Erik did not want to be cooped up in the hospital so the following day, he forced Alex to sign his discharge papers. He recuperated for one more day at the Penthouse, before he reported back to work.

Erik received the prototype of the poison detector from King of Aces on the day he reported to work. The device looked like an ordinary temperature scanner. You scan the food or beverage and it will alert you if the food contained poison via the app installed in you cellphone

Erik called for Marlon and they had a closed door meeting for two hours. Afterwards, Aryana did not see Marlon.

Erik had a lunch meeting with a client together with Camille so Aryana took the opportunity to eat with Elaine at the cafeteria.

"Do you know that your photos dining with different men were all gone? Looks like you have someone protecting you and does not want your reputation to be ruined. Tell me, do you have a secret admirer?" Elaine’s barrage of questions started the moment their butts hit the chair.

"What? I don’t know what you are talking about." Aryana pretended to be dumb. "It must be Erik’s doing." she uttered to herself.

"I saw the blue rose and the rose buds in your desk the other day. Even if you are not around, the flowers continue to come." Elaine teased her.

When Elaine mentioned about the blue rose, Aryana suddenly remembered that she has not gotten back to Clark regarding the project because she was preoccupied when Erik was hospitalized.

"Hey, you want to accompany me to Batan Island next week?" Aryana thought that she better get someone to accompany her and Elaine would be the best candidate on top of Amy.

"What? Batan Island? Of course! Who would say no to such an opportunity?" Elaine’s facial expression was exaggerated. Aryana came to love her antics and her animated expressions and movements.

"I am going to do a photo shoot there for a perfume collection and some skin care products and a magazine. Do you think you can help me find an assistant who can work on a part time basis?"

"Why look for an assistant? I’ll be your assistant. As your assistant, I will get free hotel accommodation and plane fare right?" Elaine blabbered excitedly.

"The plane fare will be free and we can share the hotel room."

"Yes!" Elaine’s voice was so loud that a lot of employees eating at the cafeteria looked at her strangely.

"Oopps! Sorry, I got too excited." She lowered her voice and looked around. "When do we leave?"

"It is next Friday." We leave after work. The shoot will be on Saturday and we go back Sunday morning or maybe we can go back in the evening so we can have time to go tour the island."

"Lets go back Sunday evening so we can tour the island." Elaine repeated her words. She cannot contain her excitement. She spoke loudly again.

"By the way, are we going to met Rex after work?" Aryana previously asked Elaine to reschedule their meeting as she was taking care of Erik in the hospital.

"Yes. He will wait for us at the factory."

"That’s great! I hope they can do some samples before we sign the contract with them."

"What do you want your company to be called?" Elaine’s curiously asked.

"I haven’t thought about it yet." Aryana replied honestly. She has drafted her business plan and her company’s vision and mission statement but haven’t thought about the name yet. She also hasn’t discussed this with Erik. She should talk to him tonight.

Aryana checked her watch and it was time to finish lunch and get back to work.

"See you later." Aryana parted with Elaine and went back to her cubicle. She saw the blue rose that was still unopened in the box. She took out the gift card and read the message. "You still owe me a reply on my proposal."

Aryana opened her cell phone and sent a message to Clark. ’I am okay with the project. Please send the contract to me and my agent. Thank you for considering me as the spokesperson for such a prestigious brand.’

She hesitated before sending another message. ’Thank you for the rose, but please stop sending them. I actually have allergic rhinitis which is sometimes triggered by the scents of the flower.’

Clark replied right after she sent the message. ’Thank you for accepting. I’ll have my secretary send the details to you and your agent. And don’t worry, I will not send the rose anymore.’

She then sent a message to Erik via the company messaging app.

"Boss, I’ll be going with Elaine after work to visit a garment factory. Remember I told you about this last time at the hospital? He is the managing director of CD Fashion Institute and owns a garment factory."

Erik replied. ’Come inside my office. Let’s talk.’

Aryana was inside Erik’s office in no time and she sat on the chair in front of Erik.

Erik was frowning and Aryana knew that he was displeased.

"Do you really want to do this? If you are in need of money, I can increase your monthly allowance, though you are not spending that much."

"Erik." She spoke gently. "The reason why I did not accept Clark’s tempting proposal is that I want to learn the ins and outs of the corporate world. I want to have my own business. I’ll start and slowly grow it. It is my dream." She looked at Erik with doe eyes. ’I want to prove to the world that I am worthy to stand beside you as Mrs. Lee.’ She kept these words hidden in her heart.

Erik sighed. Every time he saw Aryana with that pleading eyes, he can only give in. "Okay. Be home early."

"Actually I have something else to tell you but it can wait for tonight. You should also leave work early and rest as you have not fully recovered yet."
