The Alpha's long lost heir
Chapter 216: "Stop reminding me of her."

Chapter 216: "Stop reminding me of her."

This time he came back with a less voluminous robe on him, a bowl of water, a small handtowel, and ointments.

Nyx sighed, slightly turning her bruised arm for him to be able to clean it properly.

"Does it burn?" He asked.

"Burn?"

He stooped down to her arm’s level, "Do not worry about it," he shook his head slightly.

He dipped the towel in the bowl, letting it soak before taking it out, "This is the little I can do," he mumbled, dabbing the wound with the towel.

Nyx just watched him with a number expression. How come he could agree to care for a stranger, but not once did he even look at her back then unless he wanted pleasure.

She shook her head sadly, she was the foolish one then, she thought to herself.

"That should be okay," she heard him say, bringing out his ointments.

"Is it not strange that the king has these in his room?"

He shrugged, "Well.. my mate was the reason I started keeping them around. She used to emphasize on its importance, but I never really listened to her back then."

She arched her brows, so she influenced him a little?

"Where is she?" She cleared her throat.

Oberon’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment. It would be a very embarrassing thing for him to say he didn’t know where his mate was, but what could he do?

"She.. left."

"Left? She left you? Why? Were you not being a good mate to her?" She bombarded him with questions, her eyes darkening.

He raised his head to look at her fierce eyes, for a moment he felt as if Nyx was right before him questioning him for his wrongs.

He sighed, "No, I was not a good mate at all, I was horrible, just terrible, I did wanted to make it up to her, but.. she just left."

Nyx scoffed, "Oh, why did you not reject her so she could at least find some one else? What was the need of keeping her in such a.."

Oberon was staring at her with a very interested look in his eyes, "Why are you asking me all these questions? Do you know who she is?"

Her heart skipped a beat, "N.. no?"

"Then why ask me all these questions? It is disturbing," he went back to what he was doing.

’I will make sure it becomes really disturbing for you.’

"Ah let me go get another towel," he got to his feet, "Hold on," he walked towards the bathroom to go get another towel.

A few minutes later, he came back but didn’t see Nyx on the couch. She was close to the window doing silly dances.

He chuckled forgetting for a while she wasn’t Nyx.

"Stop dancing Nyx, that is enough," he blurted out, then it hit him that this person wasn’t Nyx, but someone else.

"Hey, hello? Stop dancing," he cleared his throat, but that didn’t stop her from dancing.

He walked to her side, gripped her arm lightly, and spun her around.

"Hey."

Nyx giggled, "There was a cub dancing outside, it looked so cute."

Oberon looked over her head to see the window, and caught sight of the cub dancing. His heart warmed at the sight. Archi would also dance for no reason. It made his heart bleed remembering his son wasn’t with him anymore.

"Come on, we have your wound to attend to uh.."

"Ny.. Isla," she completed.

"Oh, Isla. Nice."

He led her back to the couch, "Now sir, and don not move."

She rolled her eyes, "I am not a child, of course I know that," she wiggled her legs.

"Says the lady who was shaking her body like that of a cub."

Her lips turned downwards, "Whatever she muttered."

He dabbed the wound dry with the drier towel, then proceeded to apply the ointments.

Slow torture is better than death, Athena’s words rang in her head again.

She wanted payback, while she was at it, there was no harm in pleasuring herself too.

"You are very handsome your highness," a sly smile played on her lips.

He shrugged, "I am growing old, I doubt you should still find me attractive," he chuckled in amusement.

"You should not be that old, huh?"

"I am almost three hundred years old," he smiled, "How old are you?"

"Thirty nine."

"Thirty nine?" He creased his brows, "You are thirty nine?" He raised his head to meet her eyes.

"Yes."

His heart raced, "Wow, Nyx.. she was.."

"Nyx?"

"My mate."

"Oh."

"You both are in the same age group. Wow," he smiled bitterly.

"We were not talking about your mate though, why are you always bringing her up?"

"I miss her, and I want her to come back to me," he pursed his lips, "That is if she has even forgiven me."

Right, she hadn’t.

"Damn," she whispered.

Oberon was done applying the ointments, "Here we go, and let me go get a bandage," he exhaled, standing up to get a bandage.

"Your highness.."

"Hm?" He stopped, "What is it?"

She grinned, "Oh nothing at all," her sly smile reaching her eyes, and hell it was just too attractive.

"Focus!" He hit his forehead, then went to his small medical kit to get a bandage.

He turned around to see Nyx already standing behind him, "Hm? Why did you get up?"

"I thought I would scare you, turns out I did not," she turned on her heels, and walked away.

"Are you perhaps relating to Nyx in any way?" He asked after her.

She exhaled deeply, "I already said I did not know her," she sat down.

"Then stop acting like her," he frowned, "You are reminding me of her, and it is not as if you would make her come back to me, so stop."

"I did not even do anything," she scoffed.

Oberon was already getting irritated by the Isla lady, now who did she think she was?

"Isla," the name rolled off his tongue, making her shiver, "Please be still till I am done with you," he walked over to her.

She smiled, it was finally working.
