Chapter 90: The Face Off

Aryana woke up early and freshened up at the bathroom. She scrunched up her nose when she smelt an unfamiliar scent in the bathroom. She took Erik’s polo shirt that was tossed carelessly on top of the laundry basket.

The bathroom door opened and Erik came in.

"Boss Lee, looked like a bunch of women has thrown themselves on you. Looked at the lipsticks smeared on your polo shirt." Aryana teased him.

Erik pursed his lips. He took the shirt from her hands and threw it directly at the trash can.

"I met Cassie and our college friends together with Marlon, Franco and Alex last night at Midnight Club." Erik came clean. "Franco arranged for a reunion and I wasn’t aware until I came there. Cassie got drunk and she fell on me and thats what happened."

Erik hugged Aryana.

"Are you jealous Mrs. Lee?"

"Should I be? She was your first love after all!"

"That is all in the past." He turned her around and captured her lips passionately.

"Stop that. I need to go to a photo shoot. " Erik released her reluctantly.

"If I’m done early, i will cook dinner tonight."

"Marlon and I will be do a site inspection. Ill pick you up tonight."

Aryana left their bedroom and prepared breakfast. When Erik entered the dining room, Aryana was taking off her apron and brewing coffee for him. A warm fuzzy feeling enveloped Erik. He felt at home with Aryana.

Cassie woke up with a headache. She called Marriane.

"Who sent me back last night? I can’t remember." She mumbled.

Marriane heaved a sigh at the other line. "It was Marlon."

"Marlon? Not Erik?" Cassie flared up while massaging her temples.

"Yes." Marriane replied briefly.

"Damn it! I was totally wasted last night. I can’t remember what happened after the song."

"Erik left." Marriane paused. "He seemed lukewarm to you Cassie." Marriane shared her observation.

"It is probably because of that woman. She must have seduced Erik." Cassie was fuming.

"Which woman?" Marriane was piqued.

"That vixen, Aryana Jones. She was Erik’s secretary. Erik seemed to be interested in her when they were in Italy." Cassie vented.

"Are you saying you are threatened by her?" Marriane’s eyebrows arched.

"Erik has changed Marriane. He is no longer the man who is at my beck and call. I can no longer wrap him around my fingers." Cassie said with regret. "Perhaps I really hurt him when I gave him up three years ago."

Marriane was silent on the other line. She was waiting for Cassie to continue.

"But I want to get him back Marriane, no matter what it takes. And I need your help."

"Sure. You can count on me Cass. You know that you we are the best of friends."

Cassie ended the call with Marriane. She then browsed the selfies she took yesteday and posted on her moments a photo of her Aryana. She captioned it ... Meeting New Friend.

She messaged her assistant to hyped up the photo. She wanted to influence positive comments on her.

BeautifulMe: "Cassie is so beautiful. Look at her looking classy and elegant."

WildCat: "So pretty. The girl beside her paled in comparison"

SoaringPhoenix: "One is classy and elegant while the other looked refreshing. One is in formal wear while the other in casual. There is no point of comparison."

WildCat to Soaring Phoenix: You are blind.

Soaring Phoenix: You are the one that’s blind. You cannot compare an apple with an orange. Look at the dimples. It is a sure winner.

LotusFlower: "Cassie is more beautiful. My idol."

The discussion as who was more beautiful dominated the comments under the single photo that Cassie posted.

The post caught the attention of the marketing head of a famous make up brand which Aryana is currently endorsing. She was promoting the product line for the young. An idea was hatched in her mind. She contacted Galaxy Entertainment.

Aryana was tagged at that post by Cassie. She read through the comments section and frowned. She noticed that most of the comments were favorable to Cassie. She came across the comments made by SoaringPhoenix.

She smiled. Looked like she has gained a fan.

She continued browsing. ’What game are you trying to play Cassie?’

Aryana was prepared to leave when she received a call from Amy.

"There is a change in plan. The photo shoot today is cancelled and rescheduled to next Saturday." Amy announced from the other line. "They wanted it scheduled on Wednesday but I reminded them that per your contract you can only shoot on week ends."

"Thank you Amy for taking care of my schedule." She said then hung up. She went inside their bedroom and saw Erik changing into jeans and cardigan shirt that she prepared for him.

"My photo shoot is canceled so I am free today. I can accompany you to your site inspection if you want."

"Hmm. Let us do some excercise first." Erik pinned her on the wall and captured her lips.

"Control yourself Boss Lee. It is only morning and you will be late if you don’t leave now." Aryana pushed him away gently.

"It is your fault for looking at me like that."

"What, how did I look at you?" Aryana looked at him with innocent bright eyes.

"You are begging to be taken." Erik teased her. He kissed her one more time then he reluctantly let her go and lead the way the to the elevator into the car park.

Marlon was waiting for them at the car park. The couple was holding hands as they walked towards the car.

Marlon took a photo and send it to Franco.

Franco received a notification and when he opened it, it was a photo of Erik and Aryana holding hands while walking in the garage.

Marlon: Send over you Ferrari to my garage. You lost the bet!

Franco: You are celebrating too early. We still have two months left.

Marlon: Still stubborn. Time to give up.

Franco: No way. You don’t know how persistent Cassie can be.
