Chapter 237: Confessions..
Nyx was on her knees, sobbing loudly. Gladys, and Yvonne knelt besides her trying to console her.
"My lady..."
"If anything happens to him, then I will be finished. I do not want to lose him," she croaked.
"Please stop crying. Let us just hope the king survives, if he does, then everything will be further decided."
Nyx stopped crying, "If Oberon survives," she blinked her eyes, "Yes, I still have a chance," she nodded frantically, "Oberon will be of help."
"So calm down, there is nothing to worth about," Gladys patted her back.
"Where was he taken to?"
"The crimson’s den," Yvonne replied.
Nyx was weakened, "What? There! That is where.."
"He will be able to survive hopefully," Yvonne spoke up.
Gladys pulled her into a hug, "Please, calm down. He will be fine."
Nyx burst into tears again, "My son," she gripped her chest, "He is in this because of me!" She bawled, "What will I do if he is not with me?" She hid her face in Gladys chest.
"Please stop crying Nyx, none of this will change the fact he is already in the den. We just have to find a way to make sure Oberon is fine, healed for a start."
Nyx quickly wiped the tears off her face, "I have to find a solution to his wounds," she staggered to her feet.
"NYy, the doctors will take care of that."
"The sooner I can heal him, the faster my son will be let out of there," she made for the door.
"See him."
Gladys tried to speak.
"Do you not have a child? Would you want your child to suffer? Just like that?"
"You do not understand, I do not mean it that way," Gladys shook his head.
"What do you mean then? You know the palace doctors are useless!" She yelled, " I want my son out of that horrible place! If there is anyone who should be punished... It should be me," her voice dropped to that of a whisper.
"Of course, you should.. carry on," Gladys looked away.
"Be careful," Yvonne told her.
"Carefulness is not really needed at this point," she said to herself, walking out of the room.
"She is being too emotional," Gladys held her head.
"No Gladys, she is in pains. You are a mother as well, you should understand what she is going through," she held her hand, "We have to be patient with her, she needs us."
Gladys pursed her lips, "I guess you are right," she nodded.
---
Nyx stopped in front of the room. Her hands trembled as she held the door knob. She turned the door knob, then opened the door.
She peeked in, before fully opening the door. She walked towards the bed, her whole body shaking with grief at sight before her.
Oberon had not yet been attended to, so his wounds were not yet bandaged. There were a lot of holes created in his body.
Nyx dragged herself to his side, "My son has turned against you."
"How did it get to this?"
She fell to her knees besides him, "Why? Why?" She asked no one in particular.
She took another look at his body, "What can solve this? He is badly injured."
His breathing was very slow, it looked as if he was dead already.
"Please, do not die. I need you to get my son out of there," she clasped her hands together, "I have helped you before right? Please help my son," she sniffled, "I want you to take my son out of here."
She buried her face in the bedsheets, muffling her cries, "What did I ever do to warrant a cursed life? First you were taken away from me, now they want to take away my son too?"
She broke down in sobs, "Please come back to me. Give me back my son."
She hugged herself, sniffling. What will I do?
She raised her head, to look at his battered body. Looking at the table beside her, there were bandages, and some ointments.
She took a bandage and began wrapping his wounds, her hands shaking as tears ran down her face. "Please, come back to me," she whispered. "Make my life whole again." Her voice cracked as she carefully dressed his arms, shoulders, and legs. Every wound she touched felt like a wound in her own heart, "I am sorry."
She applied ointment to his chest, her fingers trembling. "I do not want this life of hate anymore," she said, shaking her head. "It has only hurt me. It has never brought me peace." A sob escaped her lips. "I just cannot do it anymore."
Her eyes filled with fresh tears as she looked at his still face. "If only I had forgiven you sooner... you would not be lying here like this." She held his hand, pressing it against her cheek. "I should have let go. Maybe then, I would not be here, begging you to stay."
"I only caused you more headaches even when you made it clear you would make it up to me. I was greedy, I wanted more than I should have, fate already taught you a lesson, but I was so blind with rage I could not see it," her vision was blurred with tears.
"I still love you so much Oberon," she confessed, "I always had. Maybe it was the anger from the divorce, and the hatred towards Selena that made me behave foolishly."
"I am sorry about Archi. I did not mean to plant hate in his heart, I made a mistake, forgive me please," her hands dropped to hold his, "I love you so much, please do not leave me. I am sorry for acting so foolishly in the past. Please wake up, and we can start all over, from the scratch. You, and me, and our son.. as a family."
She leaned forward then kissed the back of his hand, "I- forgive you, and I hope you will forgive me too."
