Chapter 395: Healthy Mothers

Mineah scrunched her brows in deep thought as she stared at some of the baby stuff that she and Krisha had just bought. They ranged from cribs to toys, and they were some of the best that they could buy. It wasn’t too much, but somehow, it felt like they could do more than what they already bought.

"I still think we can buy some more," Mineah remarked while looking at one of the many cribs they just brought with them back to the castle. "I mean, is this really enough?"

"Honestly? I think they’re more than enough for now," Krisha shrugged, sporting her own frown as she thought about their current predicament. "We can always buy more when we need it. We don’t have to buy everything we need right now, Milady?"

Mineah hummed in pensive agreement at her friend’s opinion. It was true that they could always just buy things whe never the need for them arose, but it also wouldn’t be bad if they just prepared themselves for the potential need that might come in the future.

"I don’t know... Maybe we might need some of these and we won’t have any in stock somewhere," she postulated. "It’s not going to be too much of a bother to buy some of the things we need in advance, right?"

"That’s right, but do we even have the room for them?" Krisha reasoned. "We’re already taking up an entire room in the castle with these already, and I’m pretty sure we’re already spending more than what we should realistically spend. Well, at least during our stage of pregnancy, at least."

For a brief second, Mineah almost wanted to protest against Krisha’s logical arguments. Eventually, however, she relented by letting off a disappointed sigh.

"I can’t believe you managed to talk me out of buying more stuff for our babies," she weakly chuckled. "I would’ve thought you’d be more eager than me, what with your baby only being three months away from being born."

"I’m just being more economical," Krisha chuckled back. "Besides, you’re not far off yourself. Six months can fly by in a blink of an eye, after all."

As if to prove a point, Krisha then pointed at Mineah’s growing belly bump. It wasn’t much yet compared to her friend’s ballooning stomach, but the latter couldn’t help but feel more excited seeing the future that awaited her.

"I just hope it comes by sooner, to be honest," Mineah smiled. "I can’t wait for my belly to get as big as yours."

"It’s certainly an experience," Krisha giggled while caressing her stomach. "It has its ups and downs, but I like to think that I enjoyed it more than I was inconvenienced by it."

"I suppose it’s not easy walking around with that much weight on you," Mineah hummed in agreement. "I’ll just take things as they come."

"Exactly. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s very much worth it."

Mineah smiled back at her friend as she let her gaze linger on her friend. Krisha had grown big, almost to the point that she could see her friend struggling when she thought that nobody was looking. It almost made her feel bad, especially since her husband Taro wasn’t there to take care of her.

"I’m sorry for Taro not being with you, by the way."

"Milady?" Krisha curiously asked. "Why are you apologizing?"

"Taro isn’t with you because he’s busy working," Mineah explained herself with a soft frown. "You’re left alone to deal with yourself because of it."

"It’s... not that big of a deal?" Krisha blinked in confusion. "Milady, it’s fine. It might be a bit hard sometimes, but I’m more than capable of handling myself."

"Still, you’re pregnant. You should have some help around with you," Mineah insisted.

"You’re always here with me though, right?" Krisha pointed out with a smile. "That’s more than enough help for me."

Mineah couldn’t help but smile at her friend’s words. Krisha was really doing her best to deal with the situation she was dealing with, and she had nothing but admiration and respect for what she was seeing. Still, despite her friend’s reassurances, Mineah silently promised to herself that she would always be with Krisha during their shared pregnancy. It wasn’t much, but she at least owed it to her friend to be there for her.

"Anyway, enough about this depressing talk. We’re both pregnant, so we should enjoy ourselves," Krisha insisted with a cheerful smile. "Maybe we can do something today? Maybe go out and look for more stuff to buy?"

"Didn’t you just say that we don’t need to buy more than what we need?" Mineah pointed out with a soft chuckle.

"That’s only for baby stuff. We can always buy more for ourselves," Krisha cheekily smirked. "Besides, a bit of sun would do us and our babies a favor. It’s also decent exercise."

"Hmm... I don’t know," Mineah frowned as she hummed. "I don’t think Lai would appreciate me being out of the castle for too long. That’s on top of him wanting Lady Jayra to be closely monitored to keep her safe."

Her health was currently her husband’s top priority. Of course, that also meant Lady Jayra was being observed since the bloodthread keeping their lives intertwined still existed. If something happened to either of them, there was going to be hell to pay for whoever was responsible, especially now that she was carrying a child.

"I suppose there’s that," Krisha sighed. "Maybe we can just walk around the castle then?"

"That’s a decent idea," Mineah smiled. "The gardens are looking very comfortable right now as well."

"I like that a lot," her friend beamed. "Shall we then?"

Giving Krisha a smile, Mineah let her friend lead the two of them for a nice walk within the castle. It wasn’t much, but it did wonders to keep themselves active during such a delicate moment in their lives. The children they were carrying deserved nothing less than healthy mothers, and she would make sure that they got exactly that.
