"How come you remember it so clearly? That happened more than fifteen years ago."

Erik was taken aback by Aryana’s question. Now that he thought about it, he was also wondering why he remembered that moment very clearly. Was it because the cute little girl with pretty dimples left an impression on him?

"I have a photographic memory so I remember a lot of things clearly." He came up with an excuse. Aryana nodded. She believed him.

After some time, the heavy rain stopped and Marlon entered the ward. He handed Erik the laptop but Aryana took it from him and placed it on the bedside table. "Rest for a little more." She said.

Marlon looked at Aryana admiringly. She was the only one who can boss the boss around. He smiled slyly.

"Boss, the police found the apartment where the order for the coffee was made. The man who ordered the coffee was also the one who delivered it to the office. He pretended to be a delivery boy and was wearing the appropriate uniform. Unfortunately he died in a car accident just an hour ago."

"Is it an accident or was he murdered?" Erik’s voice was stern. His forehead was furrowed as he was thinking deeply.

"Our guess is that it is a premeditated murder but we do not have the evidence at the moment. He was hit by a taxi driver who was ferrying a passenger to a nearby mall." Marlon passed the photos of the accident to Erik.

Erik studied the photos.

"Investigate the taxi driver. Get a copy of the CCTV footage and send it to my email. I don’t think it is a coincidence. Whoever is behind this wants my head. My worry is that, they know my relationship with Aryana and not many people know about that. So there might be an insider working with the culprit."

Marlon nodded. His thoughts was the same as Erik.

"Are you saying that we are on a dead end now?" Erik asked a little disappointed.

"Not really. The police and our men are still investigating. They are looking at people who were in contact with Leo Hisson. That’s the man’s name." Marlon handed Erik the bio of Leo.

His information looked very ordinary. "Did you find out where did he get the poison he used?"

"The police are on it."

Erik frowned again. He took his cellphone and send a message to King of Aces.

"Find out all information about Leo Hisson. Also check the pharmacies if he purchased poison XX. This was the poison used in the coffee. Can you also get me a copy of the CCTV footage for an accident that happened at 10am, Palms Boulevard?"

King of Aces: On it Boss. I’ll send the info to your email.

He turned to Marlon. "Make sure that you cover all leads." He looked at Aryana worriedly. She might be implicated or framed if the culprit is not caught soon.

’Who could it be? Could it be one of my uncles who wanted to grab Gaeya Corporarion?’ Erik was deeply thinking.

"Marlon, what are your thoughts on this? You are from the intelligence unit so you must have some idea."

"Who would benefit the most if you are eliminated?" Marlon threw the question back to him.

"There are many who covets Gaeya Corporation now that it is raking billions in profit." Erik pondered for a while. "It cannot be my father right? No matter how bad my relationship is with him, he will not resort to killing me." Erik spoke in a soft tone so Aryana who transferred to the couch will not hear him.

"Uncle Jaime always wanted Gaeya Corporation. But he is weak and doesn’t have a son."

"Are you not aware that Jax is now managing the Lee banks? He left Gaeya Corp so he can learn how to manage the operations of the bank." Marlon sounded surprised at Erik’s ignorance.

Erik’s cellphone dinged. He received an email from King of Aces.

"King of Aces is really fast. He got what I needed in less than an hour." Erik praised him in front of Marlon.

"Are you alright Erik?" Aryana asked when she saw Erik winced and was massaging his temples.

Aryana moved to his other side and started to massage his temples. He started to relax.

When Marlon saw the scene before him he decided to leave and just come back later. "I’ll go find Alex first."

Aryana started humming a song. Erik loved how her melodious voice sounded. He also loved the song that Aryana was singing. It must be an old song as he was not familiar with it.

"Don’t think too much about it. I just found a random song that I am familiar with." Aryana replied casually. In reality, she decided on that song to convey her feelings towards Erik. He was right that the lyrics was meant for him but Aryana will not admit to.

"Okay, if you say so then I will not insist that you specifically selected the song for me." Erik grinned from ear to ear.
