Chapter 96: Stop Playing Tricks on Me

Erik who was still in the car when received series of photos of him and Cassie naked on the bed from King of Aces. Erik clenched his fists.

King of Aces was once a delinquent Erik saved from the streets. He was almost beaten to death by a gang when Erik found him. He saved him and sent him to school. He found out that he was a genius in computer and became the number one hacker in the world.

King of Aces: What to do with the photos boss!

Erik: Delete them including her backups in the cloud.

King of Aces: Got It.

He sent him a copy of the CCTV footage and Erik saw how his driver and body guard supported him as he disappeared into Cassie’s room. He stayed there for two hours.

He sent a message to Alex. ’Come tomorrow at the penthouse. Need you to do me a blood extraction and check what drug what used on me.’ Erik thought hard. It must be from the water bottle that Cassie passed to him when he was in the car.

It was already four am when Erik entered their room. He found Aryana pacing the room anxiously waiting for him.

She ran to him and hugged him tight. "You finally came back. What took you so long?" She pretended to be calm but Erik saw through her pretense.

The corner of Erik’s lips curled up. "Are you worried about me?"

"Shouldn’t I be?" She challenged him.

Erik took off his suit and wanted to change into the pajama that Aryana passed to him. He was too tired to take a a shower.

Aryana gasped. "You slept with her!" She looked at him with a hurt and accusing eyes.

"I did not!" Erik protested.

"What are those then? Don’t tell me those are mosquito bites." Aryana pointed at the marks on his neck. Erik looked at himself in the mirror and gritted his teeth.

’Damn Cassie.’ He cursed silently.

"I passed out. I think I was put on sleeping pills. I did not do anything to her. How can I when I was asleep? Her doing this to me is something out of my control." He cupped Aryana’s face. "Trust me."

"I trust you." Aryana said. "Common, let’s go to sleep. I am so tired." She dragged her tired body to the bed. She was up almost the entire night.

At the Lopez ancestral home, Cassie was fretting. What will she do without Erik by her side? Her plan will not work right? What time did he woke up? Why did she not feel him when he got off from the bed?

’Damn it! I planned it carefully. How did it failed again!’ She cursed.

She checked the photos on her cellphone. She can still use those. Her hand froze. Where are the photos? She carefully browsed her gallery but there was no trace of her and Erik’s photos.

’Impossible! I remembered taking a lot of photos. Was I dreaming? No I really took them. But why are there nothing on my gallery?’ She finger combed her hair while trying to remember the events from last night. It was crystal clear that she took the photos. Did Erik deleted them?

The door to her room opened and the light was turned on. As expected two maids came in but they only found Cassie alone in her room.

"Get Out!" She shouted. The two maids scrambled out.

Cassie got off from the bed and started pacing back and forth. She was trying to understand what happened. She wanted to call Erik but it was still very early in the morning so she decided to get back to sleep. All she needed now was sleep. Maybe when she woke up, the photos would appear.

Alex came to Erik’s penthouse the moment he saw his message. Aryana was preparing breakfast when he came.

Alex did a blood extraction. "I’ll send the result later. You suspected that you were drugged?" Alex asked.

"Yes. Looked like it is just a tranquilizer."

Aryana urged Alex to have breakfast with them. He left soon after as he still have a scheduled surgery.

Erik received a call from Cassie at lunch time. He put her on speaker so Aryana was listening on the call as well.

"Erik, why did you leave so early?" Cassie asked feeling wronged.

"I shouldn’t have been there in the first place." Erik said coldly.

"Didn’t you remember what we did last night?" Cassie said in a coquettish voice.

"What we did?"

"We slept together." Cassie sounded shy. Aryana looked at Erik, her eye brows raised.

"You mean, we lie down on the bed together when I was passed out?" Erik snapped.

Cassie gritted her teeth on the other line.

"Cassie, I will let this pass for the sake of what we have shared in the past. Play a trick on me one more time and forget that we are even friends." Erik’s voice was so cold even Aryana shivered. She didn’t know that Erik can sound so ruthless.

Cassie sobbed on the other line.

"Erik, it is only because I love you so much. I cannot live without you." She sounded so broken.

Erik smirked.

"You were able to live in the past three years without me."

Aryana cannot help herself. She giggled. How she loved her husband’s antics.

Cassie ended the call. She felt defeated and dejected. She did not leave her room the entire day. Erik was giving her a hard time but she will not give up. She will definitively have him back.

She has to change her approach. Three years ago, Erik fell for a sweet and innocent Cassie. She decided that she will give him that version of her.

Erik received a message from Alex.

Alex: Bro you have enough Valium in your blood stream to knock you off by more than six hours. How long were you passed out?

Erik: Two hours

Alex: Two hours! How did you wake up so soon

Erik: From a nightmare
