The Alpha's long lost heir
Chapter 219: Hallucination 2

Chapter 219: Hallucination 2

He reached for the door, bursting through it, and running to the garden. She was really here! She actually came back?!

"My love," his voice was choked, yet there were a thousand emotions in it.

She had been gone seven years, and decided to just appear again from nowhere. How could she just play with his emotions like that? All these years, there was just a lone feeling gnawing at his heart threatening to tear it apart, but then it didn’t, it only gnawed at his chest, left, then came back to torture him even more.

He then arrived at the garden, but there was no sign of Nyx. He was now panting heavily, but his eyes relentlessly searched the garden.

"What? Where is she?" He walked further into the garden, "Nyx? Nyx? Where did you go?" He called out.

"She was here, I knew I saw her, she had smiled at me. Where did she go all of a sudden?" He panted.

In one second, his hopes had been brutally dashed against the rock? Was he hallucinating?

"Nyx?" He stood there feeling defeated, and broken again.

He felt so helpless, he thought he would break down there in sobs.

"Is there something you are looking for, your highness?" He heard a voice behind him.

He sharply turned around to see Logan standing in the shadows. He creased his brows.

"What are you doing here Logan?"

"Oh, same thing you came to do, watch the stars," he looked at the sky with a pretend smile on his face.

Oberon blinked, then looked away, "Oh, that.. is not.. forget it."

"Is something wrong, your highness? You look worried?" He probed further, a smirk lying on his face.

Oberon rubbed his hands together, "It is nothing, have a good night," his voice turned icy cold, and he turned on his heels.

"I heard you call her name."

He stopped on his tracks, then looked over his shoulder, "What?"

"Your lover’s name I guess, you were searching frantically for her? Is she okay?" He came a little closer.

Oberon pursed his lips, this Logan guy did seem harmless, but he still didn’t know if he should tell him everything or just walk away.

"It is nothing to be worried about, just go to sleep or.."

"It is fine, I understand what you are going through, even my mate, I still have not gotten her yet," he patted his shoulders.

"No, she is my mate too," he tried to correct him.

"Really? Who searches for their mate in that manner? Is she not with you?"

Oberon felt guilty, and hurt by his questions. His face burned with embarrassment, "No, I.. do not know where she went. She left here thirteen years ago."

"Oh my," he pretended to be concerned, "You are not okay, your highness. Do you need someone to talk to?"

"I do, but.."

"You are still skeptical about me," he chuckled, "That is fine, I understand where you are headed, I do not blame you. After all, who am I to even stand in the same garden with the king?" He turned around, but a sneer was on his face.

"That is not it, you should not think that way, I just do not know how to express my feelings to most people."

"Oh."

Oberon walked to one of the benches then sat on it, "I am just a ball of emotions right now, I do not know what to feel anymore," he palmed his face.

"Do you mind if I sit beside you?"

"Of course, that is not a problem," he palmed his face.

Logan grinned, going to sit beside him, "Are you going to say anything else then?"

"You probably heard me calling her name, right?"

"I did, Nyx."

Oberon gulped, "She is my mate, but for some unknown reason thirteen years ago, she decided to just leave here claiming there was this danger that was going to hit the palace if she did not leave."

"Hm."

"Thirteen painful years has passed since then, not once did she come back. I do not even know where she might have went."

"Oh, so you do not know where exactly to start looking for her."

"I did look for her a few times, I never found her," he rested back on the bench, "It hurts to think I can not have her near me again, I just want her back.."

Archi just stared at him this time, not knowing what to say to him.

"It literally hurts because she is not around, I still do not know if this is part of the punishment for what I did twenty years ago, or my fate."

’Your real punishment have not even begun,’ he shook his head, trying so hard not to swipe off his neck with his claws.

"I miss her."

"Do you?" He blurted out.

"What?"

Realizing what he just did, he cleared his throat, "Oh, sorry, that was not for you."

"Oh, okay," he grunted.

"I am sorry, your highness, she probably does not want history to repeat itself."

Oberon hung his head, regardless of what he did, someone always found a way to make him guilty all over again. Why could he not just sense Nyx from the start.

"All of this is too much. I do not have my mate near me, my son is also far away from me. I am just a hopeless wolf existing waiting for the hands of death to snatch me away. There is nothing else to live for."

Archi’s heart leapt. He wanted death too! This was perfect, this was just perfect.

Archi grinned, ’He is already hopeless, of course he would want death. Let me torture him first before killing him, that would be much better.’

"You should not bother yourself too much, she might come back one day, who knows?" He chuckled.

Oberon faced him, "You think so? I do not know why, but I can not shake off that feeling that they are close by, but I do not see them."

Archi’s smile disappeared. What was with him, and these feelings of his?

"Hm?"

"Incase I did not tell you before, just know that you remind me so much of my son, if he were here, you both would have been very close," he got to his feet.

Archi quickly avoided his gaze, "Is that so?"

"I like you already. You seem to be a kind, and hardworking man," he ruffled his hair, "Goodnight son," he patted his head, then walked away.

He could feel his heart almost burst open when Oberon called him son. A part of him did want a father’s love, but he never did, even the days he got to spend with him were cut short.

He rested back on the bench, "Why exactly did you never come for me, and you say you miss me?" Tears threatened to blur his vision.

He quickly wiped the tears off with his thumb, "Well good luck getting the death you really want," he hissed, "I will make sure you die a very terrible one," he rose to his feet, balling his fists.

"Me, and Mother’s pain will be avenged, and I will make sure of that."
