Chapter 138: Are You Together With Him?

"Are you living together with Erik?"

Aryana took her time to lean on the wall beside the door frame and crossed her arms across her chest. Her actions irked Cassie.

"I didn’t know you are this direct Cassie. But if Erik and I are living together it has nothing to do with you." Aryana was very calm when she responded to Cassie.

Cassie clenched her fists. "Don’t you dare have designs on Erik. Erik is mine! We are each other’s first love." Cassie did not attempt to hide the anger in her voice.

Aryana just looked at Cassie. She smiled at her. The kind of smile that would leave men breathless. Even Cassie was in a daze especially when her dimples appeared on her face.

"You were his first love. But that was in the past. You left him and hurt him. So don’t blame him if he has moved on from you." Aryana enunciated her words well and it antagonized Cassie.

Cassie eyes narrowed and her blood was boiling. She was so angry that she wanted to pull Aryana’s hair and smash her beautiful face to the wall. It took her a lot of will power to calm down and leave.

Aryana smiled triumphantly. She succeeded in pissing of Cassie again.

Cassie got inside her Porsche. She did not start the engine but made a call.

"Go find someone to stalk Aryana. Better if she can ruin her face. I’ll transfer money to your account." After listening for a few seconds to what the person on the other line was saying, she hung up. She felt better.

"Let us see if you can still be arrogant after this." She muttered to herself. She revved her car’s engine and left the hospital.

Erik was in the phone talking to King of Aces while Aryana was on her mobile phone sending messages to Elaine.

"How’s the investigation going?" Erik asked in a low voice.

"Boss, I tracked the IP address of the one who placed the order and sent it to Marlon for investigation." The man in the other end of line said in a flat tone.

"Good. How about the other thing that I told you? Have you blocked the news?"

"It is done Boss. I have also activated the tracking app. Any news mentioning about your hospitalization will be deleted."

"How about the photos of me and Cassie?"

"They were already deleted. I also hacked the cellphone of the paparazzi who took your photos and planted a virus on his cellphone. It should have been wiped clean by now."

"Good. You’ll have a bonus this month."

King of Aces was grinning at the other line.

"By the way, how’s the chip?"

"It is on the final stage of testing. Boss can I ask you a question?"

"Go ahead."

"Gaeya Corporation is very successful, why are still setting up a start up company?" King of Aces was curious.

"As backup. Besides I’d like to have my own company. I’ll make you a shareholder."

"That’s not necessary boss. My salary is already sufficient. If there is nothing else, I’ll hung up Boss."

The corner of Erik’s lips were upturned. Every time he talked about compensation, King of Aces would always shy away from the conversation. What an introvert but loyal person! He considered Erik as his master and savior and has dedicated his life to serving him.

Erik frowned when he saw the anxious look on Aryana’s face while looking at her cellphone.

"Is something wrong?" Erik asked. He sat on the edge of the bed and placed his feet on the floor.

"Nothing serious. Just some netizens slandering me."

"Come here, sit beside me." Aryana obediently approached him and sat on the space beside him.

Erik took her cellphone and he saw the blog where there were photos of her dining with different men. Some of those were their clients. Erik recognized some of the photos because he was with them having their lunch at that time.

"Maybe we should clarify that these are our clients. They have malicious intent. They purposely cropped the picture and choose an angle that put me in a bad light." Aryana sadly said.

Erik lips were pursed in a thin line. "Don’t worry I’ll take care of this."

"I am not even that popular. Why are they slandering me like this?"

"Don’t underestimate yourself. Some people feel threatened by you that’s why they wanted to ruin you."

A lightning bolt flashed across the sky. Aryana happened to look out of the window and saw the sky light up with bluish light, followed by the roaring thunder. She subconsciously moved closer to Erik and nuzzled her head on his neck. Erik pulled her towards him and caged her in his arms.

"You are still afraid of thunder?" Erik asked her gently.

Aryana lifted her head and looked at him with her questioning gaze.

"The weather was like this when we met the first time."

Aryana was surprised. ’So Erik remembered the first time we met.’ It was her fifth birthday when she first met him. His father brought her to the Lee Mansion in the Green Heights District.

"The storm suddenly came at that time. There was also lightning and thunder. You came out of your father’s room at the back of the garage and you were crying and really scared." He caressed her hair.

"You were not just crying. You were wailing." Erik chuckled.

"You are making fun of me. I was just a child back then." Aryana felt wronged. Erik hugged her and kissed her briefly on the lips.

"You looked like a pretty scared doll. Your eyes were big and filled with tears. I carried you inside the living room and closed the windows to shut off the sounds of the thunder and you finally quieted down. Then you wiped your tears and your snot with the hem of your dress. You looked so cute. Then you smiled at me and I saw your dimples for the first time. I hugged you until the raging storm passed." Erik recounted what happened as if it was just a few days ago.

"How come you remember it so clearly? That happened more than fifteen years ago."
