Brushes swung in the air as different beautiful colors bathed Harlow’s face in an enthral glow. Harlow was a little bit tensed about the event, her heart palpitating fast each time she thought about the event of the night.

The eyes that will be in attendance to judge her tonight.

Harlow wasn’t a party person, she’s never enjoyed attending social events. She was always ridiculed by women at every event so she didn’t like mingling with people anymore.

"Almost done." Her maid murmured, fixing the last thing on her face before applying the finishing powder. "Done she said excitedly, giving Harlow the chance to stare at her reflection. Even she was amazed by how beautiful and different she looked.

The Blackwood’s maids weren’t only good at cleaning, cooking, and gossiping. They had also learned skills before arriving in the family. Like taking care of the ladies, while the male servants had learned how to take care of their masters.

Harlow hadn’t gone shopping for her outfit because she had more than enough to wear in the closet Alanis prepared for her. It’s surprising Alanis still got more clothes for her.

It was because in high society, dresses aren’t useless by how many times they are worn, they’re useless once the season is past.

No one is allowed to wear a last-season dress, whether it has been seen before or not.

"I want the blue dress." The maids smiled. They had hoped Harlow picked the blue dress too. Though it looked simple, the dress was elegant and it would fit her perfectly.

After deciding on her dress, a box of jewels was pushed before her, and the maids in there opened the box. Every necklace in the box was from her new company. The company everyone was curious about the founder because their diamond collections were to die for. And they were all limited edition which meant more than two people could not have the same piece of jewel.

Alanis has purchased more than five limited editions worth millions just for her. If only he knew it was her company.

Harlow picked a pair amongst the rest, the pair that blended with her outfit. This one, was one of one. It meant no other person in the entire world had it.

She stared at her reflection in the mirror, her fiery red hair flowed down to her back in waves, and it dangled as she moved.

The maids in the room stared at their madam in awe. Now they know why their master had chosen her over their madam Claudia even if she had a more decent character to them.

The comparisons had already begun as most maids preferred Claudia because of her personality. The few times she had been here, she had tipped a few maids, but Harlow, she barely interacted with anyone except Ava.

To be fair, Harlow looked more beautiful, but they judged with Claudia’s kindness. Harlow posed with Grace as she carried herself with elegance. She’s the type of woman who makes other women jealous even without lifting a finger.

Harlow carried her purse and stepped out of the room. It was a diamond purse that blended with her accessories.

Maybe she should include diamond shoes and purses amongst her collection. It’ll be priceless. She would need to discuss that with her team before the auction.

As Harlow stepped out of the Villa, she was greeted by the insolent Garth who frowned on seeing her. Harlow only smiled and stepped inside the limo waiting for her. She wouldn’t want to ruin her night before it even started. She had better things to worry about.

The car moved smoothly through the city, till it arrived at the city’s central hall. The most beautiful part of Halkhalls meant for only the wealthy of the wealthiest people on earth. Not everyone gets to host an event in there.

From her window, Harlow stared at the vast garden ahead. Even if it was night, she could tell how beautiful it looked from the different colors of artificial light glowing there.

She smiled. The view was so beautiful and if she remembers correctly, the view would be even more beautiful in the next years to come. Halkhalls will grow so much to an even better city.

The entrance of the hall glowed as reported and paparazzi readied their camera’s to capture the people that attended.

Not only did Charlotte invite a few family members and prominent guests, but she had also made sure the press was involved too. She wanted to clear the misunderstanding between everyone and let them know, that Harlow Blackwood was her true daughter-in-law and not anyone else.

"Take the back," Harlow said calmly. She wasn’t ready to face the flashes from the camera, if Alanis hadn’t been with her the last time, she would have never been able to endure.

She finally understood what movie stars go through every time. Being in the limelight wasn’t for a weak at all.

"Master’s gem has arrived. I repeat master’s gem has arrived, clear the pathway for her, and report to Master Alanis immediately." The chauffeur said with his walky-talky.

The moment her limo stopped at the back entrance, Harlow could see more than seven men in black suits rushing towards her.
