Chapter 114: Are You Pursuing Her?

When Erik and Aryana left for the hospital, Clark and Marlon stayed behind to settle the things with the police. Clark was troubled when he saw Erik hugged Aryana earlier.

"Erik and Aryana, are they are in a relationship?" He asked Marlon.

"Do they look like they are in a relationship?" Marlon asked back.

’Damn, even his assistant also answers vaguely.’ He cursed.

"Yes. Your boss looked so worried and he hugged her earlier." He studied Marlon’s facial expression but his face was like a blank piece of paper.

"Why don’t you ask the concerned people directly instead of others." Marlon challenged Clark with his gaze.

"Are you the one sending Aryana the blue rose?" Marlon probed.

Clark was silent. His silence was a confirmation for Marlon.

"Are you secretly pursuing her?" Marlon asked.

"I just wanted to sign her up as an exclusive model for my company." He wanted it to appear that it is only about business to cover up his original intent.

At the hospital, Erik asked a doctor to examine Aryana while Vincent was admitted at the ER to have his wounds and bruises treated.

"I am alright Erik. It’s just a little bruise." Aryana said laughing a little.

"It is still a bruise." Erik protested. "You don’t know how scared I was earlier."

"They aren’t professional kidnappers. Besides my training helped me a lot. It was so easy to beat them." Aryana said proudly as she flexed her muscles in front of Erik.

"I didn’t know you were ruthless. What did you do to their manhood?" Erik was grinning.

"They were so disgusting. The way they undressed me with their lewd gazes and their saliva dripping. On my gosh!" Aryana closed her eyes as if trying to erase the ugly scenes from her memory. "They also said that they did it to a few other girls. So they will never be able to do it in the future!"

Erik hugged her and smoothened her hair.

"I am sorry, I made you suffer. I should have gone to the site with Marlon instead of you. Such a big issue should have been handled at my level." Erik apologized to Aryana. He felt his throat itched again so he took a water bottle and finished the content.

"But you were in a closed door meeting earlier." Aryana suddenly remembered the meeting between Erik and Cassie.

Erik had a gloomy look on his face. "Marlon of all person should know which things are more important. Cassie was just presenting a business plan for the company that her grandfather has setup for her. They asked us to invest and that’s what we discussed during dinner last night. I haven’t seen the plan and I cannot invest on something I haven’t seen so she presented it to me." Erik explained.

Aryana’s heart sunk. While Erik came clean about last night’s dinner with Cassie, it still doesn’t sit well with her that Erik and Cassie will soon be business partners.

Aryana found that Erik’s voice was a bit raspy. "Are you alright? Your voice is a bit hoarse. Did you catch a cold?"

"I guess I just have too much sweets to eat. I finished the entire box of cookies." Erik has a guilty look on his face. He looked like a child caught doing something naughty.

"What! The entire box? Didn’t I tell you to just eat two or three? If I hadn’t gotten the second box, I am pretty sure you have finished it as well." Aryana was angry her face was flushed.

"Sorry. I only realized I finished them when all the cookies were gone." Erik said awkwardly.

"I don’t blame you. I have a lot of discipline when it comes to sweets and calories. However when I ate the cookie, I can’t help but take another serving. So the cookie is addictive." Aryana was hinting something at Erik.

"Drink plenty of water to flush out the sugar in your body and no more sweets for today." She handed him a water bottle which Erik accepted.

They were interrupted when the doctor came in. She checked Aryana’s bruises and applied ointment. She said that Aryana was fine and they could be discharged anytime.

"What time did you leave the office?" Aryana asked. She wanted to know what time did Erik finished the meeting with Cassie.

"Around 11am." Erik replied honestly.

Aryana calculated. So he spent two hours with Cassie. Her heart soured. She was jealous.

Aryana’s stomach growled. She realized she hadn’t had her lunch and was hungry.

"Are you hungry?" Erik asked. Aryana nodded.

He called a body guard who was standing outside the ward. The bodyguard left and came back after thirty minutes with two take out boxes.

Aryana didn’t realized how hungry she was until the delectable food in the bento box was laid down in front of her by Erik. It was from a Japanese restaurant and she was grateful that the meal came with a miso soup which was her favorite. She finished it in one gulp.

"Those scumbags have used up all my energy." She uttered as she continued to stuff her mouth with the makis and sushi’s using the chop sticks.

Aryana suddenly smiled.

"What are smiling? What made you suddenly so happy?" Erik asked curiously.

"I just remembered the look on your faces when you forced open the door earlier. I wished I had taken a photo. The policemen were looking at me as if I were a villain." Aryana chuckled.

"Silly girl. Even I was too shocked. We were so worried about you. I was so scared that something bad happened to you especially when nobody is picking up when I was calling your number. I expected that if not you, at least one of the kidnappers should pick up." Erik looked at her with a twinkle in his eyes.

"Then we saw you standing and all three men were on the floor. Who wouldn’t be shocked with that scene?"

Aryana laughed. She then took out her cellphone out of her bag but the battery has run out. She plugged it on the nearby outlet to charge it.

Erik received a call from Camille. He was urgently needed back at the office.

"Please go. I can stay here for a while and check on Vince"

Erik frowned. "Why do you need to do that?"

"I promised to help him and his wife." Aryana always wanted to be honest with Erik to avoid any misunderstanding.

"Why do you care so much about a stranger?" Erik was displeased.
