She had expected to see Harlow panic, but rather than that, a sweet smile curved her delicate lips. A smile that made Alanis’s heart flutter. This woman just knows how to control his heart in ways he can not explain.

It’s been so long since Alanis has seen his wife smile this way. Probably only on their wedding day in his former life. He has longed for this smile for a long time.

"It is true sir, Miss Harlow really hit Madam Garth. She had been so disrespectful and even when I tried to stop her from beating Madam, she beat me too." Alanis glanced at the maid who spoke. She sure has bruises on her face. Just what menace has he married?

It hadn’t even been 24 hours since her arrival and she had already dealt with his family. He sighed.

"Calm down and come with me, Mother," Alanis said evenly, with long, confident strides, he led the way toward his villa, Garth and Jane following closely behind, her shoes clicking against the floor harshly. She couldn’t just wait to see what Alanis would do to that stupid girl.

Slapping her had been the final straw, an insult too great to overlook. She knew her son well enough to realize Alanis would never forgive Harlow for crossing such a line. Everything Garth had done until now was part of a carefully laid plan to push the girl out of the mansion.

She had no idea why her son was suddenly keeping that girl in his Villa. She thought they were through with that marriage already?

Jane smiled. She knew it. She knew her master didn’t like the girl that much. That whore, she will face her fate today. She will surely be kicked out of the Villa today.

"I have worked in here for more than 10 years sir, but today, that woman you brought in raised her hands on me. She but me for nothing." Jane’s stared.

"Your grandfather and father built this villa with their own hands," Garth began, her voice laced with venom as they approached the door. "And today, your wife not only kicked me out but dared to warn me never to return. That girl has been nothing but a curse since she arrived, Lanis. Why did you bring her back into our lives?" she demanded, her words sharp and unyielding.

As the door swung open, all three people were greeted by the figure already seated on a couch in the lounge. Harlow poised like a queen on her throne. Her green eyes gleamed with amusement, her lips curling into a smirk as if she’d been waiting for this moment all along.

Let the show begin.

She told him she would bring nothing but chaos into his life and family.

She has longed to see Garth crash out before her. This was nothing compared to what they had done to her in the past.

"Welcome back, husband," Harlow greeted, her tone dripping with mock sweetness. Her gaze lingered on Alanis, daring him to react, to show the anger she was so eager to provoke. She knew exactly what she was doing, and she was ready to push him over the edge if it meant him getting hurt.

"Mother said you slapped her and sent her out of the Villa, is that true?" Alanis’s indifferent voice rang in the room.

"She said that?" Harlow asked, that sweet smile never leaving her lips.

"Lie that you didn’t do it, you liar. Everyone was present, the maids were all gathered in here when she slapped Madam Garth." Jane cried out. "She abused us like children and even threw us out. Just what right do you have to do such?" Jane completed. She had no idea she was only putting herself into trouble by talking that way.

Harlow stared at the maid with big mouth. It seems the first lesson wasn’t taught well, perhaps she should do it again.

"Mother," Harlow called, but before she could say a word...

"You have no right to call me that!" Garth snapped, her voice trembling with fury. "Not after what you did today." She turned to Alanis, her hands dramatically gesturing to her reddened cheek before holding his arms. "Look at me, Lanis! Look at how swollen my face is! Your wife did this to me!" she cried, her voice breaking with practiced theatrics.

"I’ve endured enough humiliation under the same roof as this girl," she continued, her voice rising. "Today, I will make sure she’s out of this villa for good!"

"Kick her out now! I can’t live under the same roof as a mad woman," Garth demanded, her voice trembling with fury. "Today, she’ll learn never to mess with me again."

The maids inside the villa huddled in the corners, their eyes wide as they watched the scene unfold. Those who had never supported Harlow exchanged knowing smiles, eagerly awaiting the punishment they were certain would come. Alanis wouldn’t let his mother be disrespected, there was no way. Harlow’s downfall was here, and they relished the thought.

But then, Alanis’s next move left everyone stunned.

"Is this true? Did you hurt her?" he asked, turning his calm gaze toward the woman lounging on the couch.

Garth stared at her son, utterly dumbfounded. What was this? Was Alanis questioning her? Choosing this ridiculous girl over his own mother? Even Harlow was too shocked to respond.

This wasn’t the Alanis she knew. The Alanis she knew wouldn’t bother returning to the villa in person. He would’ve simply called, scolded her over the phone, called her desperate, labeled her an attention-seeker, and cut off her allowance for a month. But now... this? Was he siding with her, even when Garth’s reddened cheek was clear evidence of Harlow’s audacity?

"I’m afraid that is not necessary sir. This ungrateful wretch really hit us, we have all the evidence here, and asking her about it will only make her deny it all." Jane said.

"I never asked you to speak and how dare you call my wife a wrench? What does that make you?" Jane was taken aback by his words.

"Sir..."
