The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 935: THE FINAL BATTLE

Chapter 935: THE FINAL BATTLE

These people were not on their side. Cane was not so dumb not to notice that. It was obvious what their aim was.

But right now, with limited choice they had, this was not that bad to let them dealt with Decratic and his followers. They were not an ally, but they were on the same side in term of getting rid of Decratic. This creature was their main concern right now.

"Where is the member of the Golden Light pack?" Iris asked. They were here, thinking this place would be alpha Dax and his warrior’s base. She didn’t talk with Rei this time, because that man deliberately talked in Andel, which excluded Cane from the information.

Even at time like this, Rei was still trying to belittle Cane and take his pettiness to the next level. Iris simply couldn’t understand his main goal of doing this. Did he really think she would sympathize with him when he kept disrespecting Cane in every chance he got?

"Decratic got them. That’s our best guess," Elder Dandolf replied. He took the role as the spokesperson.

Currently, they were back to the same place, where they were outside of the second fortress. Rei took them to the magic stone’s mines, so he could do this nasty thing to the rest of the warriors that came with them.

But he didn’t expect someone else would be able to move as well. He had seen Cedric and was surprise that the knight was alive, even more when he realized he was chosen by Na to be one of the protectors.

However, he was too beaten up to do anything about it.

Meanwhile, the sound from under the ground was getting louder. You literally could hear something was slithering under the ground.

"What is this?" Iris looked terrified when she watched how the ground was undulating. Cane put his arm around her waist to steady her.

Not too far from them, Lou and the other felt the same thing too, as they stopped what they were doing and looked around them.

By this time, they had saved around two hundreds warriors, but of course there were more that they needed to be saved before they were running out of time and Rei managed to devour all of their lives’ essence.

"We need to keep moving," Cezi said, reminded them not to stop. He glanced at the distance, toward the direction, where Cane and Iris headed to.

This whole thing about protectors and Serafim were still confusing for Cezi, he couldn’t understand how as a shifter he could perform a magic. But, at time like this, when you needed to survive by all means, the questions could wait.

They managed to find Jace and Ethan, Redmond and Amee, but Iris’s five protectors were still missing. The Cocoons had the same size, thus it was hard to determine which was whom.

But obviously, Lou could recognize Lil Thing’s cocoon. It was the biggest of all. He managed to find his former pet.

"I feel bad for the spider devil that had to wrap you," Lou said to no one in particular, as he tried to get the lazy bear out of the cocoon. It was not easy, because the cocoon was thicker than the rest. "Dang it! After you made me broke by feeding you magic stones and ran off to Iris without any scrupulous, now I have to save your lazy ass! What was I thinking when I bought you in the past?"

This bear was a handful and he didn’t get any benefit from it.

"Come on! Move! Lazy Thing!" Lou shook Lil Thing’s body and found that the bear was having Iris’s lizard in its paw. "What is this? A bonus?" The lizard opened its eyes and started moving around before it fled away. "Great. No ’thank you’ for me, huh?"

Lou then worked on Lil Thing, getting rid of all the spiderlings within its body and waited for it to wake up, but the lazy bear didn’t even budge.

"Fine. Whatever." Lou then moved toward the next cocoon. He was having a hard time to keep his balance because the ground kept shaking and it felt like there was an earthquake.

"Are you, okay?" Cedric asked Abby when the woman stared at the distance, where the people from the Holy Kingdom gathered.

She felt bitter. She felt like she was being excluded and this became very clear for her that she was no longer part of them. To be honest, she was very upset, despite everything she had to endure when she lived with them...

"I am fine." Abby shifted her attention back to the matter at hand, she glanced at the Sylph that Iris had summoned and she could feel how strong it was. She would never be able to do this. "Let’s move. Something will happen. I can feel it."

Abby caressed her stomach. She really wanted Liam to be here. She wanted to see him, or even got a simple news about his whereabouts, but she heard nothing. It almost like Liam had gone, completely disappeared.

"Everything will be alright," Cedric said, he held her elbow to steady her, because the ground kept shaking.

Meanwhile, the warriors that they managed to save, had started to regain their consciousness and Jace gave a brief instruction of what they had to do. At first, they needed to free their fellow warriors from the cocoon and let the five of them to kill the spiderlings inside their bodies. With this, they could move faster and saved more people.

On the other hand, Ethan didn’t care about the instruction, his main focus was to look for Aliana. He used the same method like Hanna after she told him about how she found Will.

Unfortunately for the gamma, he couldn’t find Aliana as quick as Hanna.

Seeing this, Jace didn’t stop him. He would have looked for his sister himself if he didn’t have the responsibility as the beta, since Cane and Iris were not here.

