The Alpha's Blind Fate
Chapter 361: Once I Declare It, So Shall It Be

Chapter 361: Once I Declare It, So Shall It Be

ZINA

"My lay," the steward said slowly, grace expression obviously expecting the worst. "Unhand that mirror this instance."

Only if they knew that Zina was far gone in this personal hell that she created for herself. It was her own little way of lashing out. No, it was her way of reading them and understanding the true motives of her captors.

So Zina dug the shard of broken mirror deeper into her neck until blood flowed. Even Seraph who had been watching the whole spectacle with a smile was not smiling anymore.

Her expression was now a horrified one and her confused eyes seemed to be asking when it got to this point. She was no longer sure whether it was a joke or not.

"Unhand it?" Zina repeated with a mocking voice, "the only thing I shall unhand today will be this useless life of mine," she continued in a somber voice.

"First, you take me away from my husband a day after my wedding, causing me great emotional despair," she said in a fake sad voice, "and now, I am stuck in a manor averse to good sense and manners!" She wailed, digging the glass deeper while her blood poured more and more.

"Fine. Since nothing will go my way, I shall take my life!"

"My lady!" They all screamed including Seraph.

"You will do no such thing." The cold voice of the Red Wolf interrupted. "Maybe to yourself but certainly not to your child."

Zina didn’t have the decency to look surprised that he knew. Ever since she woke up that morning, she had been turning that thought over and over in her head and she had gone through all the possible reactions she would prefer to him should it get to that point.

She didn’t remove the sharp weapon from her neck. If anything, she held it steady.

This man prided himself in some very annoying confidence that he moulded her, and as such knew her. He thought she was incapable of ruining her unborn child.

Alas, he thought wrong. Maybe when they had connived to create her, they didn’t take into account that she would wake up one day, fed up with everything, and then decide run run mad.

Just like she was now. She was mad.

"Threatening me with my child. You must think I’m my mother." Zina said, feeling the trickle of blood run down to the middle of her breast.

"Excuse us everyone." He said coolly, observing her with a predatory smile.

They all emptied out, Seraph hesitantly at first.

"Of course you’re nothing like your mother," he said the moment it was just the both of them, "you’re far stronger, not as weak as she is. You’re far more beautiful, and certainly far more charming."

He was baiting her. Which was too bad because if there was anything that Zina had tried to learn from Daemon, then that would be his rabid control.

"Where is she?" She asked slowly, numb to the self inflicted pain on her neck.

"Unhandled the weapon first, Zina." He said still wearing his very annoying smile.

Zina approached him slowly, and in the most deadly voice she could muster, she spoke the same way she will if she was telling a dreaded prophecy. "Do you know what else I am before becoming this weapon you and your Master speak that I am?"

He seemed amused. "No. Enlighten me, please."

"A seer, Red Wolf. I see people’s past, present, and how they shape their future. In one way you could also say that I see people’s doom as well."

He still held the smile, "Is that so, seer?"

"Do you believe in fortune telling?"

"No I don’t." He answered without hesitance.

"Shall I tell you then what is a seers greatest weapon?"

"We running round and round the same topic, Zina. You just said the answer; your ability to see the past, present and then the future."

"Wrong," Zina whispered, "that is not the answer. My greatest weapon is that I only need to say a word and it becomes a vision. Whether I see it or not, whether I hear it or not, whether the spirits whisper it to me or not. So long as I say that my words are your fortune, then it has no other choice but to be your fortune."

The smile left him, leaving behind a slight frown. Zina knew well that off all the regions, the Western Region was the most superstitious. It was because of that superstition that the highest packs obeyed the Seven Witch Elders who were also acclaimed to be seers.

She was sure it also because of their avid believe in superstition that led that to the execution of the Screamers Pack.

And she intended to press on that superstition. It might not do much for her, but she was going to rely on her popularity as the Great Seer.

After all, of all the things that her captors believed that she would turn out to be, becoming a seer hadn’t been a part of them.

"What do you mean to say, Zina? I’m quite intrigued."

"What I’m trying to say is that should I declare that on the next full moon, a hand will reach out and rip out your heart then that that is what will happen on the next full moon. Should I say that you will sleep tomorrow and not wake, then come tomorrow your master will have to carry out your corpse. So just take me to my mother and I will reconsider cursing you."

The Red Wolf seemed to observe her for some time, as if trying to break through her facade if any. Finally, he said,

"First of all, my master has no legs so he wouldn’t be able to carry out my corpse. Secondly, let’s eat first. I’m afraid the sight of your mother is not one that you can process with an empty belly."

Zina clenched her free fist, but finally, she dropped the mirror shard. If she had to eat a meal with the devil just so she could see her mother, then so be it.

She wa already at their mercy, better to go with the flow than fight it.
