Chapter 85: Cassie is Back

After six months...

At the Central District airport, a tall slender woman in a trendy outfit was walking along the arrival area. Her assistant was walking behind her carrying her luggage. A group of fans was gathered at the arrival waiting for her.

Cassie frowned. She was expecting a bigger reception but the crowd was too small compared to what she was expecting.

"What happened? This is not creating a stir at all." She glared at her assistant.

"Cassie, while you are famous in Italy, things are different in Central District."

"Do you still want your job or not? " she snapped at her.

When Cassie noticed people and paparazzi were pointing their cameras at her, she wore her brightest smile and then waved at them.

From the airport, Cassie went directly to the ancestral house of the Lopezes. The mansion was located in the most expensive suburb of the Central District. Only the ultra-rich and high-government-ranking officials can afford a place in such a plush area.

Cassie needed a strong backer if she wanted to have Erik back. She needed the Lopezes for her plan to succeed.

A servant opened the door for her and ushered her into a huge living room where her grandparents were waiting.

"Grandpa, Grandma! How have you been?" She kissed them on the cheeks and hugged them tight.

"Grandpa, Grandma, these are for you." She handed them an exquisitely woven scarf. "This is a couple’s piece and was designed by the famous Armateo and there is only one in the entire world." She said proudly.

"And these are supplements that are good for health. These bottle of wine is good for the heart." She passed them another exquisitely packed box. She paused and waited expectantly for their reaction.

"What a filial granddaughter you are. Thank you for these lovely gifts." Both the grandparents were elated.

"Grandpa, I also bought this painting in an auction for you, and Grandma, this traditional gown is for you."

"You have brought us so many gifts, Cassie. This is too much." The Lopez patriarch said and his eyes turns red. They had neglected Cassie when she was a child and even when she had grown up.

"Grandpa, grandma, I really worked hard when I was in Italy. I made a name for myself as a ramp model there. I can now make you proud of me." She paused and looked at her grandparents with her puppy eyes.

She was an illegitimate daughter of the second son of Vicente Lopez. But right now she was the most filial of all his grandchildren.

"I hope that Grandpa and Grandma can support me as I try to build my career here."

"Of course, you are our granddaughter after all."

Cassie smirked inwardly. ’Previously you disowned me because I was a mistress’ daughter. But I will work hard to change my fate now.’

"You are tired. Go rest first. We can continue our conversation tomorrow." Her grandfather said.

A servant accompanied her to her room on the second floor. Cassie had a smile on her face when she realized that the room given to her was the most beautiful one on the second floor, the one that Julia occupied during their younger years.

Franco who was busy at Midnight Club received a message. He checked the trending topic and smiled. He sent a message to Marlon.

Franco: Guess who is back?

Marlon: Who?

Franco: Cassie. I told you she will not give up.

Marlon: She will not give up but Erik has given up on her.

Franco: How sure are you?

Marlon: Ninety percent.

Franco: Ha ha ha. I will definitely win the bet.

Marlon: You judge poorly.

Meanwhile, Aryana was checking the internet when she chanced upon a photo of Cassie at the airport. She looked stylish and graceful. Her smile was well-practiced.

’So Cassie is back. Is she back for good?’

She read through the article and confirmed that Cassie was really back for good. She said that she already reached the peak of her career in Italy and this time she wanted to make her country proud.

Aryana was bothered. Was she back for Erik?

Camille has gotten back as the secretary. Erik wanted to keep Aryana by his side so she made her his second assistant working closely with Marlon on the Galaxy Amusement Park project.

Julia after her scandal laid low and treated Erik professionally. Franco seemed to have something on her that reined her and she let go of her obsession with Erik.

Josie, on the other hand, continued to give Aryana a hard time but with Camille and Marlon backing her Josie can only do so much.

Mu Feng would send Aryana dresses from time to time which she promoted successfully on her social media accounts. She was paid based on contract and her bank balance was growing every day.

Amy was a good agent. With Galaxy Entertainment as a backer, she did not run out of good resources. She developed a good judgment of which endorsement to accept so people will not get tired of her but will look forward to more.

Antonio continued to pester her and he tried to use Galaxy Entertainment to trap her but Aryana was cunning so he always failed. Plus Erik was always there. Anything she cannot resolve, Erik will resolve for her.

Her relationship with Erik has greatly improved. His family was still giving her a hard time but she only had to please Erik and nothing else mattered.

On their six months anniversary, they spent the entire weekend on Paradise Island. They spent a night on Erik’s private island lying on the sand gazing at the stars.

"I didn’t know that having a wife is a blissful experience." He whispered to her as he nibbled her earlobes.

"You are getting better at flirting Mr. CEO. Whoever said that you are cold and unfeeling and does not like women?" She snuggled close to him.

"It is because my wife is very beautiful. I cannot help but learn how to flirt." His voice was hoarse and seductive. He traced her face with the back of his hand and then he pinned her underneath him and captured her lips.

Their moans were soon drowned by the sounds of the waves that came crashing down on the shore.
