The Alpha's long lost heir
Chapter 236: I am sorry

Chapter 236: I am sorry

Nyx was busy cleaning up Klaus’s room, when she heard a knock on the door. She looked over her shoulder, "Yes, who is it?"

Gladys came into the room, "Lady Nyx?" She burst through the door, her eyes almost popping out of her sockets.

Nyx’s heart almost dropped, "What? How did you know?"

Gladys gawked, "What do you mean? Do you not know what is going on? Your son is in the throne room! He almost killed his father!"

Nyx gasped, "Oh my goodness, what are they about to do t him?!" She rushed to the door.

"He is currently going his trial, the elders might have no mercy on him!" Gladys added.

Nyx wheezed past her, "Oh no! My son! My son!" She cried, running through the hallways.

"I knew something bad was going to come out of this! What was I thinking even supporting him!?!" Tears sprang to her eyes.

She reached the throne room, then burst through the door, "Wait! Wait!" She screamed, falling on her knees as soon as she got in.

Zephyr sighted her, and gasped. Her scarf had fallen off, revealing her face.

"Nyx? You are here with him?" His voice was almost a whisper.

Nyx managed to get to her feet, she briskly walked towards where Archi was kneeling, before the elders.

"Please have mercy on him! Please!" She fell besides her son sobbing loudly.

The maids and guards were now reeling in shock. Nyx has been among them all these while?

Roshan’s shoulders drooped, visibly shaken, "Nyx.. I can not believe you would support your son trying to kill the King! You are his.."

"No!" She sharply cut him off, "If he had been the mate he was supposed to be, we would not be going through all these!" She inhaled sharply.

"Mother, what are you doing here?" She heard Archi’s muffled voice. She turned to face him, throwing her hands around him.

"Archi," she croaked, "I told you this was a bad idea, now you might get killed," her body shook with her incessant cries.

"I will be fine Mother," he managed to smile, "I finally got justice for you," he sniffled.

"What is that justice if I am going to lose you!"

"That is enough!" Icarus spoke up.

"Nyx glanced at him, then back at her son, "I will get you out of this, I promise," she sniffled, gently disengaging from the hug.

"I suggest you leave this place Nyx," Zephyr hardened his face, "I am really disappointed in you."

"I do not care about your disappointment! You all are just the same! Same cold hearted, evil, and very.."

Roshan rose to his feet, "Take her from here!" He ordered.

Some guards came forward, and grabbed her hand, "No! Leave me alone! I want nothing but good for my son! Leave me!" She kicked about, tears streaming down her face, as she desperately tried to break free from their iron grip. But they were too powerful, and she was no match for their strength. Despite her struggles, they dragged her away, throwing her out of the throne room.

The maids kept murmuring among themselves, shock evident on their faces.

"I can not believe Lady Nyx would want to kill her ex-husband."

"I can not blame her though, I mean his majesty just divorced her without mercy at first."

So on, and so on, they kept blabbering.

Roshan heaved, his shoulders drooping, "Now, back to you," he cleared his throat, referring to Archi, then sat down.

"Why would you want to harm your father? What did he do to you?" Zephyr asked calmly.

"That is not for you to know," he replied coldly.

"Archi, be polite," Icarus warned him.

"You should have told that to Alcide’s son when he just mercilessly divorced my mother," he hung his head.

Zephyr’s jaw dropped, "What a blatantly rude young man! Is this how you would have ascended the throne!"

"I never asked for it. I would not want to inherit the throne of one I killed."

The elders were visibly disturbed. Archi almost killed his father, and he didn’t seem disturbed or fazed at all.

"I can not believe Nyx did a bad job in raising you! Such a rogue..."

Archi’s chains shattered as he burst free, his eyes blazing. "Not another word about my mother!" With a deadly swipe, he extended his claws and struck at Zephyr’s face.

Some of the guards ran over to him, gripping him back.

"What is the meaning of this?" Roshan cried, "You are becoming worse!"

"Take my mother out of this, this is involving me, not her," he growled.

Snow nodded slowly, "I see."

"Take him away! Lock him in the crimson den!" Icarus yelled, "Take him away now!"

Archi didn’t even try to pull away when they surrounded him, taking him out of the throne room.

The maids all shook their heads in pity, "He is such a beautiful man, how could he do this?" One of the maids whined.

"If possible, I would run away with him. It is obvious he did this for his mother," another replied.

Zephyr still held his injured face, his heart pounding fast. That young man had a lot of power!

"Dismissed!" Icarus yelled, "You all can leave!"

The crowd slowly began to disperse, their my murmuring growing louder as they left.

Maverick, and snow approached the elders, "At least hear his side of the story. We all know he has been gone for a long time. Why would he just show up, not even for any reason other than to kill his father?"

"You do not know what you are saying!" Roshan cut him off sharply, "He attempted to eliminate the king!"

"Archi is his son!" Maverick chipped in.

"No, he does not deserve to live. Who knows what he has been doing, all because he wanted to get at his father?" Zephyr rose to his feet, his eyes darkening.

Snow scrunched up his nose in disgust, "Do not act all righteous all of a sudden, you do know he is still very young!"

"That is no excuse. He is old enough to know what is right, and wrong," Icarus rolled his eyes.

Maverick shook his head, "You should have told that to Oberon while he was divorcing Nyx all those years ago, right? Why did you have to make him marry her in the first place?"

"Watch your tongue!" Roshan warned.

Snow tugged at Maverick’s hand, "I do hope the king survives. These people should no longer be the elders," saying that, they walked away.

"Snow! You know who you are talking to right?!" Icarus yelled after them, "Watch the way you speak!"

Roshan held him back, "They will learn the hard way..They will learn the hard way."

---

The guards threw Archi into the crimson’s den. Archi fell hard onto the cold stone floor, his skin scraping against it. He groaned and tried to get up, but his body felt too heavy.

The guards shut the big iron door behind him. It made a loud noise that echoed in the room. He heard the sound of locks and chains, trapping him inside.

He sat up slowly. The dim red light made his head spin. The air felt strange, like it was pressing against him. There was no way he could get out of here, this place had weakened him to the bone.

He lay back down on the cold floor, tears welling up in his eyes again, "I am sorry."
