“What is it?” Florian asked without looking at her.

“What about my prince help console a lonely woman for tonight? I’m sure that it would be a rewarding experience for you both since my prince is really so kind...” she suggested before smiling at him.

“What are you talking about?” he asked as her words seemed to have piqued his slight interest.

He turned to look at Patricia’s smiling face as his eyes narrowed. Although he wasn’t yet sure who Patricia was referring to, he had a pretty good idea of who that woman in question might be. Not having the sense of a wolf, he wondered how his long-time lover could pick up that information.

“Umm...I heard that Madame Sand paid Lady Regina a visit so I thought that she may be feeling extra lonely tonight since your brother is...you know...” she said before strategically trailing off before showing the prince an innocent smile.

As a proud member of the Sacred Chambers, Patricia was there along with everyone else when the selection results were announced. “Thanks for letting me know,” Florian thanked her with a kind smile.

She followed the prince as he made his way out of the room, all the while making sure that there was a charming smile on her lips. Once the door closed in front of her face and the prince was gone, her smile completely evaporated. Her face drew into a scowl when she turned to face the maid that was still left in the room.

“The prince is gone, you should be gone too,” she said simply as she ran her hair impatiently through her hair.

“Why did you do something like that?” Claudia snapped.

“Do something...like what exactly?” Patricia asked in return.

Her eyes narrowed in clear annoyance, and she did not at all appreciate the tone that the maid had used to speak to her. Although Claudia had entertained the prince on multiple occasions, she was getting bored of how the maid had let all of that get to her head. She sighed when she thought that this was one sure sign that this woman would not last long in Prince Florian’s ecosystem of lovers.

“Why would you suggest the prince to spend the night with someone else?” she asked with a look of disbelief on her face.

“Why shouldn’t I?” Patricia asked coldly in return.

“Huh? Are you playing dumb or something? If you hadn’t sent the prince away, he would have spent the night with you,” Claudia demanded to know.

“It’s not me that the prince wants to be with tonight. His mind is...somewhere else...” she explained simply.

“What? That doesn’t make any sense at all...” Claudia exclaimed.

“I never put myself and my personal desires and objectives before those of the prince’s and it would do you well if you did the same,” Patricia said without much emotion.

“Thanks for the lecture, My Lady, but I like to do things my own way,” Claudia replied sarcastically.

“You should leave. I won’t be surprised if I don’t see you again,” Patricia said as she gestured with her hand toward the door.

Claudia glared at Patricia before stomping out of the room. The sound of the door closing loudly behind her did not make Patricia turn around. She simply closed her eyes and let out a sigh.

“This night is going to be a long one...” she mumbled to herself.
