Mineah remained silent during dinner, acting all calm and composed while knowing the fact that her brother Ezekiel was not in Cordon. Nikolai also confirmed that her brother wasn’t in Valcrez, and none had received any advance notice regarding the King of Ebodia’s arrival.

"Hmm... you seem to be gaining more weight, my dear," her father teased her while they ate at the table.

Mineah frowned as she turned to Nikolai and asked, "Do I look fat now?"

Nikolai chuckled as he then cupped her face and said, "Your cheeks are puffier." He then kissed her puckered lips, making her blush hard.

"Stop that," she scolded him as she quickly sat up properly on her chair. "We’re in front of my parents."

While she didn’t mind showing public displays of affection while they were in front of other people, somehow, she felt that doing it in front of her parents was just embarrassing.

"Who would have thought that I would be able to witness these loving gestures between my daughter and the Vampire King?" her father suddenly remarked with a wide grin. "I’m glad that Beirut’s visions were accurate when it came to my daughters’ love lives. He assured me that giving my daughter’s hand to you is the best thing to do because he saw how Mineah would be happy and fulfilled staying by your side as your other half."

Mineah smiled in agreement. That was also what Beirut told her... Despite how things would become like a rollercoaster of experiences in the future, one thing he was sure of was that she would live a happy and content life in the arms of the Vampire King.

Still, she would feel much more at ease if her mother was also right about her hunch that Ezekiel was searching for Tarah. But for some reason, she felt that her brother was currently on another confidential mission to end Devon once and for all.

Having had enough of the sour mood, Mineah quickly changed the topic to lift up the mood, but that didn’t last long when a royal guard suddenly came and bent on his knee. "Your Majesty, King Ezekiel is back and..."

She quickly scanned her brother to see if he was badly injured, and after a while, she sighed in relief at finding nothing to be worried about.

"Son!" her mother burst out.

"He’s bathed in Devon’s blood," Mineah stated. "I can only picture how Devon died a gruesome death in his hands."

"It is finished. I destroyed everything there was of him," Ezekiel coldly stated before throwing the head onto the floor. "His body, spirit, and soul... Nothing remains but this head."

Mineah gasped when a fire illuminated Ezekiel’s hand. It was then directed onto the head on the ground, turning it into ash. It was the first time she witnessed her brother using the dragon’s power inside his body. It wasn’t a spell or magic, it was the dragon’s power.

She could feel how intense and powerful that fire her brother just fired onto Devon’s head, and everyone witnessed it, with some even wailing as they bowed down to his brother, praising and thanking their king for ending the demon king who had been causing suffering to the innocents.

Ebodia and every kingdom in this world would now feel at ease, and the news quickly spread of how the dragon king of Ebodia finished off the demon king of Helion.

"The Dragon King... Hmm... that’s interesting," Nikolai remarked as they walked hand in hand through the hallways of Cordon Castle to see her sister Xenia. "It seems like Ezekiel turned out to be the most powerful ruler now."

After spending another day in Ebodia, Mineah wanted to have a stopover at Cordon before going back to Valcrez.

"Indeed... I’m still in awe of how he can manage such strong power, but it’s probably the benefit of having divine blood in him," Mineah mumbled. "Vulcan’s power and energy grew accustomed to his body already, and I believe they already formed a great rapport with each other. Brother can also apparently shift into a dragon. The mutation in his body is remarkable."

She then let out a heavy sigh, one that didn’t go unnoticed.

"What’s wrong?" Nikolai asked. "Isn’t this a good thing since that power fell in the hands of your brother who won’t use it wrongly?"
