THE BILLIONAIRE'S VENGEFUL WIFE RETURNS
Chapter 103: JUST A LITTLE KISS

Chapter 103: JUST A LITTLE KISS

When Harlow left the hall, "Harlow." Frank called her from behind. His pride could not let him apologize to his daughter before those people. Unlike Elisa, Frank didn’t care about what people thought of him or said about him.

Harlow paused to meet his gaze.

"Come to my office, I need to speak with you," Frank said calmly and turned to leave.

"And do what then, ask your security to lock me up in my room or try to punish me again?" Harlow asked. Frank paused and then turned slowly to look at his daughter

"I want to give you everything I took from you," Frank said calmly. "It’s okay if you don’t trust my words anymore. Just send your location to me so that I can send everything back to you." He said calmly, but the girl before him was not a fool. She’d rather die than give her father her location ever again.

As for whatever he had to give her, he would collect whatever it was quickly and leave.

She trailed behind him calmly, and when they reached his office, Frank opened the door and stepped in. Harlow stepped in too.

She watched her father walk slowly with the help of his stick and found his way to his table.

"You see, I’m not getting any younger anymore Harlow," Frank said quietly, his voice faint.

"I want our fights to end. I want peace. I want us to come together again as a family." Harlow almost laughed at his words.

She wasn’t the one he should be telling that, it’s clear Elisa and Claudia will never love her or accept her as family. Not after tonight.

"You should tell that to your wife. She seems to be the one making your recent decisions."

Frank said nothing to her and opened his drawer. He brought out a cell phone and some other documents and placed them on the table.

"I had no idea my daughter has achieved so much in such a short time." He smiled. "Harlow, I’m sorry if I have offended you. Please forgive this old man for being very foolish to his precious daughter." Frank said.

"I know things can never be the same again, but you can return to the company if you want. Take back your position as the CEO of Blackwood’s diamond company. It’s clear your sister has no idea what she’s doing. If I let her continue, she’ll destroy everything I own." Frank sat on his swivel leather chair, catching his breath as he spoke to his daughter.

Harlow said nothing to him, she had nothing to say. She had suffered so much humiliation all for nothing.

"This is your cellphone and the documents for the properties I seized." Frank handed the documents and cell phone to Harlow and she took them.

"I know it’s stupid telling you to come back and live with us. But please be careful wherever you are, and always come back to check up on your father. Life is short, we must make the most out of the short time we have." Frank said calmly.

"Are you sick father?" Harlow finally asked. She knew what was wrong with him. She knew this was all Elisa’s doing. In the past she had neglected her father also because of love, but not this time. She would never let Elisa harm her father anymore.

"Do you forgive me for everything I’ve done my child?" Frank asked ignoring her question.

"I’ve called the company to name your diamond collection after your mother’s name like you wanted. I feel so ashamed of stealing from my own child. I didn’t know what came over me." Frank wiped his tears. He had promised Harlow’s mother that he would care for his daughter yet had almost destroyed her with his bare hands.

When Andrew spoke about his dear daughter being ganged raped, he felt worthless. He should not call himself a father if he cannot protect his child.

"Are you sick father?" Harlow asked again.

"The doctors say they didn’t find anything wrong, but deep inside, I feel so sick," Frank confessed. Harlow nodded.

She started walking towards the door, "As for the job offer father." She turned to face him. "I’m sorry, but I can’t accept it anymore. I have a better job now." Frank nodded.

"You’re forgiven, father. At the end of the day, you’re the only family I have left aside Ava and it would hurt me if something should happen to you." She added.

"Avoid the morning tea brought in by the maids and call me if there’s any improvement after that," Harlow said and walked away. If she told him the truth about him being poisoned, it would make Elisa re-strategize and find another means of killing him.

She would need to find a way of saving her father and exposing Elisa at once. Harlow thought as she left the mansion.

When she arrived at the entrance of the mansion, Andrew was already standing there, ready to take her home. He was furious himself that she hadn’t bragged with his name. Calling Alanis her husband made his blood boil.

Did she really still see that man as he husband?

Andrew stared at the girl striding towards him. Her green eyes held a warmth only she understood. Harlow didn’t know how to thank Andrew enough for standing up for her, though he needed to be careful because his action would only make her stepmother attack him.

But thanks to Andrew, she has her life back again.

"Andrew." She called, like a little child who had found something so precious. "Thank you." She hugged him. Andrew has been the sweetest person to her. Who knew the little boy she once insulted would be her saving Grace today?

"It was nothing." Andrew smiled. If only Harlow could see his heart and how much he loved her.

"He held her chin with his fingers as his eyes bore into hers, "I would do anything for you Harlow. That’s how much I really care about you." He saw a fading pink dot appeared on her cheeks and he smiled.

The opportunity was too perfect, too fleeting to let slip. Without hesitation, he leaned closer, closing the distance between them. Time seemed to stand still as his lips brushed hers, soft and tentative at first, as if asking for permission. When she didn’t pull away, his kiss deepened.

Neither of them noticed the shadowed figure lurking in the corner, his eyes narrowing as he took in the scene before him. He pulled out his cell phone and quickly dialed a number.

"Boss," he whispered into the phone, "She’s doing it. She kissed a stranger at the gala."

There was silence on the other end of the line for a moment, followed by a low, commanding voice. "Catch her. Bring her home."

"Yes, sir." Gus ended the call, his gaze fixed on the couple. But before he could make his move, a sleek black limo pulled up to the curb. Andrew opened the door for Harlow, ushering her inside with a protective hand on the small of her back.

Gus froze, watching helplessly as the car sped off into the night, leaving him behind.
