Chapter 389: The Advice

Chapter 389: The Advice

Krisha chuckled as she watched Chancellor Abel frown as he talked to one of the officers asking about when their King and Queen would return.

"They went out again?" Dahlia asked as she walked beside her while they passed by the Chancellor in the hallway.

"Yes," Krisha replied. "Her Majesty said that they wouldn’t take long though."

It had been a few weeks already since the couple returned from their so-called honeymoon trip after everything had happened, and yet the two suddenly announced that they would again be away for a few days just yesterday.

"Something’s odd with our Queen," Krisha remarked. "She’s been getting random urges to do some things lately, not to mention how she would get some mood swings that never really happened to her before."

"Aren’t those the early symptoms of pregnancy though?" Dahlia asked. "Is our Queen already pregnant?"

"I’m not really sure. I didn’t feel that way when I was like that though," Krisha muttered, recalling her own pregnancy symptoms. "I just got the usual morning sickness and being picky with my food."

"We all have different bodies," I suppose," Dahlia reasoned. "Of course, we’ll react differently."

"Zaila already checked on her yesterday before she left too," Krisha muttered with a frown.

"Hmm... Maybe it’s still too early? How many weeks has it been since they had their honeymoon?" Dahlia pondered. "They went right after they executed the criminals, right?"

Nodding, Krisha started counting down the days that passed by. "I think it’s been approximately four weeks..." she answered. "Anyway, I’ll remind Zaila to check on our Queen again as soon as she comes back. It would be very good news if she’s pregnant."

With that thought, Krisha couldn’t help but caress her growing baby bump, thinking about the possibility of her unborn child being playmates with their Queen’s future baby.

"Look at you smiling brightly while touching your belly," Dahlia chuckled. "I’m kind of envious now."

Smiling, Krisha pulled Dahlia with her to sit on the nearest bench in the hallway. The weather was nice, after all... not so cold, but not too hot as well. It was already spring, and their surroundings were becoming more vibrant again with trees, plants, and flowers starting to bud, grow, and bloom once again.

"I’m sure you and Zoran will have babies soon too," Krisha encouraged her. "Just a bit more and the two of you can finally be together like a normal couple. I heard he’s improving a lot lately."

"He’s been sneaking into my bedroom every night, but..." Dahlia paused as she unknowingly touched her face, her cheeks burning red.

Seeing her friend’s reaction, Krisha couldn’t help but chuckle at how adorable and innocent Dahlia looked right now. The two of them had been hanging out together more often with how busy Dani had been while attending to serious matters in assisting their Queen with her political duties. Zaila on the other hand was also extremely engaged with a few confidential assignments regarding some potions and medicines, working closely with the physicians and healers in Valcrez.

Meanwhile, Krisha was given lighter duties since her friends and the Queen herself were pampering her because of her pregnancy. Of course, she enjoyed the wonderful privilege while she waited for her beloved husband to come back to her in person.

"Don’t be shy... Tell me everything, Dahlia. Who knows? I could be of help since I have more experience now in married life, even if my husband isn’t with me right now," Krisha encouraged her friend with a wink. "We always do things inside my dreams though, and I’m fortunate that he can do that so I feel less empty without him being by my side."

"We haven’t consummated our marriage yet though, so how can I become pregnant?" Dahlia murmured with a pout, almost like a sigh of frustration if Krisha heard her correctly.

"Hmm... It’s probably because he’s still balancing things out. He has no recollection of you, so he may want to take things slowly. Doing things one step at a time and all that," Krisha voiced out. "Maybe he wants the two of you to know each other more until you two can become more comfortable with each other?"

"But I’m comfortable enough with him already. He shouldn’t be holding back since we’re already married. It should be a natural thing between married couples," Dahlia complained. "Do you think he’s still uncomfortable around me then? But he’s been teasing me more often than not recently!"

Krisha could feel her frustrations as she pursed her lips. "Hmm... How about you try and take the initiative?" she suggested. "What if he’s just thinking about you, that’s why he’s holding back? How long is he lasting with you right now?"

"I’m not sure. He would often sneak into my bedroom at night and sleep with me, but whenever I wake up in the morning, he’s already gone," Dahlia sighed. "I guess he quickly leaves whenever he feels like his control around me is going to slip?"

"Did you ask him then? Communication is important to avoid misunderstanding, you know," Krisha advised her. "If you’re confused with his actions, then just ask him about it directly. Ask him why he leaves every morning. Maybe you can also discuss with him about your concerns about consummating your marriage."

Dahlia bit her lower lip as she fidgeted. "But I’m shy when talking about intimate things and..."

"You said it yourself that you two are already a married couple now, so there should be nothing for you to be shy of," Krisha chuckled. "Maybe Zoran just needs a push. Maybe he’s waiting for you to see if you’re already ready to move on with him to the next level. Just be true to yourself and do what you want to do with him. Try that first without overthinking, hmm?"

Dahlia let out a sigh at the advice. "Maybe you’re right. There’s no harm in trying, so I’ll do exactly as you advised," she said with determination. "I just hope that he won’t hold back this time around."
