ease thinking you might give birth at any moment now.]
[I’m really almost done here and will be there as early as tomorrow, Lai,] Mineah chuckled in response. [Should I remind you that we’ll be using Dani’s teleportation spell? I’ll be there in a snap without you even realizing it.]
Letting out a sigh, Nikolai finally as their conversation died out. From there, Mineah then turned to her friends who were currently busy giving away some relief goods to their people.
"Dani, hurry up," Zaila reminded. "Let’s finish this quickly."
"You’re always in a hurry. Don’t worry, the Global Summit is a long event, so we’ll arrive early enough to witness it before it even ends..." Dani reassured with a grin.
"But we already missed the introductions for each ruler," Zaila pouted. "I heard it was fun hearing how they were introduced one by one by the host!"
"Zaila, just hurry up instead of talking so we can finish on time," Niran interrupted.
As her shadow maidens did their thing, Mineah had a wide smile on her face as she continued giving away fruits to some of the kids they came across.
"Your Majesty, does it hurt?" one of the children asked.
"Not really..." she answered with a smile.
"But it looks so big. I bet you feel so bloated," commented another boy who was immediately scolded by his mother.
Mineah simply chuckled in amusement and winked in response. "Indeed, I feel bloated at the moment, but any inconvenience is worth it knowing I will soon deliver a baby that will grow up to be just as adorable as all of you."
Her words had the desired effect as the children blushed at her words and started teasing one another.
"But I’m not adorable..."
Mineah frowned as she looked for the child she just heard speak those words. There, she saw a boy with his head down.
"Come here, dear," she called. "Look at me. Don’t be shy..."
The boy came to her, and she immediately noted that he had a deep scar on his lips that almost looked as if he had a closed cleft on his lip. Still, there was no doubt how handsome he was. The boy stared deep into her eyes, and as usual, couldn’t help but read the boy’s thoughts only to find out about the bullying he had to suffer because of how he looked.
Her jaw clenched, but managed to keep a smile on her face as she asked, "What is your name, child?"
"Malik, Your Majesty." the boy, whom Mineah assumed to be seven years old, replied.
"Well then, Malik, look into my eyes. Do you see how I have different colored irises? Not everyone has this," she started with her kindest smile. "Because I look a bit different from others, they easily judged me. Some say I’m cursed, while some say that I will bring nothing but misfortune. Some even say that I am nothing and that I can’t do anything aside from having a beautiful face. But you know what I always keep in mind, Malik? Whenever I hear negative things about me?"
"What is it, Your Majesty?" Malik curiously asked.
"Always remember that it’s not your appearance that defines who you are, but it is your actions and who you are as a person," Mineah encouraged, hoping that her words would enlighten and comfort the boy despite his young age. "Show them how great a person you are. Let those negative comments become your motivation to strive and grow up to be a great man, Malik."
The boy took a bit to absorb her words. Before long, a smile formed on his face as he stared brightly at her. "Thank you, your Majesty," he enthusiastically answered. "I’ll remember this and make sure that I’ll grow up to be a strong and great man!"
"Your Majesty, we’re done here!" Zaila interrupted.
Hearing one of her maidens’ reminders, Mineah patted the young boy’s head and said, "Alright then. I’ll look forward to it, Malik."
Mineah then bid her farewell to the children and the townspeople before she and her shadow maidens proceeded to take their leave.
"Are we all good now?" Dani asked everyone who was currently with them. "We finish earlier than expected then."
Once again, Mineah simply watched Dani handle everything. Among all of her shadow maidens, only she was the one who managed to perfect the teleportation spell at this current time. Mineah could still perform it herself, but her overprotective husband wouldn’t let her do so at the moment, so she simply obeyed him to put him at ease.
"I’m so excited!" Zaila burst, making Niran roll her eyes.
"Excited to meet new male species again!" Laura interrupted with a teasing scoff. "Alright, let’s just go. I’m sure His Majesty will be surprised to see us arrive early. He thought we won’t be there until tomorrow."
Mineah chuckled and casually watched Dani do the teleportation spell. Smiling, she gently touched her big bump and whispered, "Are you planning to come out during the Global Summit, my Alya?"
She grinned when she felt Alya’s gentle kicking inside her stomach. It looked like it was a yes from her baby. Nevertheless, it was fine since her big sister Xenia would also be there anyway. She would surely assist her with everything that might happen during that time.
