There was this tacit understanding between them when they were thinking as one and moved accordingly.

On the beast’s back, Iris created protection around her and Cane. So, he wouldn’t be affected by the poisonous miasma, while Lou and Abby created their own shield to protect Cezi, Cedric and Zale, as they worked on their newly found ability.

It felt so strange for them, but at the same time, it almost felt like they had done this before and only needed a little bit guidance to get it done, especially when Iris had summoned the Sylph, which made it easier for them to tune to their ability, since they had the same divine power from Iris.

Meanwhile, on the beast’s back, Iris felt comfortable hugging the beast’s neck, its black fur was so soft, it tickled her cheeks, as she buried her face against it. From the corner of her eyes, she saw her little lights rested on the beast’s ears.

"Rei didn’t mean to hurt you. You need to understand that he had gone through so much, he had gone through so many things that you might never imagine even in your nightmare. He had been waiting for you for over five centuries and..."

Elder Dandolf had not yet finished with his speech when the black beast charged forward, using his black wisp to clear the way for him and his mate, sending those people from the Holy Kingdom away from his path.

He looked gaunt and his skin looked paler than anything that Iris had ever seen. If it was not for the conflict between them, she would feel very sorry for him.

However, at this point, no matter how he looked like, she didn’t feel an ounce of pity. She wanted him to die. If it was possible, she wanted him to die in the most horrendous way. Her existence in this realm had vanished, not even her soul was left for Rei to manipulate. "I only missed you so bad... I want to see you again, Na..."

Rei kept repeating the same thing, but Cane and Iris were thinking about different thing. From behind them, the elders and the pure faction people gathered together, they were alerted after witnessing what Cane had intended to do. The alpha was not playing.

Probably, it was in his nature, but elder Xarex seemingly couldn’t help himself not to talk a word or two in order to persuade Iris. "You have been having negative thought lately and you don’t keep your heart pure, thus it gave Decratic power to rise again. It gave Decratic enough strength to have a battle with us ahead of time."

Iris gritted her teeth. How shameless he was to say something like that?! If anything, it was them, who had been filling her heart with so much hatred that fueled to Decratic’s strength!

Iris wanted to lash out at them, but Cane stopped her. His mate was consumed by anger, where she didn’t notice the appearance of the poisonous miasma. The ground cracked and faint red cloud could be seen appeared from the fissure.

There were two around them currently.

"It’s coming..." Rei said. His complexion was getting better and Iris hated the thought of how many lives’ essence he took from the shifters.
