The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid
Chapter 422: Preparing Our Angel

Chapter 422: Preparing Our Angel

I should have known that the prince would never want to become the next king for his own personal gain. I found myself nodding my head naturally in agreement with his plan when I realized that I also had to play my part in contributing to the happiness of our son in the future.

“I agree that that seems to be the easiest way. I guess if you become king, you can change the rules in whatever way you want,” I said while seeing more than a glimpse of hope.

“It’s not going to be that easy. Many people on the committee are going to be against it, but this is our best shot. No matter what, we’re going to make this successful and change the rules of this country for the better,” the prince said, so motivatingly that I found myself feeling slightly excited.

“I guess bringing change, especially big changes, isn’t going to be easy,” I said, but by then I couldn’t stop myself from smiling. In my mind, I had already envisioned such a bright future, and it gave me the greatest honor to be able to contribute towards that future.

“Well, first things first. We have to have our wedding,” the prince said, and for the first time in a while, I saw him smile so excitedly.

...

Our wedding day wasn’t just referred to as the most perfect wedding ever hosted in the kingdom but also the most extravagant coronation. When I first agreed to formally marry Prince Leonard and become the next queen of the kingdom, I never anticipated having two very important events happening in my life on the same day. The prince told me that it wasn’t customary for the coronation ceremony to happen on the same day as the wedding, but since the king was in such a rush, he thought that hitting two birds with one stone wasn’t such a bad idea.

After making our promise to safeguard the future of our son and also the kingdom together, it only took around one month for the day of our wedding to finally arrive. One of the primary reasons why I was excited for the wedding was the fact that our son would also be there to celebrate with us. In fact, it was arranged that Logan would accompany me when I walked down the aisle. Although I thought that it was an amazing idea and also a gesture filled with love, the idea was also accompanied by some worries.

“You have to remain calm and not get too excited, okay?” I instructed Logan sweetly when we were discussing the plan of what he was supposed to do during his parents’ wedding ceremony. I wasn’t sure how much Logan fully understood, but he did nod his head and smile sweetly up at me.

“I think you’re just putting pressure on him. Just let him enjoy himself,” Prince Leonard chimed in casually.

I turned and glared at him before turning to smile at Logan. “You can’t let anyone see you in your wolf form on the day,” I reminded him with a tight smile.

“My teeth?” Logan said before smiling widely at me to display his large fangs that were a result of his partial transformation. Apparently, it was something that he was extremely proud of.

“Not even your teeth,” I said with a disapproving shake of my head.

My efforts to remind Logan that he should try his best to suppress his transformation whenever we were out in public only earned me a loud laugh from Prince Leonard.

“You can’t go to school and you can’t play with the other kids if you don’t try your best to control your transformation,” I reminded Logan sternly. The smile that he had on his face immediately drooped, and he turned to his father to plead silently with his eyes for help.

“Homeschool is still a great option,” the prince told our son playfully.

Logan scrunched his face into a look of dissatisfaction. If there was anything that Logan cared about, it was making friends. As a child, I could understand why it was difficult for Logan to fully comprehend that he was different from other children. Since he still did not have his transformation completely under control, most of his friends were children of the noble families and some staff in the palace who were very well aware of his unusual abilities. Going out in public for extended periods of time or interacting with anyone who was unaware of his condition was out of the question.

“Darius!” Logan suddenly called out as his eyes widened with clear excitement. I turned towards the door to see Prince Darius leaning against the door frame with a smile on his face.

“Are you acting naughty and disturbing your parents?” Darius asked Logan playfully. Darius’s appearance seemed to rescue Logan out of his tight position, and the boy ran willingly towards him. I watched as Logan wrapped his arms around Darius’s legs.

“Shall we head off for a bit so that your parents can plan their wedding?” Prince Darius suggested with a smile. Logan nodded eagerly before offering the prince his hand. I mouthed a silent word of thanks when Prince Darius turned our way.

In the end, it was decided that Logan would walk with me down the aisle but that his other appearances at the wedding and the coronation would be limited to the bare necessities. Prince Leonard and I got married on a perfectly sunny day in the central royal church located on the grounds of the royal palace. I was thankful for the fact that I was a very easy-going person because I had absolutely no say about anything related to the wedding. I told myself that perhaps it was better this way because I was not knowledgeable enough about how to host a royal wedding. Everything from the decorations, the flow of the event, down to the guest list was entirely prepared by the committee.

“You don’t have to do anything that you don’t want to do. Also, you should feel like you have the liberty to choose what you want for your own wedding,” the prince told me when I showed him the mock-up pictures of our wedding decorations and flower arrangements.
