Archi rushed to her side holding her bleeding arm, "Mother."

Oberon stopped short, the sword falling from his hands, "What did I do?" He hissed, taking Nyx’s hand.

Archi saw this, and yanked his mother’s hands away, "Look at what you have done!"

For some reason, he felt guilt wash over him like a river.

"That was not intended," he groaned.

He looked over at the guards who were paying attention to a very interesting sight.

"You all should leave from here," he ordered, already frustrated enough.

"This will get healed soon, do not worry," he kept whispering in her ears, trying to stop her arm from bleeding so fast.

All of the guards left there, but not without eyeing Archi maliciously.

"I am so sorry," he said to Nyx, "I can swear this was not intended," he tore a piece of his robe, and quickly wrapped it around her.

Nyx felt his cold arm brush against her skin, setting her whole body ablaze. She shut her eyes trying to stop the fluttering feeling at the bottom of her stomach.

’I came here for revenge, I came here for revenge.’

"I am so.."

"That was aimed at my son, was it not?" A thick feminine voice asked.

Oberon felt his heart stop beating for a second. The voice for a particular reason sent chills down his spine. He shook his head trying to shake the feeling off.

"How can someone sound so strange, yet so familiar at the same time?" His heart raced.

"Well.. it was but.."

Archi had already noticed the effect Nyx was having on him. The feelings did not die at all, he thought.

"I am sorry madam, you will be given proper medical attention immediately, let me just.."

"I only wanted to introduce my mother at last to you, but it seems you must hate mothers a lot, do you not have one? Is this how this pack runs?"

Oberon clenched his jaw, "Listen, it was a honest mistake, that strike of the sword was not supposed to hit her."

"Take me out of here son, I do not think we can flourish under a tyrant who just gets angry over every little thing, and then attempts to kill his subjects."

Those words hit him like lead, angry over every little thing? Attempting to kill his subjects? Tyrant?

"You are right mother, we should probably leave from here. This pack was not a suitable option after all," they began to walk out of the throne room.

Oberon somewhat panicked, "No wait!"

They stopped in their tracks, "Why should we wait? It is already obvious you do not want us here anymore."

Oberon squinted his eyes. Why did this Logan guy give him so much stress already? And then.. his mother?

"Please, Logan.. let me give your mother the attention she needs."

Nyx’s heart failed her. That was what she needed all those years back, attention.

"No, your highness. We should probably leave."

Oberon was already getting worked up. Something in him didn’t want them to just leave, it was like trying to win his wife, and son back.

"Okay, I will do it myself."

Archi paused on hearing those words, and a smirk played at the corner of his lips. This is exactly what he wanted, this is how it would start.

He slowly turned around, "You want to do this your highness?" He tried to stifle his mocking laughter.

Oberon didn’t even believe he actually said that, what was he even thinking?

"Yes.. sure, I will do it myself. Just take her to the.. uh.."

"Your bedroom?’

Nyx secretly pinched him hard, but he didn’t seem to have a problem with that, "Hm, okay.."

Nyx gasped loudly, her heart dropping to her stomach.

"She is all yours, your highness," he bowed slightly, a mocking smile on his lips.

Archi drew Nyx closer, "Listen, my name is Logan, do not make the mistake of blurting out my real name. Logan, You are Isla, okay?"

She nodded slightly, and he did a final now, then walked away, leaving both of them alone.

Oberon didn’t know why, but he couldn’t help the way his heart was pounding so loudly, he was sure she could hear his heartbeat. There was just something about this lady that was drawing him in, but he still didn’t know why.

’Nyx owns my heart, no one else.’

Yet, he still couldn’t shake off that feeling that Nyx was close by. What exactly was wrong with him today?

The piece of his robe he had used to tie her wound, fell off, leaving blood to start seeping again.

That finally jolted him out of his reverie, "Oh, right, your wound.’

He closed the distance between them with large strides till he was standing close enough to take in her features. Her eyes once again struck his heart, they looked very familiar.

They had that sharp, beautiful, innocent gaze Nyx used to have. His heart fluttered with the thought of her probably being Nyx.

"Of course that is not possible," he said aloud.

"I might literally drain out of my blood," she coughed slightly.

Oberon shook his head, "That is not going to happen," he stretched out his hand so she could take it.

Her heart skipped several beats. She could have sworn that thousands of shivers were all rushing through every part of her. She hesitated, before sliding her hands into his large, cold hands.

Her heart went cold, as soon as he wrapped his hands around hers. She just didn’t know what to feel anymore.

"I am sorry," his voice cut through her thoughts, "I am genuinely sorry."

She only nodded, trying not to say anything.

He led her out of the throne room, down the hallway till they got to his bedroom.

"Let us get you comfortable," he shook her slightly when he noticed she had zoned out.

She nodded, "Okay."

He led her to the couch at the other side of the room, "Sit down, let me go get the ointments."

She swallowed the lump in her throat. This was supposed to be easy, there was no way she would let

unnecessary feelings cloud her thoughts again.
