It won’t be too much longer before I get to see the prince. I just had to hang on until then...

The effects of the temporary cure to my condition that the prince had helped me figure out were clearly fading. Because he referred to it as a temporary remedy, I knew that its effects would wear off eventually as time passed by; however, I didn’t think that it would be this soon. My heart clenched in my chest as my lower abdomen clenched from my own ache of desire for the prince.

Was Prince Leonard’s palace always this big and was his bedroom always this far away from the entrance?

The walk felt too excruciatingly painful, and the hallway seemed to stretch on forever. Each turn seemed to suck up so much of my energy. I placed my hand over my chest and felt the wild beating of my heart while feeling thankful that I at least had a knee-length coat on top of the revealing dress that I had on. Even though it wasn’t thick it served its purpose of hiding away my form very well. After a short while of walking, a strange feeling took over me and soon I figured out what was bothering me.

“Excuse me...” I said to get the butler’s attention.

“What is it, Lady Mila?” the butler turned to address me.

“This...isn’t the way to the prince’s bedroom...” I stated with certainty.

“It isn’t,” he replied before he smiled at me calmly.

“But I thought...” I said before I stopped myself.

I had always assumed that I would be meeting Prince Leonard in his bedroom and that we would spend the night together there. It didn’t occur to me that the prince might have other things in mind. I felt heat rise to my cheeks and I looked down at my feet as waves of shame and embarrassment washed over me. I didn’t even want to wonder what the butler thought of me and my eagerness to mate with the prince must have been as plain as day.

“Prince Leonard is waiting for you in his study, and it is my job to escort you there. Please follow me,” he replied smoothly.

I nodded my head without meeting his eyes. At that moment, I made the wise decision to keep my mouth shut and just follow the man until I arrived at the prince’s study.

“Prince Leonard, Lady Mila is here,” the butler announced after knocking three times on the door of the prince’s study.

“Thank you. Mila, please come in,” Prince Leonard’s voice replied from beyond the door.

With a slight bow my way, the butler opened the door to the prince’s study and gestured with his other hand for me to enter. I didn’t hesitate to enter the room and did not look behind me when I heard the door close. The room was brightly lit, and Prince Leonard sat behind a very large table as if he had been busy working until a moment ago. I wasn’t sure what kind of work the prince exactly did or had to do and that thought piqued my interest. This was probably also my first time spending time with him in another room in his palace other than his bedroom.

“Mila, it’s great that you could join me,” Prince Leonard said to welcome me warmly.

“Thank you...for choosing me,” I thanked him in a small voice.

“I keep my promises,” he said before waving me over to him.

It wasn’t the first time meeting the prince and I knew well enough what the main purpose of our meeting on the night of the full moon entailed. Those facts didn’t stop me from suddenly feeling oddly nervous in his presence as my body stiffened and my feet and legs refused to move to take me forward closer to the prince.

“There’s no need to be so stiff. This may be your first official visit here, but you can treat it just like any other visit and just act like you normally do,” Prince Leonard told me before smiling a little my way.

His blue eyes seemed to sparkle much brighter than normal and the few loosened buttons of his white shirt worked to expose just enough of his muscular chest to draw my attention. The way the sleeves of his shirt were rolled up half-way up his forearm gave me a hint of his well-toned arms and the strength in them when he held me.

“Come here, Mila...” Prince Leonard urged.

In a matter of seconds, the prince had gotten up from his seat and was standing right in front of me. I looked up right into his face and found myself captivated by his intense blue gaze before his hands settled on my upper arms. Although his hands were not directly on my skin, I could feel his warmth seeping into me through my clothes and that made me want to moan. My chest tightened and my breath immediately quickened at his close proximity.

Slowly and seductively, his hands slowly slid down from my shoulders along the lengths of my arms until his hands held mine. All the while, I was lost in the depth of his bright blue eyes and couldn’t look away. I heard myself letting out a very soft moan like a pleasurable purr of a cat when he interlaced his fingers with mine and held my hands tightly in his.

“Come and join me here. I can’t keep my guest standing forever,” he said teasingly.

I was speechless as his arms moved to circle my waist. He stood behind me and with his arms circled around my waist, he urged me forward toward the table where he had been. The heat of his embrace both worked to satisfy my need while making me yearn for even more from him. He pressed his body against my back before urging me to take a step forward.

“Not there. Sit here with me, Mila...” Prince Leonard whispered seductively close to my ear before he kissed my hair softly.
