The Crown's Seduction
Chapter 390: A Surprise Visit

Chapter 390: A Surprise Visit

It was their second day of spending time away from the palace at their newly-found haven in the southern part of Valcrez, and Mineah felt like she wanted to go out some more just like what they did last midnight when they went to a night market where she enjoyed a lot of street foods she was craving for. They enjoyed it so well that she and Nikolai were only now waking up. It was already time for lunch, which meant that they had to do that first before doing anything else.

Mineah sighed as she watched Nikolai prepare their lunch at the table. "I miss my mom’s soybean paste stew," she pouted. "I also wonder what my garden back home looks like now..."

"I can try cooking that now as well, Mine," Nikolai enthusiastically replied to her with a wink.

Mineah simply shrugged even as she gave him a soft smile. Her husband was having a great time cooking the dishes she would ask for lately. While he was doing great and she enjoyed everything he made for her, there were still instances when she would prefer having food from other places like the candied fruit they had during the early morning.

It was through thinking about this that her eyes suddenly lit up as an idea popped in. "Hmm... How about we go to Ebodia right now and have a quick visit?" she suggested with a grin. "Please? It won’t be too much of a bother."

It wouldn’t be too hard either. They could always arrive there in a snap using her teleportation spell, and it had been a while since she used her inner energy, meaning that it wouldn’t impact her too much to do such a thing.

"Alright, let’s pay them a surprise visit then if that’s what you want," Nikolai replied with a smile. "But first, let’s eat our lunch here. We’ll travel in my mist so we’ll be arriving there before dinner anyway."

"How about we use my teleportation spell instead?" she suggested back. "It’s been a while since I used my power. My body is healthy now, and my divine energy is back in all the right places." On top of that, her body had become more agile, and she could feel how tremendously her divine power grew, especially when her curse was lifted and the chaos inside her diminished.

"No... Let’s just use my mist form," Nikolai insisted. "Isn’t it good to travel while seeing everything beneath you?"

Mineah blinked at her husband and said, "But my magic will get rusty if I don’t use it..."

Nikolai simply chuckled as he readied the meal on the table and put some food on her plate. "Come now. Eat heartily," he told her. "I’ll allow you to use simple spells later, but for now, let’s skip on doing any major and complicated spells unless it’s really necessary."

Mineah no longer bothered arguing as her eyes wandered toward the dishes her husband prepared for her. Like what she would always do, she started eating, not minding how Nikolai simply watched her with his amused and loving eyes.

"You should eat with me," she muttered with a pout, signaling him to sit beside her.

Smiling back, Nikolai quickly sat beside Mineah, and she promptly started feeding him as well. Of course, that didn’t mean she had stopped eating her fill. She knew she was a glutton, but lately, she noticed that she was really eating a lot more than usual. As if to add to that observation, she stared at the platter of fruits Nikolai just cut up, and she gulped as she salivated from just looking at it. And to think that she had just finished her heavy lunch.

"This is healthier compared to eating those kinds of sweets, Mine," Nikolai scolded her.

Mineah only smiled as she started picking up the sliced melons and started chewing them. "Oh, these are juicy and tasty."

"Of course they are," Nikolai smirked. "I want some too if you don’t mind."

Raising an amused brow, she picked up another slice of fruit to feed her husband, but before she knew it, Nikolai leaned forward and kissed her lips instead, having a taste of the melon still inside her mouth. Mineah felt her mind turn into mush as her body was once again turned into putty because of her husband’s effortless acts of seduction.

Instead of eating more desserts, Mineah ended up being Nikolai’s dessert as he started taking the opportunity to get more intimate with her. In the end, as it usually did, they both ended up making love before they traveled to Ebodia that day.

The sun was about to set when they arrived at Ebodia, and Mineah had them directly going to the Rose Palace where her parents were currently residing. Nobody greeted them, but that was expected. Even more so, the hurried preparations being done for them were easy to see.

"You should have sent word beforehand," her mother scolded her even as she hugged and kissed Mineah’s cheeks.

"That’s what I said too, Mother, but she insisted that it wasn’t necessary," Nikolai remarked with a grin.

"We won’t be staying long, Mother. I just missed your seaweed soup. And I also wanted to visit my private garden to get something," Mineah explained. "Oh, where is Father?"

"Your father isn’t here. He’s currently at the Jade Palace taking over while your brother is away." Queen Mother Dana replied as she smiled lovingly. "Anyway, I’ll go ahead and quickly prepare some soup for you, my dear. It won’t take long."

The Queen Mother was about to leave, but Mineah was still in thought at the last few things she heard about.

"Big brother Ezekiel is away? For how long now?" she asked. For some reason, she felt something ominous about it. Could it be that he...

She couldn’t help but turn her head to Nikolai.

[Do you think he went to Helion?] she asked him through their bond, not wanting to worry her mother. [I saw that burning anger in him when he vowed that he would return there and finish off Devon as soon as he found out that he was still alive.]

"Yes. He said he’ll be gone in a few days. It’s been four days already since he left, and he said he’ll have a stopover at Cordon and Valcrez to have a serious discussion about the fight against Helion," her mother explained. A crease then appeared on her forehead as she turned to Nikolai and asked, "He probably went to Cordon first before going to Valcrez. Wait, he didn’t give you notice about it?"

"Hmm... We’ve been wandering a lot lately, Mother," Mineah interrupted. "We’re having some sort of honeymoon vacation at the moment. And I’m sure Brother sent word, but since we’ve shut off communications for now, it hasn’t reached us." It was probably true in some ways anyway.

"After everything that had happened, you two deserve a break. That’s good," her mother sighed. "I just hope that your brother will take a rest once in a while as well. He has been working nonstop, and it makes me worry."

"I see," Mineah hummed. "Very well. We’ll be going to the Jade Palace for now, Mother. We’ll go and greet Father first."

In truth, she wanted to contact her sister Xenia first and ask if her brother Ezekiel was truly in Cordon. She didn’t have a good feeling about this...
