Chapter 218: Hallucination..

Archi had sent Nyx a message telling her to meet him in the garden later in the evening.

Nyx went there, and saw him already waiting for her. It was getting dark. The birds were retiring back to their resting places, the sun was slowly hiding itself behind the clouds, while the stars had began to appear, one by one.

"Oh, Archi," she whispered, wrapping her arms around him.

"Mother," he returned the hug, "How did it go?"

She sighed, "Well, it is taking some kind of effect on him, but.. I.. do not see the reason we are doing this. He was.."

Archi rolled his eyes, "Please do not start with those, I already asked you this before, if you love him or not, you clearly said a no, why are you still worrying about this?"

She hung her head, disengaging from the hug, "I know, I was just a little skeptical, you know," her cheeks burned.

"Well, I called you here because of something though," he cleared his throat.

"What?"

"If I ever want to get closer to him, that would be through you. So, I found out that he comes here almost every night, so it would be an opportunity to make him fall again, but this time, without a disguise."

Nyx gawked at how much her son knew in just a small period of time. He really did mean business.

"Without a disguise? What are you talking about?"

"Yes, without a disguise."

"Archi, if he sees me without a disguise, then talks to me, he would definitely want to get at me again, what was the aim of coming here then?"

"Oh no, no, that is not what I mean. He usually stands at the window facing the garden every evening, you will sit there, all dressed beautifully, then he would see you. He will then want to come down to meet you, boom, you are gone. It will give him an impression he is hallucinating."

Nyx rubbed her chin, "That would make him question himself," she nodded.

"Exactly, that is what I mean," he patted her head, "You are learning these things so fast."

She eyed him, swatting at his hand, "I am your mother Archi, not your mate," she hissed.

His heart skipped several beats when she mentioned the word mate.

His head raced back to the day he saw Aria causing his cheeks to flush.

Nyx noticed this, "Wait.. you have found her?" She asked, her eyes widening with a mix of shock, and excitement.

He nervously rubbed his neck, his cheeks turning bright red, "Yes," his voice was now a whisper.

"Oh my goodness! Where is she? Come introduce me," she clapped in excitement.

"It is complicated, Mother, I can not tell her yet."

"Tell her what? She knows you are her mate," she tilted her head to the side.

"Mother, we should probably talk about this later, it is almost time till Oberon comes here."

"Oh, okay, what am I supposed to wear?" She scratched her head.

Archi sighed deeply, "You better not act all disorganized when he comes," he walked back to one of the garden chairs, then picked up a white dress. He walked back to her.

"Here we go," he handed it to her, "Go dress up quickly, then come back here, by that time he should be already facing the window."

"What am I supposed to do when I come back? Smile at him, and wave?" She waved her hands in sarcasm.

Archi chuckled, "No, all you have to do, is to walk as gracefully as possible, sit down, pretend to look at something, or maybe play with the flowers, and then maintain a short eye contact with him."

"Oh, that is easy," she nodded, then shrugged her shoulders.

"Just try watching him with the corner of your eyes to see his reaction, when you notice he has left the window, just leave from here, and go back to the servant’s quarters."

She nodded, "Okay."

"Come on, go get changed before he comes here," he slightly pushed her to leave.

"Okay, okay, I am going," she rolled her eyes, then walked out.

Archi rubbed his hands together, "Let this game officially begin," he chuckled darkly, walking to a corner to watch everything.

Oberon was sitting on his bed facing the ceiling. He just kept missing Nyx every day, and it was hurting him.. literally.

"Why did you leave?" He whispered, asking no one in particular.

"Let me go clear my head before I go berserk," he gulped, then got off his bed.

He put on a robe, then walked to his door, "If only I could just get a glimpse of your face again," he opened the door, entering the hallways till he arrived at one of the windows. He especially loved this window since it was facing the garden, it always gave him some kind of peace he needed at that moment.

He stood there, his arms behind his back, and sighed deeply. This night, he was feeling very empty, and he didn’t know how to drive it away. That Isla lady even made it worse as everything she did reminded him of Nyx.

"I wonder where she is from," he shrugged his shoulders.

Just then, a lady in white dress walked into the garden. Her steps were the most graceful steps he had ever seen a lady walk in, the dress suited her pale skin, and it especially hugged her curves. Her golden hair, cascaded all around her shoulders giving her a magical look.

"Who is that?" He squinted his eyes to get a look of her face, but she was backing him so he couldn’t really get her facial features.

"Wow," his eyes widened, "She feels like her," a smile appeared at the corner of his lips, "If only that was Nyx, no one would be happier," his grey eyes lit up.

The lady went on playing with flowers, and taking in the garden.

"Hmm, that is what Nyx would do," he chuckled.

When he realized himself, he gently tapped his forehead, "What is wrong with me? Is everything reminding me of Nyx now?"

The lady as if she heard his thoughts, turned around to look at him.

He could swear his heart fell out of his chest ten times! That was Nyx!

She gave him the most beautiful smile, her eyes lit up like the moon. She was just perfection, radiating grace.

"Nyx?" He stretched out his hand, but she had backed him again.

His heart was pounding really hard, and fast, and a cold sweat had broken out on his forehead. He could feel every part of him trembling with excitement, at the same time fear.

He quickly left where he was standing, racing to the stairs. He wasn’t abou

t to let her go, not now she was back.
