Chapter 143: Going Out Of Town
After clocking out Aryana passed by Erik’s office.
"I’m leaving now. Go home early as well."
Erik nodded. She went beside him and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. She wanted to leave right away but Erik held her on the waist and placed her on his desk. He pressed a button under his desk to lock the door.
He lowered his lips on hers and deepened his kiss.
Aryana struggled to free her mouth. "Erik, Elaine is waiting for me. Control yourself." Aryana said panting. Erik’s kisses always left her breathless.
Erik tucked her hair behind her ear and lifted her down from the desk. "Go now before I totally lose control. Come back early."
Aryana did not need to be told twice. She hurriedly left Erik’s office and headed for the elevator. She called Ben to pick her up at the company’s entrance where Elaine was waiting.
They arrived at the garment factory after an hour as traffic was heavy. Rex was already waiting for them.
"The two of you are finally here. Come inside, I’ll show you around."
The factory was not very big. It has a total of one hundred sewing machines and there were only a few people left.
We can produce a total of 200 hundred clothes a day for simple designs of course."
"Hey Rex, do you think you can create samples from three of Vince’s designs? After I see the sample then we can discuss further the collaboration." Aryana was checking out the dresses displayed on the mannequins. She doesn’t know about dressmaking but she sure can judge if the dress was of good quality or not.
’Hmmm. This girl actually looked simple but she is cunning.’
"Sure. You tell me which designs you want and which fabric to use." Rex flicked his finger which caught Aryana’s attention.
Aryana thought for a moment. "To be honest I am not knowledgeable about fabric. I guess I need to enroll in a crash course. However, if I see and touch the actual fabric I can tell which one would be best for a particular design."
Aryana browsed Vince’s notebook. She selected one cocktail dress, a casual dress and an office attire. She sent the photos to Rex.
Rex escorted them to the northern part of the factory where the fabric was kept.
It took some time before Aryana finally selected the fabric that she wanted to be used for the samples.
"I’m impressed. You really have good eyes for fashion. I agree with you though that you need to have a crash course in fashion design if you want to be serious in this business." Rex said.
"Alright, I’ll take Saturday classes at your school." Aryana agreed that Rex was right.
"When can the samples be ready? I am going to Batan Island and maybe I can wear it there and create a teaser." Aryana asked.
"It will be ready in three days." He gestured for someone to take Aryana’s measurement.
Rex offered to take them out to dinner but Aryana refused. "I’m sorry, I need to be at home for dinner. Both of you please proceed and enjoy."
On the way back, since it was only the two of them, Aryana asked Ben to let her drive which Ben complied.
Aryana was very cautious at first but once she got the hang of it, she increased her speed and was soon at Gaeya Tower basement. It took her several attempts before she successfully parked her Honda Civic.
"Pew. I didn’t know that parking is so difficult."
She handed the key back to Ben then she hurried to the CEO elevator. She sent a message to Erik and told him that she was on her way home.
When she entered the house, she smelt a pleasing aroma from the kitchen. Her stomach growled.
She was standing at the door and was surprised to see Erik wearing an apron.
"I didn’t know that the high and mighty CEO of Gaeya Corporation knows how to cook," Aryana said in a pleasant voice.
"Of course! There is nothing that I cannot do."
Aryana walked towards Erik and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"What are you cooking?" She peeked over his shoulder and saw that he was simmering the braised pork.
"Hmm, smells delicious." Aryana scooped the rice and set the table.
Erik placed the braised pork on the table and pulled a chair for Aryana.
Aryana tasted the food while Erik was watching her carefully. "This tastes good. So you are an expert chef, Mr. CEO."
Erik just laughed as he enjoyed the food. He looked at Aryana and remembered that there was something she wanted to discuss earlier.
"What were you trying to say earlier?"
"I have a photo shoot in Batan Island next week and I’ll be flying out Friday night and will be returning on the following Sunday," Aryana said carefully.
Erik’s facial expression turned gloomy.
"You can come if you like." Aryana thought to coax Erik. "But then it might trigger some rumors." She added after some thinking.
"Who is your partner?" Erik asked.
"It’s Antonio. I am tagging Elaine and Amy along." Aryana replied.
Erik just hummed. They continued their dinner in silence.
After dinner, Erik wanted to go to the study to review some documents but Aryana prevented him from doing so.
"Please take a rest. You are not fully recovered yet."
"Okay." Erik gave her a naughty smile. "I’ll listen to my wife."
The couple retired to their room. Aryana turned on the bedside lamp before she yelled "Lights off." The bedroom main light turned off and the room became dimmer.
"How’s your visit to the garment factory?" Erik asked while embracing her.
"I asked the owner to make 3 samples. After that, we can discuss the collaboration."
"Good girl. That is what you should do. Did the owner agree?"
"Yes. He has no complaints about it." Aryana paused. She turned sideways so she is facing Erik.
"I’ll be enrolling in a crash course on Fashion Designs. I need the knowledge if I want to be serious about this business." She waited for some reaction from Erik but there was none so she continued. "Erik, how difficult it is to set up a company?"
