It was a day to the gala, everyone involved was so tensed about and so was the girl now seated on her balcony staring at the expanse of the land before her. She was in a bright red mini-dress, her black hair flowing with the wind.

Her green eyes followed the maids moving around the garden as they arranged. In exactly one week, this place will be filled with everyone celebrating her marriage to George.

Though he was not the man she wanted to be with, he was her ticket to Alanis. She couldn’t wait for him to see what he had been missing all this while. Alanis will beg her and regret not marrying her.

She let out a sigh. Claudia was a bit tense because of her plans for the gala tomorrow. She would ruin everything Harlow was planning and steal the spotlight at the end.

There’s no way she’s letting them live in peace. Harlow can never live happily with Alanis, never. She’ll make sure she destroys them, like she did before.

Now seated in her wheelchair was Claudia as she twirled her drink in her hands. She was staring into space, calculating everything she wanted to do when a young girl walked in.

"I’m back Miss Claudia." A maid approached the balcony. She was slender-looking with bright blue eyes. Her wine color hair was tied to the back. She was excited to have completed an errand for her mistress

One completed errand means she would at least get a tip.

In the Blackwood’s mansion, little tips were beneficial to the maids around.

"What did he say?" Claudia asked without looking at the girl. She hoped he accepted her offer because her plans could not fail this time.

"He said he’ll be there miss." Claudia nodded with a smile. The show has only just begun.

"You can leave now." She waved her hands and the girl left hesitantly. The maid wondered if she had done something wrong to not get tips today. She had delivered Claudia’s massage the way she wanted.

As she walked through, she was too deep in her thought to notice a familiar face walk into her mistress’s room.

Claudia was still seated on the balcony when the door to her bedroom opened and closed. "Hello, my Suger pie." The familiar deep voice rang in her ears and she turned to see who it was.

She got up from where she sat to see who was standing in her room. Claudia stared at him with wide eyes. She could not believe it, then slowly she frowned.

"What are you doing here?" She said to the tattered-looking man. His hair looked so unkept, his beard looked like he had not shaved in years. His clothes looked so thin and dirty. The stench from him was so bad she could perceive him from her balcony. She managed to walk back into her bedroom, covering her nose with the back of her hands.

"Who even let you in here?" She yelled. How did this old fool get here? The last time she saw him she has warned him several times not to come close to her, but he refused.

"Oh sweetheart, that’s not a way to speak to your father." He smiled, showing off his black rotten teeth. When she discovered this man was her real father she had almost puked. What did her mother see in such man to have a child for him?

Claudia has been living under disguise as Frank’s daughter for a long time, when in truth, she was never his child.

"You’re not my FATHER!" She yelled. She has told him countless times before and she would say it again. Though she looked more like this man than Frank, she would never admit it. She cannot be the daughter of a poor man.

"You are sweetheart. Unless you want me to go to that useless man and ask for a DNA test." She smiled again.

"Why are you coming to me? Mother is right there to attend to you?" She was scared of losing everything she had if people found out about this man, no one could know she was his daughter.

"Money." He said. "Your mother doesn’t want to respond to my calls anymore, it’s only right I ask you for money." He said. Claudia has never been more disgusted in her life.

"And if you don’t respond too, I’ll make sure both of you return to the slums with me." He threatened. At this point, all Claudia wanted to do was strangle this man to death. She wanted to end his life and the future mystery he would cause. But Elisa has warned her not to.

"Can’t you at least clean up before showing your face here?" She eyed him stylishly. "I’ll give you the money you want, but first, you have to promise not to come back here anymore. Anytime you need money, you can call me." She said.

She had better things to worry about than some useless father of hers. He might have birth to her, but Frank is the one she sees as a father.

The ugly-looking man smiled, his green eyes glowing beneath the chandelier in her room. "I’ll do just as you have asked my sweet girl. But you can never keep your father hungry, you know what keeping me hungry can cause." He smiled gesturing his hands to his lips.

"Loosed mouth." He added.

"Now get out of my room before someone sees you."

"But the money?" He asked. Claudia walked over to her drawer to bring out a large bundle of money and threw it at him. She dealt with this man in her past life, she couldn’t believe he had returned in this current life.

Everything from her past life changed, why didn’t God take this man away from her too? Maybe it would have been better if she was given a normal poor man than a drunkard for a father. She would have appreciated that more than anything...