The beta knew, Ethan would flip every rock only to find his sister and for the first time, he was genuinely grateful his sister had someone like Ethan.

Yet, the situation turned to the worse very fast, because soon enough the roar came from the sky and they knew what creature let out this sound. They had faced it before and it was not a dear moment they wanted to relive.

"Damn it!" Jace cursed under his breath. "Should we march there to get the alpha and the luna?" The beta was clueless. He approached Cezi to ask for his opinion.

Cezi stared the distance. It was very quiet over there, only the people from the Holy Kingdom were standing at the same place, with blank expression and empty eyes.

"No. Let them handled the problem over there." Cezi shook his head. "They knew what they are doing." He hoped he was right.

Jace didn’t like the suggestion, but he didn’t want to disrupt them. "I am going to bring all the warriors with me if I saw any sign of distress."

Cezi nodded. "Yes. Let’s do that."

Once again, they heard a deep growling sound from the ground and the roaring in the air. Both of Cezi and Jace stared at the sky that almost turned dark, as the sun slowly disappeared behind the horizon.

"This is it?" Jace gritted his teeth. Would this be their final battle? Would this be their final moment? They came here fully prepared, but the people from the Holy Kingdom simply loved to mess everything up.

If they managed to survive this, Jace would love to massacre them one by one.

"Aliana!" Ethan shouted her name, which drew Jace’s attention, as he rushed toward the gamma, who was carrying his little sister. She looked so pale and her lips had turned blue. She had been inside the cocoon for long.

"Alpha Cezi! Come here!" Jace was distraught to see his sister’s condition and Ethan felt like his heart would burst at any moment. He couldn’t care less about his surroundings. "Please help her!"

Cezi immediately crouched down next to Aliana and perform his newly found ability. It still felt so strange when the light came from his palms and he could see the spiderlings under her red skin, something that must be seen differently from Ethan and Jace’s perspective.

They Sylph must be very strong for someone, who knew nothing about magic to be able to learn it with ease and in a short period of time with a simple instruction from Lou.

"How is it?" Ethan asked, he held Aliana’s hand. Because of everything that was going on, they had not had a proper conversation yet.

"I think you need to take her to the Serafim. I don’t think I can manage to cure her," Cezi replied truthfully. The spiderlings inside Aliana had grown, it was stronger than the one he had handled. In fact, Aliana’s condition was worse than Will’s condition when Hanna found him.

Hearing that, Ethan didn’t waste his time and immediately carried Aliana over to Abby, as he urged her to save her life.

"Do something! Please, do something!" Ethan said hastily and Abby immediately worked on it.

The shaking ground made it hard for them to stand and move around. They felt like they were going to lose half of their people if they were attacked at a moment like this.

And the attack happened.

In the distance they could hear the sound of the ground splitting and thousands, if not millions of roars of monsters breaking through the night, while the sky turned very dark because tonight coincided with the new moon.

"Serafim, please. Stay close with us. We will protect you," alpha Dandolf said. He signaled his people to surround Iris and Cane. If it was up to him, he would ask the lycan to stay away from their Serafim, but knowing the suggestion would meet with Iris’s wrath, he was wise enough not to voice it out.

However, Iris didn’t want that. She glared at Rei. They tried to distract her with the critical of the situation and the fact they were going to face Decratic, while Rei kept harvesting his power by taking the warriors’ lives essence.

"Stop what you are doing," Iris growled at Rei. He looked better now and managed to sit down straight. His injuries had closed and you could see his birthmark on his back when he tried to stand up.

"I need more power to protect you, Serafim. I can’t do that."

"You should have thought about that before you attacked me and caused trouble for yourself."

"You should have listened to me. I only wanted to keep you safe, away from any harm."

"You are the one, who harmed me!"

Rei grimaced. "Please, calm yourself down. Your anger will only fuel to Decratic’s power."

This was very frustrating! Iris felt like she wanted to rip his face and kill him right there and then, so she could be done with him once and for all.

However, Cane felt there was something amiss with Rei’s method. He seemed to purposely rile Iris’s emotion up and then tried to salvage the situation. It was very subtle and he could be wrong, but Cane thought Rei was playing with his mate’s emotion, which in extent he tried to measure Decratic’s power.

"Let them go." Iris gritted her words. She let out the black wisp and Rei stared at it with anger flickered in his eyes.

This ability was something that Na received from the lycan and he hated it so much. He still believed he could save any remaining of Na’s life essence from within Iris. He just only needed to have a thorough check on her.

Right at that time, the roaring sound of dragon could be heard so loud, splitting the night sky, as it figure appeared from the darkness.

Not only one, but five.
