Oberon had Nyx escorted back to the servant’s quarters later that day where she would stay.

She dragged herself to a small room they had shown her, opener the door, and walked in. There were two extra beds in the room, and she sighed deeply.

"Sharing a room," she grunted.

She walked to one of the beds that wasn’t so occupied, then sat on it.

"Hello?" She called out, "Anyone here?"

"Hello? Who are you?"

She looked over her shoulder to see Yvonne, and her eyes almost popped out of her sockets, Yvonne! She had not seen her in forever.

She swallowed her lump, "Hello, I am Isla," she hung her head.

She had missed them, Yvonne, and Gladys. Her eyes got a little teary, but she immediately wiped it with her thumb.

Just then Gladys entered the room, "Yvonne, come on, it is time for Lady Dora to take her bath, let us go."

Nyx arched her brows, "Lady Dora?"

Gladys’s eyes fell on Nyx, "Oh, we have a new roommate. Hello."

Nyx gulped, and waved back at her, "Hello."

"What is your name?" Gladys came closer.

"N.. Isla."

"Nice to meet you Isla, you are the second room mate we have had in ten years," she chuckled, "I hope you are not like the others."

Yvonne scanned her from head to toe as if she was trying to get something from her.

"Why is your face covered?"

"My choice," she replied firmly.

"Are you still going to cover it here too?" Gladys chipped in.

"Why yes, that is what I want righ?" She shrugged her shoulders.

"Strange," Yvonne held her chin.

Nyx’s heart raced, did Yvonne by chance recognize her?

"We have to go Isla, I am sorry, but we have to go tend to Lady Dora."

"No Gladys, she should go, she is new here after all. It is not a bad thing if she started her work right now."

Gladys stared at Nyx who nodded in agreement, "Okay."

Nyx rose to her feet, "Let us go then."

Gladys nodded, turned on her heels, walking to the door, "We are quite behind time, we should leave soon."

Nyx hurried to catch up with Yvonne, "Why you are quite fast though," Nyx gasped as they left the room.

"Of course not, I am just trying to make it in time before it is noon already, Lady Dora is not quite patient when it comes to her noon baths."

"I see," Nyx nodded. Since when did Dora fancy noon baths?

"Here we are," she announced as soon as they had arrived at Dora’s room.

She pushed the door open, while Nyx followed behind her.

"So, she should be in the bathroom already I guess?" Nyx rolled her eyes.

"Yes, the ointments, fragrances, and oils are on the table, bring them with you."

Nyx saw them on the table, "What a fancy bath," she whispered in surprise.

Gladys quickly brought out her towels, "Hurry up."

"I am coming," Nyx sighed, as she tried to carry all the ointments at once without breaking anyone.

’These are a lot! What?’ Her face went red.

"Come on Isla," Gladys smiled at her, while Nyx followed her into the bathroom.

Dora was still in a bathrobe waiting for them with a frown slightly etched on her face, "You are two minutes late Gladys."

"Sorry my lady," she bowed her head.

Nyx shook her head, then also bowed. Dora noticed her, "I have never seen you here, are you new?"

"Yes my lady, I am Isla."

"Oh that is okay," she shrugged her shoulders.

"My water?"

"Oh," Nyx set to work adding fragrance to the water. She then laid the oils, and ointments in a particular order beside the bathtub.

Dora noticed this, "Wait, how did you know how to do it that way?"

Nyx faced her, "What do you mean my lady?"

"Nyx was the only one who arranged ointments, and oils in that order, how did you know how to do that?"

Nyx bit her lower lip, she had screwed up.

"Uhm, I do not know what you are talking about my lady, my mother used to do this when I was a child, so I learnt it from her."

"Hmm," Dora went towards the bathtub, "Okay, you may leave."

They both bowed, and left.

"Who is this Nyx, everyone is talking about?"

Gladys threw her a sad look, "She is the king’s mate, although she used to be his wife, they are no longer together," she sighed, her eyes drooping.

"What? Really?"

"Yes, I used to work as her personal maid," her eyes lit up with happiness as soon as she said those words, "She was such a kind, and loving heart. Till date, I still wonder why the king would do that to her," she whispered the last part.

"Do what?" She whispered back at her.

"Divorce her," her voice was now almost below a whisper.

"Oh, that is not nice of him," Nyx rolled her eyes, "His loss then."

Gladys nodded, "I quite agree."

Nyx headed towards the door.

"Hey, where are you going? We are supposed to wait for her till she is done."

Nyx hissed, "Of course, I.. it must have slipped my mind."

"That is fine," come stand beside me."

A young lad walked into the room, scanning the area, "Mother?" He called out.

"She is taking her bath," Gladys replied.

Nyx’s eyes fell on the lad.. it was Dora’s son, how he had grown.

’If only everything had gone well,’ She shook her head in disappointment.

His eyes fell on Isla, "Oh, hello madam," he bowed slightly.

Nyx, and Gladys both exchanged puzzled glances, "Why did you just bow to me?" Nyx placed a hand on her chest, feigning shock.

"I just felt like doing so, you very much feel like an important person," he coughed slightly.

"Oh, I will take my leave now. Madam Gladys, please inform my mother I came around," he turned around, and left.

"That is Klaus, Lady Dora’s son. He is going to be the heir to the throne since the king’s own son is not with him."

Nyx hung her head, feeling it thumping so hard, she thought Gladys could hear it.
