The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid -
Chapter 234: Ready for Him
Chapter 234: Ready for Him
When Asana lifted her head again, her face was once again brave, and her smile was radiantly bright.
“If you can get the prince’s permission to serve him exclusively, then you may retire in the way that you want. However, you do understand that you can’t leave this place until your contract is over, right?” Madame Sand asked with a worried look on her face.
“Of course, I’m aware of that. Thank you, Madame Sand,” Asana replied before turning and heading for the door.
A slight throbbing pain pressured the sides of Madame Sand’s skull and she had to raise her hand to rub them as she closed her eyes. Her job was a busy one and there were always so many people, parties, and political agendas involved. Just as that thought ran through her mind, her mobile phone began vibrating against her thigh where she had placed it in the pocket of the skirt of her uniform. One glance at the same on the screen told her that another storm was coming her way.
“How may I be of assistance to you, Prime Minister?” she inquired in a flawlessly polite tone the moment that she connected the call.
In truth, she was just asking for formalities sake because she already knew why someone like the Prime Minster would be giving her a call on the night of the full moon. Unfortunately for the old man, there is not much that she can and is willing to do to help him out.
“Madame Sand...” the stern yet pleasant voice of the prime minster spoke through the phone.
...
“I think everything is fine now. Seriously, there’s no need for more...” I began protesting and raising my hand for the makeup artist to stop applying more makeup to my face.
“Are you sure? I think if we add a little more glitter here...” she said with a doubtful look on her face.
“I’m sure. This is enough, please...” I said while trying to sound polite yet firm enough to stand my ground at the same time.
The sound of someone knocking on the door caught my attention and gave me the excuse that I needed to stand up. I probably acted more excited than I really was when I approached the door to answer it myself when there really was no need for me to do so. Whoever was at the door had just saved me from the makeup artist and that made me feel so grateful toward my visitor.
“Oh, Salena. You’ve back already...” I murmured in surprise when I found Salena standing in front of my door.
For some reason, Salena seemed panicked and slightly out of breath. Her face was flushed, and I couldn’t help but wonder if she wasn’t feeling well. Regardless, I quickly welcomed her into the room before showing her a friendly smile.
“That didn’t take too long...” I commented.
“Oh...umm...I didn’t have to do much. The other maids were a lot more experienced, so they took care of pretty much everything...” she replied while looking slightly confused.
“Are you, ok? If you’re tired or not feeling well, you can just take a rest,” I told her reassuringly.
“I’m fine. Really. I’m ok...” she replied as her eyes darted around.
Something must have bothered her because she seemed so on edge to the point that it looked like she was scared of something or someone. I wished I had more time to talk things out with her or to at least find out what was bothering her; however, I didn’t have much time left on my hands.
“Lady Mila, it is time for you to travel to Prince Leonard’s palace,” the senior maid said sternly.
“He isn’t coming here?” I asked with a raised eyebrow.
Since lately Prince Leonard was the one who always came over to spend time with me here, I just assumed that the same would happen.
“You will be spending the night at the prince’s palace or until he is ready to send you back,” the senior maid replied simply.
The look that she gave me told me well enough how much she disapproved of me focusing on anything apart from my night with the prince and its associated preparation. I gave Salena a regretful look before I turned to nod at the senior maid. She quickly led the way out of the room, and I had no choice but to quickly follow her out.
“Don’t worry. I’ll talk to her,” Jessie whispered to me as I walked past her.
“Thank you...” I thanked her.
It was thanks to her words that I was able to leave my room without with little worry. I didn’t realize just how excited I was until I was in the car and on the way to Prince Leonard’s palace. My hands wouldn’t stop sweating as my heartbeat loud and fast in my chest. The ride was too short for me to mentally prepare myself to meet the prince. However, by the time that I stepped foot out of the car in front of his palace, my body seemed more than ready to embrace him.
“Welcome Lady Mila. The prince is awaiting your arrival...” the prince’s butler greeted me with a formal bow.
“Yes...” I managed to reply in a shaky voice.
“Are you feeling unwell?” the butler asked as his brows knitted into a frown of concern.
“I’m fine. Thanks,” I replied a little too curtly than I had intended.
He gave me an unconvinced look but then he turned on his heels and led the way into Prince Leonard’s palace. The truth was I wasn’t at all fine; however, I had somewhat gotten used to the reactions that my body had whenever I thought about the prince. Knowing that every second was bringing me closer to him and that I would be seeing him soon made my body react all on its own just like any other natural reaction. I interlaced my fingers together as I pressed my thighs together to keep the tight swelling sensation in the pit of my stomach at bay.
