Chapter 84: You Make Me Shameless

When Aryana woke up, Erik was still asleep. She gently removed his arms that were hugging her then she got off the bed. She checked her messages and replied to Emma and Hector that she arrived safely. She also thanked them for touring her around and spending time with her in Italy.

Maria already prepared breakfast. Aryana decided to leave early for the office so she can prepare for the early meeting with Mr. Gran Ham.

"Please tell Erik that I will go ahead." She said before leaving in a hurry.

Erik was a little disappointed when he woke up and found Aryana gone. He checked his watch and frowned when he realized he overslept.

Aryana and Erik were both busy with a series of meetings during the morning.

At lunchtime, Aryana had her lunch at the cafeteria so she can catch up with Elaine.

"Aryana, I missed you. I haven’t seen you in ages." Elaine sat by her side with her food tray.

"Huh, it’s just two weeks," Aryana said.

"Guess who is back?"

Aryana arched an eyebrow. "Julia?"

"Damn! You are so straightforward. You didn’t even just pretend a little that you do not know."

Aryana laughed at her friend’s cute face.

"Ladies, can I join you?" It was Jax and he sat beside Aryana without waiting for her permission.

"The cafeteria doesn’t suit you, Boss Jax." Aryana joked lightly.

Jax smiled at her and just ignored her comment.

"Looks like you already met Erik’s, first love," Jax said softly so it was only Aryana who heard him.

"Yeah, in Italy." Aryana gave him an awkward smile.

"So?" He looked at her with a look of pity in his eyes.

"So? What do you mean by that? She is a pretty model." She said nonchalantly.

"Aren’t you worried?" He squinted his eyes at her to try to gauge her reaction.

"Why should I be worried? I know where I stand." She said confidently. She will not give Jax the benefit of doubt.

Jax regarded her with interest. "I didn’t know you are that magnanimous."

"I am not magnanimous. You are wrong to think that I am like that."

"Hey guys, what are you discussing?" Elaine butted in. She did not understand what Aryana and Jax were talking about.

"It is nothing, Elaine. We are just talking about someone we know." She looked at Elaine and explained.

"By the way, I have resigned from Gaeya Corporation." Jax ignored Elaine and continued engaging Aryana in a conversation.

"Huh, why is that?"

"My good father finally realized that he needed his bastard son to take good care of his company because all his daughters are useless." Jax’s sarcasm was evident in his voice.

"That’s good for you, then."

Jax leaned close to her and whispered. "If Erik divorces you, I won’t mind pursuing you."

Aryana’s eyes widened. "Are you crazy?" She pushed him away.

Jax chuckled. He loved how her eyes brightened from the surprise.

"See you around Aryana. If you need a shoulder to lean on, I can lend mine." Jax left.

Aryana pursed her lips. She was furious.

"What was that?" Elaine asked.

"Jax has resigned, don’t you know?"

"No, I haven’t heard about it. Good riddance. One less playboy in the department."

In the afternoon, Amy her agent met with her at the cafe. She signed the contract with Mu Feng and also with Galaxy Entertainment.

"Congratulations Aryana on your way to stardom and richness." Amy beamed happily at her.

"You will have a photo shoot for a famous make-up brand on Saturday. Don’t be late."

Aryana smiled. She was very happy with the direction her career was going. She paused and pondered for a while. Her relationship with Erik was something that she was worried about. Will she be able to stay longer with him? They has just gotten married and there were already a lot of forces opposing their relationship.

Erik was at the Midnight Club discussing a potential investor for the Galaxy Amusement park project. He was not happy with the proposal.

"This proposal will only be beneficial to you Mr. Castro. The risk is on my company." He looked at the man sitting opposite him, his gaze penetrating.

The man shifted uncomfortably in his seat and downed a glass of alcohol. ’Damn! He really has keen eyes. Those were fine prints and yet he noticed.’

"I will have the proposal revised and send it to you on Wednesday..."

"Send it tomorrow at lunchtime." Erik cut him coldly.

Mr. Castro can only nod his head. Erik Lee was indeed a difficult man.

Erik’s cell phone chimed. He received a notification from Aryana.

Aryana: Can you go home early tonight? I am cooking dinner.

Erik’s lips curled up. Mr. Castro was shocked. ’Did Erik Lee just smile?’

Meanwhile, Aryana went to a nearby supermarket to buy ingredients for dinner. She decided to prepare dinner for Erik tonight. She loved the Mediterranean cuisine they had in Italy. She prepared a ravioli, Rissoto, and tossed some green salads. She took a bottle of wine and chilled it.

Aryana was done cooking when Erik went back at 730pm. She took off her apron and set up the table.

"What’s the occasion?" Erik hugged her from the back.

"Remember Galaxy Entertainment? I signed the contract and I have a product endorsement this Saturday." She said feeling proud.

Erik just hummed. Aryana looked so happy and he did not want to dampen her spirit.

"I also signed the contract with Mu Feng so it’s like a double celebration."

Erik’s eyebrows creased. That man must have a hidden design with Aryana.

Aryana passed the bowl of risotto to Erik.

"This is the first time I did a risotto. I hope this is to your liking." She scooped a spoon and fed it to Erik.

Erik savored the taste. "It is good!" He said. Without warning, he pulled Aryana and kissed her on the lips.

"Now, it tasted much better." He said while licking his lips.

Aryana looked at Erik with wide eyes.

"I never imagined that the CEO Erik Lee is shameless!" She teased.

Erik chuckled.

"It is because of you. You made me shameless!"
