The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid
Chapter 49: The Prince and the Nameless Man

Chapter 49: The Prince and the Nameless Man

If I remembered correctly, I was sent to the forest up on the mountain to search for a rare flower. In the end, I didn’t end up finding it and I was chased by a pack of wolves when it got dark. Then, just when I thought that I would end up dead as a meal for the wolves for sure, the nameless man saved me.

Then somehow, I woke up here.

My eyes lowered to the navy blanket that covered my body from the waist down before moving upwards to the light pink satin and lacey night gown that I had on. If I wasn’t wrong, I was wearing my maid uniform...

I looked up again to see the man staring at me with intent interest as if he was observing my every little reaction and I started to blush. This was the first time seeing his entire face clearly and I guess I could say that it took my breath away. My brain still found it hard to reconcile the truth with my dreams.

Was it even possible to reconcile the two or piece them together?

Suddenly, I felt very shy and even more conscious of the fact that he was so close and that he was still staring at me. The night gown felt like it was exposing too much of my skin especially around my chest. Quickly, I pulled up the blanket to cover my chest before looking away in embarrassment.

“Don’t worry, I wasn’t the one who undressed and helped you change. I got a maid to do that,” he explained before he chuckled in clear amusement at my reaction.

“Oh...” I mumbled softly as I felt my face burn hotter.

It wasn’t like I had never been together alone with him before so why was I feeling so nervous?

Then again, it wasn’t like I was alone with him in his bedroom, and neither was I lying on his bed.

“I’ll call for a doctor,” the man said before he flashed me a gentle smile that I found reassuring.

He began standing up from the chair that was next to the bed. Suddenly, I didn’t want him to leave and before I could stop myself, I moved to stop him.

“No, wait!” I cried out much louder than I had intended as I reached out and pulled on his arm.

He whirled back to face me as I sat up on the bed with my hand still holding onto his arm. His overly handsome face ended up right in front of mine. His face was so close that I could see the fine and long strands of his blond eyelashes as it framed his bright blue eyes. My heart skipped a dangerous beat before it started dancing wildly in my chest.

The blond man that always wore sunglasses with his attractive charming smile that never failed to make my heart skip a beat...

The first prince of this kingdom with piercing blue eyes who always had a mask on...

Slowly, I reached my hand out towards his face as we continued to stare deeply in each other’s eyes. I could feel my breath catch in my throat as my heart began beating harder and faster in my chest. Opening the palm of my hand right in front of his face, I tried to cover his face as if my hand was a mask. The intense blue gaze that stared back at me immediately looked familiar.

It really is him. I should have known...

“I see. You’re really him...” I said blankly because I had no idea how to react or feel at this new discovery.

Maybe it was more rightful to say that ‘he’s really you’. I wasn’t sure who was who anymore.

The nameless man and Prince Leonard had always been one and the same person all this time.

“You’re Prince Leonard, aren’t you?” I asked to confirm my theory.

“And so, what if I am?” he asked curtly.

His voice was cold and if I had to put a name to the tone of his voice, I would say that he seemed on the verge of being angry with me.

Was I not supposed to discover who he is? Is that why he’s never given me his name all this time.

“Excuse me, Prince Leonard. I didn’t realize it was you...” I apologized in a shaky voice.

My body froze as my eyes darted to random places when I realized that I had been sleeping on the prince’s bed just a while ago. In fact, I was still sitting on his bed. Panicked and confused about what I should do or how I should behave, I quickly threw my legs over the bed before jumping out of his bed.

I need to leave this place. No matter how you look at it, a maid should never in the prince’s bed. I have really overstepped my boundaries this time around and I had no idea what kind of trouble I had gotten myself into. Quickly, I headed towards the door to make my exit and escape.

“Where do you think you’re going?” the prince asked as he cocked his head to the side in wonder.

He grinned at me down at me; however, I couldn’t quite meet his eyes with mine. My gaze traveled downwards to rest on his chest and his much larger frame that was blocking the exit. He moved so fast to stop me from leaving.

“Umm...back to my room?” I replied in a small voice.

Good question. I wasn’t sure where I needed to be, but I knew that I shouldn’t be sleeping in the prince’s bed.

“Dressed like that?” he asked as his blue gaze slowly drifted down the length of my body.

My gaze dropped to the very thin and sheer light pink night gown that I had on. The dress covered barely half of my thighs and with the light shining on it, the sheer fabric became very translucent. Why did the dress have to be so short and so revealing?

“No...please don’t look...” I murmured as I felt another wave of heat flooding into my face.
