The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid -
Chapter 365: It was Me
Chapter 365: It was Me
“What else?” the prince asked.
What else?
“This is going to sound so strange, and I’m not sure how I’m supposed to tell you this. At first, it didn’t feel like something abnormal. It just felt like a random dream but then that one dream started to become a series of dreams until I dreamt of him every single night. Sometimes I feel like I can sense him every time that I close my eyes,” I continued confessing to the prince.
Suddenly, the Prince looked extremely interested in what I was telling him. There were still so many details that I remember so vividly from those dreams. However, I couldn’t bring myself to tell him in words.
“When you said that it felt like he was your lover. What do you mean by that?” the prince continued asking for more details.
I wonder just how much he wanted to know and for what purpose. I honestly couldn’t see the use of telling him the details of my dreams.
“In my dreams, he would say such loving words to me and he would kiss and touch me...” I said before trailing off because it felt like I couldn’t say anymore.
“Did you see what he looks like?” the prince asked.
Now that he asked about it, I realized that I’d never really seen the man in my dreams. I didn’t know his identity or what he looked like. And I’d been a long while now since the last time that I dreamed about him and I had almost forgotten him completely. If the prince hadn’t brought him up, then I was sure that he would have naturally faded from my memories through the passage of time.
“No, I never saw what he looked like. I could only hear his voice and sometimes I could smell his scent...” I replied honestly.
“I see. When did you start having those dreams?” the prince asked as his captivating blue eyes held my gaze.
“I’m not exactly sure but it was probably some time before we met at the auction...” I replied.
Now that I think of it, there might be some significance tied to the timing that I had those dreams and the auction where I met the prince. However, it was still very hard for me to believe in something so illogical. Prince Leonard seemed to be thinking about something in silence, and all I could do was wait for him to say something.
“What if I told you that I had similar dreams?” the prince asked.
“You had similar dreams? You had similar dreams at around the same time that I had those dreams?” I asked to make sure that I understood him correctly.
“That’s right. Of course, our dreams are probably not identical. You mentioned that you dreamt of a man while in my dreams, I dreamt of a woman,” he replied.
He dreamt of a woman? Who exactly did he dream of?
“What was she like?” I asked softly.
I never thought I would pay any attention to dreams or that I would find myself feeling so curious about learning about the prince’s dream and what he saw and who he saw. However, at that moment I was so interested in hearing about his dream because I wondered if by some rare chance that our dreams could possibly be connected. Prince Leonard would probably think that I had already lost my mind if I were to voice my speculation out loud.
“We would talk and she would always stare at me with wide sparkling eyes. At first I also thought that it was a random dream, and that I would end up seeing her only once. However, just what happened to your dreams, that one dream turned into a series of dreams,” he said before grinning at me.
“Do you know who she is? I mean, the woman that you dreamt of...” I asked him as I cocked my head slightly to the side in wonder.
“At first I didn’t know. But when I saw her in real life, I immediately knew that it was her,” he replied in a short
“You met her?” I asked in pure disbelief.
“Yes, I met her and I made sure to keep her by my side,” he replied.
The way the prince began staring at me intensely made me feel suddenly nervous. I wonder who this woman was and how he managed to keep her by his side. If she was someone who was by his side all the time, wouldn’t I have met her already? Was it possible that I had met her already but I just didn’t realize that it was her?
“Are you curious to find out who she is?” the prince asked with a teasing smile.
“Have I met her before? She has to be somewhere in this palace, right?” I asked with intense interest.
“You’re right, she’s in the palace and you’ve also met her before,” the prince replied.
“I’ve met her before? But I don’t really recall...” I murmured as I skimmed through my memories with the aim to find the identity of someone who fitted the prince’s description.
“Why don’t you take a wild guess?” the prince suggested.
“I would love to, but to be honest, I don’t even have any idea. Can you just tell me who she is now?” I demand it to know.
The prince looked at me with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes before he let out a soft laugh, and shook his head from side to side. I had no idea what he found so entertaining regarding my confusion. Given the limited clues, I found it very difficult to identify the woman who he saw in his dreams.
“Stop teasing me already. Please tell me who she is before I die of curiosity,” I pleaded before I pouted visibility.
It felt quite amazing how my mood had shifted from the dark and sorrowful episode to a more relaxed one. I wondered if the prince had steered the conversation in this direction in order to make me feel better. At the same time, I was very curious to find out more about his dreams and the women that he talked about.
“It’s you, Mila,” the prince replied as he stared directly into my eyes.
“Me?” I asked with pure disbelief.
I couldn’t believe what I had just heard. My eyes felt like they were bulging out of their socket as my mouth hung open at the unexpected reveal.
