The Alpha's long lost heir
Chapter 248: Lycan king Archi

Chapter 248: Lycan king Archi

Two full moons had passed, and Archi’s coronation day was drawing near. Oberon made sure everything was complete, he didn’t want his son’s coronation to be a failure.

The pack was informed about Archi’s coronation day, they prepared for it as well. Everybody was eagerly awaiting his coronation, The King’s lost heir.

The big day soon arrived. Everyone was preparing for it. The maids made sure the throne room, where the coronation would be held, was kept properly clean. The guards decorated the hallways, the living room, the palace exteriors too. It was one busy morning.

Archi stood in his room, facing the mirror, his heart thumping really hard. He was wearing a flowing robe, and a girdle around his waist, then a large, red mantle was pinned to his garments.

"Today is finally the day," he swallowed hard, trying to calm his nervous self down.

A knock on the door startled him. He slowly turned in the door’s direction, "Come in," he said firmly.

The door opened revealing Nyx. She wore a bright smile on her face, "Mother," his tensed nerves calmed down.

She was wearing a light blue gown that had flowery designs on it. Her hair was packed up in a bun, and she wore light makeup.

He walked over to her, then hugged her tightly, "Mother it is today," he whispered.

She patted his back, "I know my dear, you will be fine."

He gulped down, disengaging from hug, "This is weird, but I am very nervous mother."

"It is a normal thing to feel nervous," she squeezed his hand, now you have to go there, and enter a new phase of your life."

Her lips lightened as she tried to hold back her tears.

"Are you crying? You do not have to cry mother, it is a happy occasion, besides you will ruin your makeup if you do."

She bit his arm, "You, these are tears of joy," she rolled her eyes, then raised her nose in pretend annoyance.

He tugged her nose, "Oh well, I am sorry."

"Okay, I have to go now, let me go see how the preparations are going," she flashed him a side smile, then left his room.

He exhaled deeply, walking towards his bed. He wasn’t exactly looking forward to this day like normal people would, but then, it was a responsibility he had to fulfill.

" I hope I can help myself," he exhaled deeply, "I just can not stand to do anything wrong," he balled his fists, "Justice and.."

Another knock on his door cut him off. He knotted his brows together, had his mother come here again? He stood up, heading to the door, "Mother, you do not have to be so dramatic all the time-" he opened the door, but Oberon was the one who was standing there.

"Oh, your mother is in the Kitchen."

Archi blinked, "Father.." he swallowed hard, "Why are you here?"

"To see you before the coronation of course," he ruffled his son’s hair, "I am so proud of you," he chuckled.

"Come in."

"No, that is not necessary. I did not come for long talks, I just wanted to remind you, this is who you are now, the pack now rests on your shoulders."

"I still do not know how to feel about that," he replied truthfully.

"Do not worry too much, son. I am still here for you, you can always come to meet me for advice, I will not run away."

"I know, but I have to learn how to make decisions on my own too," he hung his head, "I hope I do not mess this up."

"You will not, do not worry so much. I trust you, and I know you are capable of this. Good luck," he patted his left shoulder, walking away.

Archi sucked in his teeth, "This is who I am," he returned into his room waiting to be called upon.

----

Soft music was playing in the throne room as he stood outside, his heart racing fast.

He breathed in deeply for the last time, "You have got this," he patted his chest, before the gigantic doors were open.

"Here comes in our soon-to-be Lycan king! The crowned prince, Archi Randulph enters the room!"

Everyone rose to their feet, clapping their hands, and singing his praises.

Archi took another deep breath, then sauntered gracefully into the throne room, his head, and shoulders held high. The ovation increased as he continually neared the throne.

Nyx was more than proud seeing her son wanting to be crowned King. Tears sprang to her eyes as she kept on chanting his praises, clapping as loudly as she could.

The elders were standing in a row, waiting for him, Zephyr standing in the middle. Archi reached where they stood, his head slightly bowed.

The whole room was thrown into applause, and cheering, "Long live the king!"

Icarus raised his hands so they would be silence in the house, "Silence! The coronation is about to begin!"

The entire room fell into silence.

"Silence! The coronation is about to begin!" Icarus raised his hands, and the room fell quiet, all eyes were fixed on them.

Zephyr cleared his throat, then began his speech.

"Today, we are here to witness the crowning of our rightful king. A leader chosen not just by birth, but by fate. A crown is not just gold; it carries great responsibility, and today, that duty will rest on new shoulders; strong, capable, and worthy.

A king is not defined by his throne or his crown, but by the way he leads.

Archi has faced trials that would have broken others, yet he stands here, ready. His journey has not been easy, but challenges shape true rulers.

With this coronation, we do not simply place a crown on his head—we place our trust in him to lead us. May the moon goddess witness this moment."

A guard came forward with a Regal Rest, bearing the crown, and the sceptre, his head bowed as he stretched his hand Zephyr.

Zephyr took the crown, hovering it over his head, "With the power vested on me as the eldest of the elders, I now crown you Lycan king, Archi Randulph I."

The room tore into a round of applause, cheering his name loudly.

With shaky hands, he took the sceptre. The elders then stepped down for him. He climbed the steps leading to his throne, then stopped in front of it, his head spinning slightly.

Straightening his back, he sat on the throne. The people, except his parents,at once bowed with their faces to the ground.

He breathed in savoring the moment for a while, before ordering them to stand up.

He also rose to his feet, "Good day to the people of the Lycanthropy pack. I am more than honored to be your new King."

A deafening cheer erupted from the crowd, claps and praises filling the air. Archi waited for them to settle before continuing.

