Katherine froze for a moment but then she took two steps back. She did not want people to be too close to her especially, not her love rival.

She went here to get an opportunity to be with Erik but Erik already left. In the end, it was Cassie that she annoyed, and instead of pestering Aryana, she helped her by buying a lot of dresses.

Katherine pursed her lips. Because of her pride, she will never return the clothes that she was about to pay for.

Aryana was fiddling with her phone. After a few minutes, Rex and Ariel came with professional smiles.

"What a pleasant surprise to see the famous model Cassie Lopez and the heiress Katherine Lustre in our store. As a token of our appreciation for such distinguished ladies honoring our opening day, I am giving you this VIP membership card for free.

Rex Diaz spoke to the two ladies amiably. He wore a charming smile that made him look more handsome.

"I am Rex, deputy CEO of CoChi and this is my friend Ariel and an investor of CoChi."

"If you are just the deputy CEO, then who is the CEO?" Cassie asked.

"You will know very soon." Rex gave her a mysterious smile.

Cassie frowned. What kind of CEO was he? Why wouldn’t he come out in the open?

"Is he from abroad?" Cassie asked Rex.

Rex chuckled. "Nope," he replied briefly.

Katherine sized up Ariel. "You look familiar. Have we met before?"

"How can you not know him?" Cassie snorted. "He is one of the most sought-after makeup artists in the whole of Central District."

"I can’t believe that someone with a body like that is a makeup artist." Katherine wanted to pinch his abs that were still prominent beneath his white polo shirt.

Rex laughed hard. "Why? Do you think that he is a model or an actor? Looks can be deceiving. What you see on the surface is not necessarily the same thing if you dig deeper."

Katherine looked at Rex indifferently. She doesn’t care about their matters.

She did not linger in the shop as the person she wanted to be with was not around and she has no reason for staying. She left after paying for her purchases. Cassie and her friends left right after.

Aryana approached Melissa who was busy checking out the dresses.

"Are you interested to be a designer of CoChi?" She asked gently but Melissa was still startled by her.

"I haven’t studied fashion de.. design." Melissa stammered. She was awed by Aryana’s beautiful face.

"You won the logo contest. It means that you have it in you."

"I.."

"You don’t have to decide today. Please think it over." Aryana paused and studied Melissa. "Do you know that Vince was a construction worker and did not even graduate from college?"

Melissa was dumbfounded. Her mouth was wide open and her jaw dropped.

"Unbelievable!" Melissa exclaimed.

Aryana smiled gently. Her dimples dazzled the young girl in front of her.

"The most important things in design are talent and passion. If you have those, education is secondary."

Melissa nodded her head several times. She understood.

"CoChi doesn’t have its own accessories and jewelry. The position is open."

The young lady with short hair looked at Aryana unbelievingly. She thought that she was offering her a position in the fashion design department but it was jewelry designing. That was what she loved to do.

"You can send the contract to my email address." She said shyly.

Aryana gave her another sweet smile.

A month after CoChi opened its main office, the company launched its jewelry and accessory series. The new addition pushed CoChi to a new level of popularity. A lot of mall owners from different parts of the country offered partnerships that were beneficial to both parties and soon the number of CoChi’s physical stores multiplied.

"So, when are you going to come out in the open, CEO of ChoChi?" Erik was leaning against the headboard of their king-size bed. Aryana was nestled against his strong chest.

"I have to tender my resignation first from your company CEO Lee." She said groggily. She was sleepy.

Erik chuckled. "If that is what you want, I will support you." He looked down and smelt the messy auburn hair just below his chin. He loved her scent and was intoxicated by it. He loved every inch of her body and no matter how many times he explored it, he did not get tired or bored but rather he longed for more.

They were married for ten months. Marrying her was the best decision he made in his twenty-eight years of existence. It was at first a decision to protect her and to repay her father for his life but he knew in his heart that he has a selfish motive and that was to use her as a shield so his father and his grandpa will not pester him about marriage.

However, he was wrong. He underestimated the stubbornness of his grandpa. Even having a wife did not deter George Lee from trying to find him another wife.

He caressed the back of the delicate woman on his chest. He felt Aryana’s body relax. Her even breathing warmed his chest and he was tickled by it, awakening the desire that was put out after their rigorous exercise earlier.

Erik inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. Who would have thought that the little doll with big wet eyes he met when he was twelve years old has grown up to be a Barbie and was now lying in his arms? He gently kissed the top of her head then tucked her messy hair and lifted her toward the bathroom to clean her up. She was too tired and it was his fault. He was a bit rough earlier because he missed her. Both of them were busy the entire week and were too tired that the moment their backs hit the soft mattress, they were asleep. Since the following day was a weekend, Erik gave in to his desires and ravaged her a few times.

At the Lee ancestral mansion, George Lee was studying the report that was handed to him by his secretary. His wrinkled face bloomed with a gentle smile but it was gone in a blink of an eye like he never smiled at all.

"This still doesn’t change who she is!" His cold voice pierced the silence hanging in the garden of the Lee mansion.
