Chapter 98: Important Guests

Late Monday morning, a concerned Marlon entered Aryana’s cubicle.

"Erik requested for you at the board room." He said a little bit bothered.

Aryana frowned. "Isn’t there an important meeting with the delegations from Europe? What has it to do with me?" She arched an eyebrow and she really looked cute.

Marlon just shrugged his shoulders as he led Aryana into the big board room.

When Aryana entered the meeting room, she could feel the tension in the air. She quickly scanned the room and saw that other than Erik, his Grandpa and a few board of directors were present. It was a very important meeting considering the status of the people who were in attendance.

She heard one of the guests complained in German. ’We are just going in circles. We have been here for two hours and they cannot understand us.’

Erik’s expression turned cold. He did not fully understood what the German said but he was able to grasp his meaning.

Aryana was wearing an emerald green dress and a black coat. Her hair was neatly brushed and hung freely on her back and shoulders. She wore a light make up and she looked refreshing.

"Good morning everyone." She smiled and greeted warmly. The two dimples at the corner of her mouth were visible for a few moments.

The foreigners in the room were dazzled by her smile. She was like a breath of fresh air that came in into an arid desert.

Erik gestured for her to sit down. He needed her to help with the translation. The foreigners who came today has very thick accent even Erik has trouble understanding.

The German technical guy repeated his presentation. Aryana paid closed attention and asked him to highlight key points. She would say something to Erik from time to time and Erik would make a comment.

The meeting concluded. The CEO of the German company, Kurt Heinz and the Board of Directors of Gaeya Corporation signed a three year contract.

The German CEO approached Aryana. He extended his hand for a hand shake. When Aryana accepted it, he brought it to his lips. Aryana casually withdrew her hand when she felt a chill down her spine. She acted normal so as not to offend their guests.

"You speak German so well. Is that your second language?" He asked curiously.

"Not really. I took out Languages as my major in college." Aryana explained politely.

George Lee was secretly pleased with Aryana. She did well and was instrumental in the successful contract negotiations.

’She seemed not bad after all. Perhaps, she can be of help to Erik.’ He thought. ’What am I thinking? She is still the daughter of that lowly driver! She is not worthy of Erik.’

Erik led the group to Central District’s most famous restaurant. The German CEO has requested Aryana’s presence and Erik can only concede.

The discussion during lunch was mostly about the culture of both countries. Aryana’s knowledge of the German culture and its history impressed the Germans who were present. They did not expect that such a young girl has profound knowledge of their country.

"CEO Lee, I hope you can oblige to our request. We have free time tomorrow and Miss Jones here perfectly piqued our interest with how she described the must visit sites here in Central District. Can we ask her to to tour as around?" CEO Kurt Heinz said.

Before Erik can reply, George Lee interjected. "Sure. It is no problem at all. It would be our honor to have our Miss Jones show you around."

The following morning Aryana together with Camille and Marlon accompanied the German delegation and brought them to famous tourist spots within in the vicinity of the city.

"You don’t look like a local Miss Jones." Kurt Heinz observed.

"I am a mixed breed." Aryana admitted. "My father is half American."

"I see. Thats explains your unique beauty."

During lunch, Amaya brought them to a quiet restuarant that prided themselves with authentic cuisine of the Central District.

Enemies bound to meet. While Amaya where settling down their guests, she saw Cassie and her lackeys entered the restaurant and occupied the table beside them. Aryana was worried. The people were Erik’s important guests. She cannot afford for something untoward to happen.

Karla narrowed her eyes when she saw Aryana. The hatred she felt towards Aryana was so great she wanted to grasp and choke her neck especially when she remembered what happened the other day on the banquet.

Aryana pretended not notice the women as she continued to entertain the German delegation. The foreigners where delighted with her. They would look at her and nod in agreement when she explained something.

Cassie felt a pang of jealousy when she saw the way Aryana interacted with the foreigners. They were all good looking and they seemed to be fascinated by her. Why did Erik entrusted her with such important guests? What was so good about Aryana?

"Look at her with her seductive smiles. She is like a slut! Look at her face." Marriane whispered to her friends.

"Ladies, let us not make a scene here. I think those people are their company’s guests." Cassie reminded her friends. She signaled for them to just take photos that they can post later on.

Karla did not want to let an opportunity to shame Aryana pass her by. She needed her revenge now. Her opportunity came when she saw the waiter came to serve a pot of soup to where Aryana was seated.

Aryana had a bad feeling when she saw Karla make a movement from the other table the moment the waiter approached to serve the soup. She bumped the waiter and waiter lost its grip on the tray. Aryana was horrified when she saw that the soup will spill on the CEO Kurt Heinz.

She did not think at all. By pure instinct she stood at lightning speed and placed herself between the waiter and CEO Heinz.

The porcelain pot spilled on Aryana’s back before it slid down on the floor and break into pieces.

At that very moment, Erik entered the restaurant.
