The Billionaire's Rental Wife Is A Hot Shot
Chapter 203: His Iron Woman

Chapter 203: His Iron Woman

"We have been waiting for hours now. How much time do your minions need?" Avery grumbled in frustration. It had been almost an hour but there was no call or whatsoever from Damien’s team. She felt equally guilty for thinking Elias was just as evil as his mom, and it ate her inside.

"How about you go and find him yourself?" Damien bickered back. "I am sure you will find him in a jiff." He added, trying to call Lucius, who had gone to the town.

They waited for a few more hours, and finally, Lucius called them. Evelyn stood up from her couch and moved closer as Damien lifted the call. He didn’t place it on speaker just in case it was bad news.

"We found him! He had gotten involved with some local thugs and was moved to another town nearby," Lucius informed, making Damien sigh in relief. "I will send you the location. Fly over soon! You might get there before us."

Damien hummed in response and ended the call. Looking at Evelyn, he smiled, "They found him."

Evelyn felt her heart beating again at the news. Nodding to him, she murmured, "Let’s hurry then."

"No, you stay behind. We will go and get him," Ronan quickly objected. He was against the idea of taking her with them. They had enough power to protect her, but still, it wasn’t worth risking her life too.

"No, I am coming with you," Evelyn stubbornly replied, shaking her head. Even Avery joined her, earning a glare from Damien, which she conveniently ignored.

"It might be dangerous," Zevian murmured, holding his wife’s hand. But Evelyn shook her head, making the three men sigh in defeat.

"You guys won’t be able to persuade him. And I am against the idea of getting him here forcefully," Evelyn expressed her reasons. With a sigh, she added, "Please, let’s not waste time arguing over it."

Zevian nodded with a sigh. Looking at Damien, he ordered, "Prepare for our departure."

"Alright. But just Evelyn, we are not taking this piglet with us," Damien stated, glancing at Avery. It would be bothersome to protect two women, and most importantly, his patience would run thin if she joined them.

Avery scoffed out loud. They were meeting after almost months, and this was how she got treated. Great! She glared at the asshole, but before she could start a fight, Evelyn agreed with it.

"Alright."

"But," when Avery retorted, Evelyn turned to her and murmured, "Stay with mom."

Avery gave up and nodded, glaring at Damien. They all left immediately. A chopper was arranged swiftly, and the elders along with Avery bid them off.

Avery rested her head on Gracia’s shoulder and murmured, "She will be fine, don’t worry." When Gracia nodded, heaving a small sigh, Avery added, "If there’s one person that the Elias I know loves very much, it’s her. He would never think of hurting her."

The chopper flew over the city and reached the location in a couple of minutes, even before Lucius.

The chopper landed, and they all quickly got down along with a group of men guarding them. It was already dark, the sun had set, and the air was cold and biting. They quickly rushed inside the half-constructed building with many floors.

"We detect motion on the terrace," the drone operator among them murmured, and everyone quickly took out their guns, rushing upstairs.

Evelyn was guarded by Zevian on one side and Ronan on the other, both alert and carrying their own pistols. Damien led in the front, a little relaxed since it didn’t seem like a big organization or something.

They all moved up and were greeted by a dimly lit area with cement walls and corridors. Evelyn held her breath, her heart racing as they moved deeper into the building, following the drone’s location.

"Stay behind," Damien ordered, and everyone hid behind a wall while he stood in front of the door leading to the terrace. The drone operator tried to move the drone closer, and they all saw a few men laughing out loud.

"There are minimal weapons," Vincent stated, observing it on his tab screen. He asked his mate to move the drone closer. The three men and Evelyn moved forward to glance at the tab and saw Elias squatting on the ground, trying to wipe something off a man’s foot.

Suddenly, the man kicked him, making Evelyn grit her teeth. "This bastard!" she grumbled. Without second thoughts, she pushed Damien away, opened the door with a bang, and walked out.

"That’s why I told you not to bring her," Damien grumbled to Zevian before they all swiftly moved out, forming a barrier on either side of Evelyn.

The thugs, alerted by the sound of the door, frowned seeing a group of men. But their expressions paled upon seeing weapons in each one’s hands, except for the lady in the middle.

"Grab your weapons! We are under attack," the leader ordered his team.

Elias turned around at the commotion, his eyes widening upon seeing familiar figures. Evelyn looked at him, and even under the dim lights, the bruises on his face were clear. Her eyes then moved to the brace around his right hand, anger boiling within her.

"Who are you?" the leader asked, but Evelyn didn’t care to reply and walked toward them.

The leader squirmed, seeing so many men and their weapons. Even his team, armed with mere hockey sticks, didn’t dare step forward and fight, as the men looked like they were from the mafia.

Evelyn closed the gap and, reaching out to the leader, she grabbed his collar and punched him in the face. The young leader, shocked, stumbled back and touched his nose, his eyes widening at the sight of blood.

"This bitch! How dare you?!" he groaned, and before he could get up, Evelyn raised her knee and kicked him in the groin, making him cry out loud.

"You little piece of shit! How dare you touch my brother?" Evelyn shouted back. She didn’t stop there. Grabbing his collar again, she growled, "I am gonna kill you tonight!" She threw another punch, surprising everyone.

Elias looked at Evelyn’s back, watching as she didn’t stop even when Zevian tried to pull her back. Tears formed in the corner of his eyes, all his fear and worries washing away just at her sight. Evelyn had always been his Iron Woman, one who would appear just when he needed and she had proved it yet again. But did he deserve to be saved? he wondered, tears slipping out of his eyes.
