Chapter 202: Finding The Whistleblower -2
"There was an accident in the factory he started working at, and he has been missing ever since," Damien informed, still on the call with his men.
Everyone in the room tensed at his words, feeling bad for Elias. They all believed he was truly evil like his mom, but the poor guy did it to help his sister out. The atmosphere grew serious and tense.
Evelyn stumbled back, tears forming in the corner of her eyes. Zevian held her and helped her sit down while Kiana moved closer to her mommy in worry.
"What do you mean he is working in a factory?" Avery asked, taking a step forward. Why the heck would Eli work in a factory?
Damien finished talking with his subordinates and ordered, "Keep searching for him. I need his whereabouts by midnight."
"It’s all my fault," Evelyn murmured, tears trickling down her face. Running her hands through her hair, she continued blaming herself, "He... he had been my only support, and I doubted him... I easily believed he was evil too and even hated him."
Zevian’s heart ached for his wife, and he pulled her closer, hugging her tightly. "Shhh." He caressed her back and murmured, "We will find him at all costs."
Now that they could put the pieces together, it really seemed like Elias was Sophia’s whistleblower. That young boy must have sided with his mom to uncover all her sins, eventually helping them find Gracia. Zevian recalled how he had kept texting them, worried about bringing Gracia there and insisting she might end up in danger again. They had all failed to recognize him.
"It’s Barton town, a few meters down the city," Damien told Lucius, ordering him to send more men to search for Elias.
"I will ask them to make deals with the local gangs there. It will be easier to find him," Lucius suggested, gesturing to his assistant to get the map.
Damien nodded in agreement. "Yes, that would be better." Glancing at Evelyn, who was completely broken, he sighed and murmured, "Evelyn looks devastated. We should find him quickly."
Lucius hummed and ended the call. Gathering the experts in their clan, he quickly put together a plan to search for Elias.

The lively atmosphere turned gloomy in the Reign Mansion. Jonathan, who had just arrived, finishing his golf games with his old friends, heard everything from his wife. The old couple looked at their daughter-in-law and sighed.
"He always seemed good to her," Jonathan commented, recalling how Elias had never shown even a hint of animosity toward Evelyn. In fact, he was quite surprised when Zevian told him Elias had been acting kind all this time to Evelyn just to take the throne. He could see through people’s faces easily, and that young man had never worn any mask.
"I just hope he is okay. I can’t see Eve so heartbroken," Rosalind murmured, clinging to his arm. Both the couple sighed and glanced at Evelyn sitting numbly beside their son. True, she had found family here, but no one could ever replace Elias in her heart.
Kiana, who was sitting beside Evelyn, turned to her and murmured, "Don’t worry, Mommy." Reaching out to wipe her tears, she stood up and hugged her tightly. "Rosy told me that nothing will happen to good people. So, Eli Silly will be fine too," she added, her words making everyone smile in the room.
Evelyn smiled and nodded, hugging her back. Gracia, who was sitting with Avery, sighed in relief, grateful that the little girl had tried to cheer up her daughter. She just prayed for them to find him quickly, before something terrible happened to him.
A few minutes later, Damien, Ronan, Zevian, Evelyn, and Avery gathered in the study room, waiting for any news about Elias. Damien’s team shared the CCTV footage of where they had spotted Elias. He played it and explained what Lucius, who had gone to Barton himself, had briefed him.
"The night Elias left Wright Mansion, he took a different route to escape Maverick’s men." Damien showed the pictures of Elias riding toward a bus terminal on his bike, covered in complete black. "He boarded the first bus available that night and ended up in Barton."
Damien moved to the next set of pictures, showing how Elias had been wandering around the town for a few days, searching for a job and a place to stay with the little money he had. Evelyn’s heart ached at the pictures, seeing the guy who had never even gone to a supermarket working in one. He was dressed in minimal clothing in the harsh cold weather, breaking her heart even more.
"And then some guy offered him a job at a garment factory as a manual laborer," Damien continued. Elias accepted the job, which involved physically demanding tasks. Evelyn broke into tears, unable to see him in such a state. A series of pictures showed Elias being scolded and berated since he couldn’t work properly.
"He was sent to deliver sample goods to the stores and had an accident with the bike. Our team followed him to the hospital but lost him since it was very crowded in the small area," Damien explained. The details and images made everyone feel bad for Elias. He was born with a golden spoon in his mouth, and seeing him do all these things was really heart-breaking.
Zevian patted Evelyn’s back, trying to calm her down. Since Elias was quite younger than her, she had always pampered him, adored him, and made sure he never had to face the harshness of their society at an early age like her. But now, he was put in a much harsher situation, and it must be painful for her.
Damien closed the laptop and tried to assure Evelyn, "He will be fine, trust me."
Evelyn nodded in response but her heart didn’t stop beating out loud. Clutching onto Zevian’s hand that hadn’t let her go until now, she prayed for Elias, her little brother to be fine.