"This crown is not just a symbol of power; it is a promise. A promise that I will lead with strength, wisdom, and fairness. A promise that I will stand beside you in times of peace and fight for you in times of war.

I was not born in the palace, nor was I raised in the ways of royalty, but I have learned that a king is not measured by where he comes from, but by how he leads. Today, I take this oath not for myself, but for all of you.

Together, we will build a future where every member of this pack stands strong. Where our lands are protected, our voices are heard, and our traditions are honored.

So I ask you, members of the lycanthropy, will you stand with me?"

The crowd erupted once more, their voices roaring in unity.

"Then let this be the beginning of a reign that we build together. Long live the Lycanthropy Pack!"

The people still continued roaring in a frenzy, clapping about, and dancing around.

The elders stood in a corner watching the drama unfold, their faces looking not so pleased.

Archi raised his hands, causing the room to fall into silence.

"There is one important thing I would like to do today," his eyes fell on the elders.

"The three of you shall no longer be my council of elders. Your tenure ended with my father."

Thier jaws dropped in shock, what was he doing? He was just coroneted a few minutes ago, and now he started enforcing laws?

"Also from today I would like to make a decree. The successors in years to come should not have to go through the burden of trying to find their mate before they can ascend the throne. He will ascend the throne with or without his mate, as that is his right!"

The clapped in agreement with his decree.

"Long live the king! Long live the king!"

"I knew he was going to be a tyrant!" Zephyr cried, but no one could hear him as the people’s screams of jubilation were too loud.

"He has already started making laws! Who gave him the right to change these laws?! Worse, he just dismissed us just like that!" Roshan gritted his teeth.

"I can not bear to stand here another minute longer," Icarus scrunched up his nose in disgust.

"I am coming with you," Roshan spoke up.

"Me too," Zephyr added.

Together, they all pushed their way through the people, and out of the throne room.

Archi was having a hard time trying to quieten the people down, he raised his hands countless times before they managed to quieten down.

"I want to assure you all that justice will be fair and firm during my reign. Anyone who commits a crime will be punished based on how serious it is. I promise that no wrong will go unpunished. So, I urge you, choose your actions wisely."

He sauntered down the steps, walking towards the middle of the hall. The people gave way so he could see more space in walking freely.

"Now, let us move to the banquet," he announced, his voice rising with a touch of warmth. "Feasting awaits, and it is time to celebrate this new Chapter. Come, join me in celebration of my new Chapter as a symbol of unity."

He led the way, his posture regal, but his expression softened as he made his way to the feast. The chatter of the crowd grew louder as they followed, all eager to delve into the activities that followed the coronation.

***

The mood in the banquet hall shifted from the official blandness of the throne room to wild excitement in the banquet hall. The room was decked out in beautiful plants, and flowers, and golden chandeliers filled the space with a warm glow. The air smelled rich with the aroma of roast meats, fresh fruits, and sweet desserts, making everyone’s mouths water.

Archi walked confidently to the center of the hall, heading towards the table that were set exclusively for the members of the royal family. He sat at the head of the table, Nyx, then Oberon came to join him. Soon, Klaus, and Dora were reclining at the table.

As he settled the long table laid with food, the sound of drums filled the air, and a group of dancers appeared. They were dressed in colorful silks and moved with grace and energy. Their bodies moving in perfect rhythm, and they spun and twirled, giving the people quite a sight to behold.

Next, a group of singers stepped up, their voices rising in harmony as they sang songs about the kingdom’s history. The music was beautiful, and everyone listened in awe, enjoying the melody, and their beautiful voices.

Servants moved around the hall, offering trays of food and cups of wine. People laughed, clinked their cups, and toasted to Archi.

Nyx was behind herself with pleasure. Her face was beaming with gracious smiles as people approached their table to gift Archi.

After a while, Archi got up to go greet as many of the people as he could, thanking them for their presence.

Soon, he was standing at the head of the hall, holding a glass of wine, watching the celebration unfold. The cheers and laughter filled the room, but his mind was elsewhere. He had made his decree, but something didn’t feel right. He glanced around, looking for something, or someone, he couldn’t seem to find.

Where was Aria?

She should have been here at his coronation, but she wasn’t. That hurt him to think that his mate would miss out on his coronation day.

"Where are you? Please come here at least," he whispered, his eyes scanning the room for any sign of her.

"What is the matter son?" He felt his mother’s hand on his shoulder. He looked over his shoulder to see her looking at him worriedly.

"Are you okay?"

He nodded, "Yes mother. I am enjoying the celebration, I just want to step outside for a bit, it is becoming overwhelming," he handed her his glass, then walked outside the banquet hall.

Archi walked through the halls, away from the banquet room, heading towards the main gate, his heart pounding.

"Could it be that her father had stopped her from coming?" His face went red with rage, "Damn it, that old man."

He continued his walk to the door silently hoping she would at least run through the front door.

"Archi!" He heard a shaky voice beside him.

He turned in its direction, only to see Aria, waving at him. Furthermore, he hurriedly went over to meet her.

"Aria! Are you okay? What happened?" He wrapped his arms around her.

"It was my father, he would not let me out of the house. I had to run away somehow, and I am sure he will kill me if I dared return there."

"He will not lay a hand on you," his face hardened.

"What can I do? He is my father, after all."

He shook his head, "You are staying here with me Aria, there is no two ways about that, neither can your father attempt to do anything."

Aria pulled her head backwards, her eyes were filled with admiration for him.

"Now, we should head to the banquet, hm?" He winked.

"She nodded, "Sure."

They disengaged from the hug. He took his hand, leading her to the banquet hall.
