Chapter 113: I Am The Victim!

"This is Lieutenant Rex Abares. He is assigned to this case." Clark introduced the police officer to Erik. Erik took the hand he extended and shook it lightly.

"Can people enter from the roof?" Erik asked the lieutenant.

"Yes. Our alpha team is on it while the bomb squad is deactivating the bomb at the main entrance of the building." The lieutenant said in a polite manner.

"How long have they been inside?" Erik asked as he started pacing.

"Two hours." It was Marlon who replied.

’Two hours. A lot could happen in two hours!’ Erik took out a cigarette and started smoking. He was anxious. Clark cast him a curious glance.

Out of the blue they heard a horrendous cry. It was a male’s voice. And then silence.

"What’s that?" Marlon asked.

"It looks like a man’s cry and it came from the third floor. Have your men reached the third floor?" Erik asked the lieutenant.

The lieutenant spoke on his mouth piece.

"No. They just cleared the sixth floor and on their way to the fifth floor. Eight and seventh floor are cleared and they did not find any hostages."

"The main entrance is cleared. Bravo team is going in." A junior police officer reported to his lieutenant.

Just as the junior officer finished reporting, they heard screams of pain from a man. It was coming from the 3rd floor. And then there was silence.

The people outside the building were looking at each other baffled by the screams they just heard. The screams sounded like the man was in excruciating pain.

"Sir, the ground and second floor are cleared. Alpha team found the room where the hostage was taken. Unfortunately there is only one entrance and the door is blocked by a bomb. The bomb squad is trying to deactivate the bomb."

When Erik heard that Aryana was on the third floor, he rushed inside the building.

"Sir, don’t go in there. It is not safe!" The lieutenant tried to stop Erik but he was a bit late. Marlon, Clark and his body guards followed.

Soon the bomb squad discovered to their embarrassment that the bomb was not a real bomb at all. It was just some old cellphone wrapped in layers of wires.

"The bomb is a hoax." The squad leader announced.

The alpha and the bravo team converged at the third floor. They kicked the door open with the nuzzle of their guns pointed ahead.

They were shocked by what they saw. A man was lying on his back sprawled on the floor. He was unconscious. Not far away from him another man was lying in prone position. A piece of cloth was stuffed in his mouth. A third man was sitting on the floor and leaning on the wall. His hands and legs were tied with layers of ropes.

Then their gazes finally landed on a tall beautiful woman who was standing in front the young man, her arms were crossed over her chest. Apart from the bruises on her arms and wrists, she stood there unscathed.

The police officers were confused.

’Isnt this a case of hostage taking? Where is the hostage?’ They looked at their lieutenant in confusion.

"Why are your guns pointed at me? I am the victim here." Aryana said as she raised her hands up in the air.

The policemen immediately lowered their gums.

Marlon laughed. "And here we are so worried about you. But you are unscathed!"

Erik and Carl recovered from their shock. Carl approached Aryana but Erik was faster. He examined the bruise on her arms and wrists.

"Are you hurt somewhere else?" He took off his coat and put it on her. He wanted to hug her but there are so many people around.

"I am fine. I got this because they tied me earlier with a rope." She pointed at the bruise on hee wrists.

The policemen untied Vince and was about to handcuff him when Aryana stopped them. "Not him. Just handcuff those two scumbags!"

Marlon and Clark looked at each other.

"Aryana isn’t he the mastermind? I saw him pressed the knife on you." Marlon was careful with his words as he could feel Erik’s glare at him.

"What! He held a knife at you?" He asked Aryana then threw a sharp gaze at Vince was looking down at the floor. Guilt was written all over his face.

"Yes. But he saved me in the end. Those two wanted to rape me. He fought with them. Though they eventually beat and tied him up, his kicks and punches considerably weakened them. It was easier for me to beat them especially when their minds were clouded by lust." Aryana was disgusted when she said the last part of her sentence.

Erik flinched when he heard her words. He hugged her tight. "I’m so sorry Yana I was late."

"It is okay. Looked I am fine."

The two men regained their consciousness. They beg the policemen to take them to the hospital.

"You bitch, we will sue you for bodily injury. You ruined our manhood..."

Baldie wasn’t able to finish his sentence as a strong punch landed on his face. It was Erik. He threw a punch to Long Hair. Marlon restrained him before he continue beating the two poor men.

Long Hair and Baldie were already handcuffed. They were waiting for direction from their lieutenant what to do with the third man.

"Boss Erik, let’s take him to the hospital. He was beaten because of me."

"It is his fault. If he did not kidnap you, all these should not have happened. " Erik was displeased. He doesn’t understand why Aryana wanted to protect the mastermind of her kidnap.

"He saved me. I owe it to him." Was all Aryana could say. She looked at him with pleading eyes.

Erik sighed. How can he say no to her when she looked at him with those pleading eyes.

The police officer took Aryana’s statement. She also recounted what happened, the fight between the three men, how she removed the rope and how she defeated the two men.

"Lieutenant, this is the first time I witness the hostage takers turned to victims." The junior lieutenant’s voice was low so others cannot hear him. "Do we really let go of the master mind?"

"Well it is also my first time. As for your second question, you heard her, she is not filing charges against him. So there is nothing we can do about it."
