Chapter 205: She Lost Her Memory

"Kristal Mu? Is this my name? How come it doesn’t sound familiar? Her head ached badly that she fainted again.

"Doctor, the patient fainted." The nurse was frantic. She was finally awake after two weeks but she fainted. Will she go into a coma again?

At 3:00 am, the forehead of the woman on the bed started to furrow and she was murmuring inaudible words. Beads of perspiration appeared on her forehead and trickled down to the side of her face. Her head was wrapped in a bandage.

She found herself inside a white room. She was about to sleep when she heard a knock on the door. When she opened it, a figure in black wearing a mask pushed her inside while spraying something on her face. She felt dizzy and everything went black.

When she woke up, everything was dark. She found herself lying on a rubber floor. She noted the sound of waves gently slapping on the side. There were two figures sitting with her inside an inflatable boat. The two were using a paddle to steer the small boat toward what seemed to be a yacht on the distance.

She checked her watch and found out that it was 3:00 am. She breathed deeply to calm her raging emotions. It seemed like she was kidnapped. But who were these men? She pretended to be still unconscious.

The distance between them and the yacht grew smaller and smaller.

"What a pity! This girl is very pretty. However, she will be dead meat after that psycho is done with her. No woman can come out from his room alive after ravaging his prey."

She froze when she heard those words. She acted swiftly. She hit the two unsuspecting men with the paddle that was left lying on the floor. The two men grunted. She hurriedly pushed them out of the inflatable and started paddling in the direction she thought would be an island because she saw a lone light that shine brightly and then disappeared at a fixed interval. That must be a lighthouse.

The two men struggled in the water and swam desperately toward her. She used both paddles to speed up the boat until she could no longer hear the curses of the two men.

She did not stop paddling until her arms grew tired. The island seemed to be still far away. A flash of light caught her. She looked back and was horrified to see the yacht was approaching fast.

When the yacht was a few meters from her, something strange happened. The sea became restless and the waves were getting bigger and bigger. Her rubber boat capsized and she went underwater. She moved her arms and legs and tried to push her body upwards. She needed air as her lungs were about to explode.

When she surfaced, she was dumbfounded to see the yacht a few meters away from her being lifted from the water. She heard screams and then the lights in the yacht turned off. Guided by instinct, she dived back into the water and tried to swim away. She did not know which direction to take so she headed to where the lighthouse was.

She was out of air and she needed to go back to the surface to breathe. She felt that she was dying due to lack of oxygen but she suddenly felt a strong force pulling her upwards. She was out of the water in no time but was horrified because her body was not touching the water at all. She was in the air and then blackness engulfed her.

She woke with a start. She opened her eyes but was greeted by darkness. Did she have a nightmare? Why was it so vivid like it really happened to her?

She observed her surroundings. To her left she felt that something was attached to her left hand. Something tightened on her right arm and she heard a steady beeping sound.

Her room was silent and she concluded that there was no one in the room. Where was she? Why was she alone? She remembered earlier what the woman said. Her name is Mu Lan but she also called her Kristal Mu.

She tried to remember but nothing came up. Her mind was like a blank paper. She tried to move but something was restraining her arms. She sighed and decided to go back to sleep.

At the Mu mansion, Mu Heng woke at the usual time which was 6:00 am. The butler served him his favorite tea while he was seating on a reclining seat in the living room.

"Master, the hospital sent a message. The young miss has woken up."

The wrinkled hand that was holding the teacup trembled and tea spilled on his pants.

"Master Mu, are you alright?" The butler asked.

"Prepare the car and wake up Chen and Feng. I’ll go change and after breakfast, we will leave for the hospital." The old man said excitedly. He hurried back to his room to change out of his pajama.

The senior Mu and his two grandsons arrived at the hospital at 7:30 am. The Hospital Director, Doctor Tang, and the nurse were there to meet them.

"Is she awake?" Mu Heng did not beat around the bush.

"Yes, Master Mu. She was awake an hour ago. However, she cannot remember a thing and she is blind. The clot in her head has affected her vision and her memory."

Mu Heng paused. He looked at the doctor as if he was going to eat her alive. "Can’t you do something about it?"

"Master Mu, the medicine we can use on her is very limited because of her delicate condition. If you want ..."

"Do whatever it takes to remove the clot in her brain." Mu Heng cut Doctor Tang.

"Grandpa, you cannot decide for her. She is very smart. When she learns the truth she might hate you." Mu Feng spoke with such wisdom, his grandfather reconsidered. Mu Heng would never want his only granddaughter to hate him. Now that he finally found her, he wanted her to accept him as her grandpa.

"Doctor Tang, If modern medicine will not work, try an alternative medication that is not harmful to her and get back to me with your proposal. You should cure her." Mu Heng held the door knob of the VIP ward.
